C:\windows\system32\devapi20.dll a windows image not valid

This error message is displayed at startup. I have to click over there several times before the system loads images and programs. When I try to open the program this error shows once again.

Can anyone help?

Thank you

Mae

Hello

Method 1.
Some mistakes of devapi20.dll could be related to a virus or other infection of malicious software on your computer that has damaged the DLL file. It is even possible that the error of devapi20.dll you see is related to a hostile program who is posing as the file.
Sometimes the security program installed might not be fair enough. I also recommend you update your security software regularly.

a. follow the link below to start the free online scan:
http://OneCare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm

b. run the malware removal tool from Microsoft.
Microsoft Malicious - 32-bit removal tool
http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=AD724AE0-E72D-4F54-9AB3-75B8EB148356&displaylang=en

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=585D2BDE-367F-495e-94E7-6349F4EFFC74&displaylang=en
I recommend you to install the free security software from Microsoft. Which is easy to install and automatically updated
Here is the link to download.
http://www.Microsoft.com/securepc

Method 2.
Check to see if the problem exists in Safe Mode, if the computer works as expected in mode without failure, then we can solve the problem in the clean boot state.
a. refer to the article below for the procedure safe mode in Windows XP
A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315222

b. you need to perform a clean boot to find the program that is causing and then disable or remove.
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353/en-us
Note: When you are finished troubleshooting, follow the steps as explained in the article to reset the computer to start as usual.

Reinstall the program that uses the wininet.dll file. If the wininet.dll DLL error occurs when you use a particular program, reinstall the program should replace the file.
You can also try re-installing video, network and sound card drivers.

I hope this helps.

  • Problems after resizing XP virtual machine: a Windows image not valid

After increasing my Windows XP virtual machine, I can't run Microsoft programs.

    My system

I am running XP as a virtual disk with Fusion 4.1.3 on a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard) with a drive of 500 GB and 4 GB of RAM.  My virtual machine from Windows XP (formatted FAT) has only 700 MB of free space, so I tried to increase its size from 32 GB to 48 GB.

    What I've done

    1. I increased the size of the HD in merger/disc settings

    2. the virtual machine does not resize automatically.  Messages to OS X Console says repeatedly that the virtual machine was no resizing applications ("' NUMA: auto size request ignored '")

    3. I then used EaseUS Partition Master in Windows XP to increase the use of the newly released hard drive space, but the extra space would never appear after reboot XP

    4. I then tried Partition Wizard, that worked.  So that resizing Partition Wizard was also moving files.

    The problem:

When I restarted Windows, I got several error messages saying that the dll is not a valid windows image.  I couldn't run all Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, etc.) but can run non-Microsoft programs after clicking through many error reports.

Fortunately, I made a copy of the virtual machine before attempting to resize, so I use it now.  But I lost 12 GB on my Mac hard drive and cannot get enough space in Windows

Any thoughts out there so that I could get enough space?

It is good that you made a backup, because even in the best conditions can things and sometimes lack.

Since you had questions, go right to work, in other words, the first step to actually make the larger virtual hard drive, I have consider doing the following.

    1. ensure that you have a backup full host.  Time Machine is great for Mac OS X but not for Virtual Machines.  For the Virtual Machines, you must make a copy while closed stop, unsprung, and VMware Fusion.  Once you are sure that have everything backed up properly...

    2. use utility disk to verify disk permissions, disk check and optionally repair either or both based on audit reports.

    3. use vmware-vdiskmanager with the -r option to check the integrity of the virtual hard disk.

    4. from the guest operating system in a Windows prompt command use chkdsk /f to check and fix a problem with the Windows file system.

    5. try to resize the virtual hard disk again.

    Hello

As far as I know, this message appears because you have installed a version of the Windows operating system and the system was not properly activated.

You said that you have installed a new Windows system using the disk from Microsoft.
So use the key belonging to this system of Windows:

Try to uninstall and reinstall the product key and check if this may help.

    1) click Start and type CMD in the start search box.
    (2) select run as administrator.
    (3) in the shell, type the following command and press ENTER after each command.

    slmgr-upk
    slmgr-ipk (your product key)

    (4) to activate the copy again and check if it works.

I bought a used computer, and now it says my windows are not valid. Is there anyway to find the product key for my windows program? Or make my windows valid without spending money? I'm a musician who was struggling.

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.

A copy of Acer OEM of Windows 7 has been installed on a computer from Matsushita, which was again 3 years before the release of Windows 7, it is a flagrant violation of the license from Microsoft. The installed copy of Windows 7 is a counterfeit.

You must purchase a new copy of Windows.

  • Windows 7 not valid/not authentic

Hello, I use Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) for a little more than 3 years after the purchase of a system of HP HPE-1234 stock in September 2012. I recently put to level of the motherboard and processor on the system (after putting in a new case in December of 2013) and have had no problems since... Until today.

This morning I turned on my computer, checked my Email and some sites I am after, etc. and while that message has come (unrelated to internet usage, I think) saying that my Windows operating system might not be genuine. I downloaded the legitcheck.hta program and did some reading (light), apparently a few people with my version of windows (7601) have had these problems before. The legitcheck says that she is not able to be validated as genuine. Now I have the black background and the message "this copy of Windows is not genuine" on the lower right corner of my two screens. I have ran the program MGADiag.exe and will display the results below. The tool MGA says its an invalid license. Thanks in advance. Here's the info of Validation:

    I've recently updated the motherboard

You have created a new computer. A copy of HP OEM of Windows 7 Home Premium was fired for the original computer and not your computer. You can buy a new copy of Windows.

This type of upgrade that attracts many users. If you have a retail copy of Windows you could transfer Windows 7 to the new computer. Commercial versions of Windows are a little more expensive because of this advantage.

  • PC recovered and now it says that windows is not valid

    I have

recovered my HP Pavilion PC p6110t CTO desktop computer and now he tells me that the windows vista operating system is not valid... .any suggestions

    Hello

If windows reports that it is now enabled, try to restart the PC to see if the invalid message disappears after a reboot.

    Kind regards

    DP - K

  • Computer displays the message that installation of Windows is not validated.

When Windows 7 has been reinstalled by my son!, we had to use a borrowed drive. It has not validated at this time.  If I can validate without reinstallation? I have the validation code.

    Hello

Try to use the activation of the phone:

    1. Click Start, and then in the search box type: slui.exe 4
    2. press enter on your keyboard
    3. Select your country.
    4. Select the telephone activation option, then dial the given number and hold for a real person.

Do not press any button or reply to the automated messages.  Just wait for the CSR to answer.

  • PC decided after 3 years that windows is not valid...

I bought a pc with windows 7 and put to level toward 64-bit 3 years ago. He decided today that the version is not valid. There was a number of hard disk failure. How can I find the question correctly. The license number on the pc is too faded as follows.

-* in your own thread *, please

Please also state the Version and edition of Windows cited on your COA sticker (if you a) in the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but does NOT quote the key on the sticker!

  • Error message when starting. C:\WINDOWS\system32\gijsgkuj.DLL specified module could not be found.

This error message has appeared for some time now, but it does not seem to harm my pc, other than very slowly.  What is the feature of this module?  Do I need for normal use?

    johnedr1,
You can check that you spelled the file correctly?  I wasn't able to find that everything about this DLL.  If you have any specialized software it can be part of that.  But something during startup tries to call this file and find do not.
You can make troubleshooting by performing a clean boot.  Here are the links that will explain the process in detail.  Short of this, you disable the elements of all Microsoft and if the error Stops, then add points back until you find the program\process which is the cause.

Follow the steps in this article to resolve problems with a clean boot.
