C: drive is running out of space, even if I moved everything I could to the E: drive. How to identify the "space Eater"?

I moved all my data to the other disk. I was installing new programs on the other disk. Yet, the space on drive C: (37 GB) keeps becoming 'used '. Free space now is 2%. How to identify the "space Monster" which takes more and more the training?

37GB is size sorry for C:.  My minimum recommendation for everything that came out at the time of and after Windows Vista is 60 GB.

    Hi Patio_karim,

Try running disk clean up and remove unwanted system files and folders. Through disk cleanup, you can delete all the temporary files and folders that are not needed on your computer.

    1. open Disk Cleanup by clicking the Start button picture of the Start button, tap all programs, accessories, click System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.

    2. in the Disk Cleanup Options dialog box, choose whether you want to clean your own files only or all files on the computer. Need administrator permission if you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. If the disk cleanup: drive selection dialog box appears, select the hard disk you want to clean and then click OK.

    4. click the Disk Cleanup tab and select the check boxes for files that you want to remove.

    5. When you have finished select the files you want to delete, click OK, and then click on delete files to confirm the operation. Disk Cleanup on delete all unnecessary files from your computer.

    Thank you

    N °

iCloud is a synchronization service, NOT off of storage of the unit.

You could cut the phone out of sync from your library. Just move them to your Mac and synchronize your Mac with iCloud. Now, you'll have plenty of space on your phone, but no pictures.

From your Mac, you can then make an album with photos that you want to access from your phone. This will require ongoing work, but will keep your clear phone in most of the time.

  • How can I remove my photos from my iPhone while keeping in iCloud? because I'm running out of space on my iPhone.

How can I remove my photos from my iPhone while keeping in iCloud? because I'm running out of space on my iPhone.

I want to keep all my photos in iCloud. I want to remove some of them from my iPhone 4 (IOS 8) in order to free up space on my iPhone. How can I do this? Thanks for help.

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.

  • Update to SP3 run out of space in C drive, now what?

I have a Dell Pentium 4, which incidentally, this information is no longer present in my system since update properties to SP3, but it does not show that I am running Windows xp SP3. Because it is my understanding that XP will no longer support unless I am running SP3, I felt that I had to make room for the update. I had problems due to lack of space in my C drive, so I transferred all the files I thought I needed from my external hard drive, including Windows, programs, etc., I removed my programs Office and Word, to make room after the transfer or copying the files. Now, I have so many files in my external hard drive that I don't know if I need or not, but I can deal with it later. As I updated to SP3, my printer is more communicating with my computer, and the message is that the Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with XP has passed. I launched the program compatibility Wizard to find out why this printer that I have had since I bought the computer was more inconsistent, but when the wizard will ask you to click on the o/s I am running, it does not show 'Windows XP' option, only 95,98, nt4 and 2000 are listed as options. I have an or so of these operating systems in an old drive is fixed, installed by my brother in law when I arrived to this computer. I needed it because I had led a company in this operating system and used the info. from time to time. I do not really use it more I can get rid of him? I could copy it to a cd for the record-keeping. I also tried to update the drivers, but it didn't work because he can't find a better solution than that what is already.
After following all the links to the endless trails of rabbit, I tried to download "FixIt". I removed my printer, my Java and my WAA player to leave the place to install this promising program and Yes, it is installed! However, it does not complete the action when I try to run it. Now, my computer is old but has lots of features and room for improvement and growth, even if it has only 2.5 GB of RAM. I would like to know if I can solve this problem, if I remove SP1 or SP2 to get more space and I can always go to Dell and buy more Go to add. I did in the past, but I don't know if it made a difference all that I know is that he worked for a while. Also, I need to know if I need to reinstall my Windows xp, how it will affect the SP2 and SP3 updates? Help, please!

Thanks Cameron, I did, but it still shows on Daavee response telling me to get rid of.lol

  • Windows 7 pagefile when my c: drive runs out of space

I've seen this discussed many times in various places, but the answer are misleading, especially in the non-Microsoft forums

As mentioned, my Win7 system drive is running out of hard drive space, but I have a spare bedroom in the second partition of drive. Note: This notebook has a single hard drive, so the second partition is also part of the same hard drive.  Please, do not discuss clean my drive "c:" here. I did everything I could to delete (or move) the unwanted programs, move my e-mail storage location, reassign location for any other large files such backup itune Apple etc.

Suppose I want to do re-partitioning, here are the questions:

    (1) 2 files of pages in 'C: drive' and the second in the other partition, will be any good?

I ask this question because there are different answers here and there a.

    (2) if having 2 partitions is good it's a question of adding two sizes together to make sure that it is comparable to the recommeded size by Windows?

Say that my laptop has 2 GB of RAM.  The size recommended by Windows is 3009 MB (1.5 times)

I intend to address my original size / max in C: 2048/2048. If the answer is Yes, this means I must assign 1024/1024 as the initial/max size in the second partition.

    (3) assumed that it works by adding up the sizes.

I feel better using the diagram above (2048 + 1024) compared to the use of (1024 + 2048, 1024 k in 2048. primary, secondary partition).

Does it really give some differences?

    Thanks for the time.

  • My C drive is running out of space.

    From: Pradeep

As described in the topic, I am faced with a c drive running on space issues. Here are the details associated with the same thing:

OS: Windows Vista editions Home Premium

    SP: Service Pack 1 installed

Total hard disk capacity: 100 GB

    C drive: 20 GB

    D drive: 80 GB

I thought it might be because the program folder of files that I am faced with the question, but found that its size is 2.43 GB. All other folders are lower but windows folder takes the maximum share i.e. 14FR. All the programs I have installed in the PC, I've taken enough care to specify their D drive installation path. Still, I am facing this problem.

Player C has about 60 GB of free space. Is there a tool to help that i could delete the partition so that I can get rid of this problem. Other suggestions are also welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

    Pradeep

    From: Ken Blake, MVP

    > Use a third, for example, Partition Magic to combine what was D to > C, which eliminates the partition D.

If he does just that, all of its programs that are installed on D: won't work, because they will be on C: and Windows expects to find them on D:

Should also either try one of the programs to seek and try to change all the many references from D: to C:, or to uninstall, then reinstall the programs.

My experience with programs that find and change the references was less satisfactory, and I do not recommend them. The best way to do is to uninstall and reinstall.

By far, his best course of action at this stage, would be to use a third party program to enlarge small D: and C:. However, before using such a program, and taking such a Bond - either your way or mine - it should first be sure it has a current backup of what it is, that it cannot afford to lose. Although there is no reason to expect a problem, things * can * fool you.

Furthermore, Pradeep should note that programs should normally be installed on the same partition as \Windows. Although some people install them on a different partition because they think they are protected in the it and will not be lost if Windows never has to be reinstalled, it is * not * correct. If Windows is reinstalled, all the many references to the program it contains is lost. Programs (all except for an occasional small) must be reinstalled too.

    Hey Buddy

If you are using Vista, then you should consider that Vista creates an additional partition on the HARD drive.
It s hidden and it contains backup files in order to repair the operating system if something goes wrong.

In addition HARD drive must also contain HARD drive recovery files (image).
These files are required to recover the laptop HARD drive.

So the hidden partition and the recovery of HARD drive that could be the main reason why you noticed smaller amount of space available on the HARD disk

  • Running out of space on my MacBook!

I recently started running out of room on my macbook pro, so I noticed that about 100 g of memory re absorbed by "others". I was wondering if there was a way to delete some to make room. Thank you!

Here is the definition of the OTHER:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT202867

Download the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all your files and respective sizes. Transfer to an external HARD disk or remove files, that you no longer want on your MBP.

Don't forget to empty the trash. Then only the space is allocated for the new data.

According to your MBP model, you may be able to install the storage up to 2 TB of capacity that could alleviate your storage problem.

    Ciao.
