  I've had my C309a printer for a few years now and it has worked well.  My old computer died and I had to get a new one.  I have problems to get the installed Solution Center software.  I am running Windows 7 64 bit.  I downloaded the latest software from the hp Web site.  I followed all the steps as instructed.  The printer is recognized and I can print from Word.  I can't get the solution center to load.  When I run the installation of the software on the HP website (PS_AIO_05_C309a_Net_Full_Win_enu_140_047) it goes through all the steps, but hangs at the end, then a "fatal error-wStub 459426" appears.  An error log is produced, followed by a placed file on my desktop named "HP Installation error - Windows 7".  I followed all the steps up to the wired installation step 2 D.  That is to turn off anti-virus firewall and anti and software programs.  Same error message with a different number after '-wStub ' fatal error message.  I'm at my wits end here.  Installation install photosmart essentials 3.5, but not the Solution Center software.  I need this to scan my documents!  When I try to scan from the console printer, I get an error message on the printer cannot connect to the computer screen saying.

  I have downloaded and run diagnostic printer HP program tools, print and scan the doctor, who tells me that I need the Solution Center software installed.  I don't type what I said to a diagnostic conclusion.  I followed the steps in this program without success either.

  I have no problem to install the drivers c309a using a Win 8.1 operating system that has all the undates installed, so I can print, however the software suite to operate other functions will not be installed.  When you use the latest version of the software of HP to win 8.1, it downloads and unzips but nothing after decompresses happen.  The Task Manager shows the configuration of the Installer (32-bit) HP running.  I left the Installer run for over an hour with no progress.  I repeated this process several times without success.

  I contacted HP and they told me the c309a printer is not totally compatibility with Win 8.1 in what all functions like the fax and scanning will not work.

  Also, I can see the printer installed from its address of sea.

  Is this correct?  Dose someone out there know the real story?

  The HP Photosmart C309 is fully supported by Windows 8.1.

  Try following the steps below, and then reinstall the HP software and check any changes:

  1 open the Mcafee Virus and Spyware Protection software you are interested in, click on calendar and perform analyses. Click analysis in real time, and then click stop. Select until I restart the PC and confirm by clicking the button turn off.
  2. open the dialog box run by clicking on the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir%, and then click OK.
  3. type hpoins*.dat in the search bar at top, if there is that no result rename the extention in old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)

  I have a C309a.  It is printing from my hotmail account.  However, when I ask a copy, I'm going out blank paper.  When I try to print from excel, I get the blank paper.  When I try to print from turbo tax, I get the title really light gray and nothing else.  When I try to print a test page, the ink completely faints on the first letter.  However, all of the ink is new, and printing from hotmail is bright and clear in all colors.  I had a PC cleaner to update this morning, and what has happened since.  Does anyone have clues, what is happening.  I'm not a techie.  just a little old lady with a printer, I'm ready to throw it out the window.

  HP Solution Center has stopped working so I followed the advice of HP Support Assistant to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

  Cannot get printer to reinstall successfully, and more, none of the physical controls on the printer will work much longer, even the power of the power button.  Have to unplug the power off.

  Ironically, I found since the 'solution' through this forum to get Support HP Center works again by uninstalling a recent Windows Update, but do me no good now.

  Hello - Thanks for the reply.  Power the device power on and off has not fixed anything.  However, suspecting an internal firmware issue, I did a search on the web to see if there was a mechanism to reset.  I found a very useful website that describes three levels of resets, and the second level one (#6) fixed my problem.  I'm surprised HP doesn't have this information in its documentation or on its website.  I understand he has the potential to be used for the wrong purposes and perhaps make an irreparable problem, but it is clearly the solution to an inoperable Panel.  My printer was working fine before this problem and is now back to work again.

  I am trying to connect a new printer C309a to my home network. I start with, run the Configuration Wizard on my PC, which works in Windows 7. I am able to connect to the network through my Netgear DG834GT router (the printer's list on the page of the router). However, the computer never seems to be able to communicate with the printer.   Check that the Wireless Isolation is not enabled on the DG834GT. See page 4-4 in the DG834GT reference guide is here to see where you can find this setting on your wireless router.

  Also, I want to check that you are not MAC filtering.

  BTW - what type of wireless encryption are you using?
