C309g causes router prevent internet router

I bought a c309 and connected wireless to router Netgear N-300 (Comcast modem), I am able to print from my wireless laptop, but after a few minutes I find that none of the computers in the House can receive internet (even so strangely computer my son can always get lazy, but not internet explore).  There is no problem with the modem I get the internet if I connect directly to the modem.  I changed the IP address of the printer manually to make sure that is not the same as the principal server, but I still have the same question.  Appreciate any advice.

First of all, update the firmware on your router.  Some versions of N of Netgear wireless routers have firmware that does not play nice with HP wireless printers.

Then, by placing a static IP in this way has corrected this problem with others:

We will set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. Enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white. Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

After that, you will have to redo 'Add printer' using the new IP address.

  • WRT1900AC: Port forwarding causes router to become unresponsive.

    Hi all

I'm having a problem with my WRT1900AC router when port forwarding. I talked to tech support on this issue, but I want to know if the people in the community are affected by the same thing, and perhaps conduct a little experiment.

Basically, the problem is that I am trying to forward the ports for Xbox Live, and after that, the router becomes completely insensitive: cable internet connection cut, cuts wireless and router are accessible via the browser. Turn the power off for 30 seconds and then again has no effect. All the lights are on and stable, but nothing works. The only way to regain access to the router and make it work again is to reset using the button at the back. Support put me through all the troubleshooting steps (firmware, reset and works) but it had no effect.

The thing is that what happens 100% of the time that I try to transmit ports, and even after replacement of the router from the dealer, he AGAIN becomes unresponsive after port forwarding. Even better, is that one of my friends has exactly the same problem and he bought his at the same time as me (early July)

So I would like to know if others are experiencing this as well? The ports, I'm trying to convey are lower, can anyone else try them and see if it works?

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • UDP port 3544 (UDP)

    Thank you

Don't put the Port 53. It causes the router to lose connection to the internet. However, others are very good.

  • IP duplicated preventing internet connection

My Windows XP does very well, no problems in offline mode. Any attempt to open ANY browser results in a release warning duplicate IP address. At this point, I can do without an internet connection. Pages will then expire or keep trying to load in a loop. How can I get rid of this address duplicate and will that fix my problem?

The only thing I can think of that might cause a situation such as you describe requires some rather unlikely factors: a static IP address assigned improperly and an abnormally short DHCP lease duration or a too small range of IP assignment also coupled with abnormally short DHCP lease time.

Another example failure router power Tricky described earlier, the most common IP duplicate addresses reason is that some devices on the network is configured to use an IP address (fixed) that is in the IP range used by the router to assign automatically the addresses.

Administrators often configure devices that all users will want to join (like network printers) to have a static IP address, but the correct way to proceed is to choose an address outside the range of assignment.  For example, if the router automatically assigns IP addresses between 192.168.1.100 and 192.168.1.150, you re a printer with a static IP as 192.168.1.25.

An IP address conflict caused by the use of a static IP address in the wrong range will arise when the router automatically assigns an IP address which is identical to the pre-assigned static IP address - and that should not happen in a timeframe of 30 minutes.  The only thing I can think is that the router has the term of lease defined DHCP to something a little more than 30 minutes.  It would be very unusual; the default on the routers DHCP lease time is 24 hours.

On your computer, go to network connections, right click on your wireless network adapter, and then select Properties.  In the "Général" tab, select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" and click on the properties button. The normal situation is to have the "obtain an IP address automatically" and "obtain a DNS server address automatically" selected.  That shows your configuration?

You have all printers or other devices not computer connected to your network?  This does NOT include printers or other devices physically connected to a computer and then shared on the network.  If you have a network printer, use its controls on front panel to print a 'network status page' and see if it is configured to automatically obtain its IP address or if it uses a static IP address.

There are also a few things to check in the configuration of the router, if you have access to it.  I like to watch

    • the range of IP addresses that the router uses (perhaps it has been initially implemented when there were fewer users and doesn't have a range of 10 addresses, so if the 12 you are trying to connect at the same time there will be a problem)
    • the term of lease of client
    • the table of the DHCP client (which will display all the devices connected to the router)

If you identify the make and model of the router, I should be able to tell where to find this information.

    [EDIT]
If you open a command prompt window and type
    ipconfig/all
and then press ENTER, you can see when the DHCP lease was obtained and when it will expire ("Lease obtained" and "Expiry of the lease").  You will get something like this:

    d:\Users\LemP>ipconfig/all

  • Connect laptop HP Network Causes loss of Internet Wi - Fi

I recently bought a HP Pavilion dv6 with Windows 7 and I have problems with this connection to the LinkSys WRT110.  When it connects, the signal is strong, but there is no internet access.  Also immediately after logging in, all other systems (a Dell Dimension 8400 running XP Media Center and an XBox 360) that are connected to the router also lose internet access.  I found that unplugging the router and the modem and then by restarting the Dell solves the problem, but it's really annoying to have to do this every single time, I want to connect with the laptop.  Is there a solution that I'm missing?  Any help is appreciated to greatlly.

The firmware on your router is old. I suggest you upgrade the firmware on the router. You can download the firmware from here. Now, go to the linksys configuration page and click on the Administration tab, update the firmware.

After upgrading the firmware, reset the router, power cycle it and reconfigure the router from scratch.

  • Impossible to delete or move outgoing emails and emails not recording not not to box SENT half of the time. CAUSED by AVAST internet security.

Often, though not always, when I open THUNDERBIRD I'm not able to delete or move messages. I need to close the program and reopen it. Similarly, when sending e-mails, sometimes things work easily and sometimes they cling to saving to the box SENT. Apparently they get sent but I can't keep a copy. If I close and reopen, then it works as it should.

I am running Windows 8.1, 24.3 Thunderbird and AVAST internet security.

Very well. Pulling the AV off the coast of the Inbox in Thunderbird (profile) seems to have pretty well taken care of issues. He hung up once... but after a few hours, then I am satisfied. Thanks again, Alice.

  • Conficker Virus preventing internet access system, access to the anti-virus SW restore.

I have a computer infected by the Conficker virus, I think. My Mcafee anti-virus SW seem to be disabled, and I can't seem to him. I copied AVG anti-virus on him and ran, but nothing was found. I ran MalwareBytes Anti-Malware and registry found 2 problems. After this, I restarted and was able to access some web sites. I even got in the MS One Care page and tried to download the Scanner, but it was missing the button to start the download. I confirmed that was missing to try it on a working PC. MS Update are not accessible. System Restore are not accessible. I want to download the Microsoft Safety Scanner.  How can I download it to a flash drive and copy over my infected machine? Thank you. Bob M.

You shouldn't run both anti-virus at the same time in PC even what they will conflict and cause the error. If you have McAfee Original then contact support:

    http://www.McAfee.com/us/support/index.html

They could help you solve this problem. Also, restart your PC and press the F8 key repeatedly until Windows logo come. In the menumode safe mode with networking , then try to update McAfee and run full system scan.

    Hi Linda

Take a screenshot in Windows 7 requires several actions.

    1. press the Printscreen key. This operation copies an image of the screen to the Clipboard.

    2. open an imaging program such as MS Paint and paste the screenshot.

3 save the screenshot image in a folder of your choice.

  • Client VPN prevents internet access from other computers on the network

    Hello.

I run Client ver 4.6.03.0021 from an office on a network of 11 computers via a hub 16-port. Internet access is through an ICS gateway to the cable modem. Once I changed the modem cable to test a backup and then switched back to the original modem. After this, only computers that have the VPN Client (running or not) could access the internet. Computers that have no customer VPN can access only certain sites. Commonly viewed sites would say "site found. Waiting for answer", but the answer would never come and IE 6.1 cling. When I would try ping sites, it would fail. However, some sites such as Google.com would work.

On one of the computers, on a whim of head, I installed the VPN Client but have not set up a connection. Now, this computer will connect to any website I want.

Is there a fix easier to get access to other computers on the network without installing the VPN Client on each of them?

    Thank you

    H. Adams

    Hello

Looks like you are running in MTU problem. The reason I say it is, automatically reduces the MTU value to 1300 VPN client during the installation for the whole system. That is to say all the client computer installed VPN that have MTU from 1300.

Try to cut down the MTU of other systems that have no VPN client installed to 1300. If it's a Windows system, you can use Dr. TCP (free).

  • Windows 7 a * beep * terrible internet connectivy problems due to router linksys!

Well, it's a very long story which lasts for a total of 6 months, and I solved some problems, but simply kept coming. I'll tell you the problems that I meet now, to shorten the story. So in late November 2009, I upgraded my computer toshiba windows vista 64-bit for windows 7 64 bit with 4 GB of ram. Anyway, this computer is very good, fast, and I keep it in good condition. However, internet issues connectivy are the only bad thing. From my experience of 6 months with these issues under internet, I concluded that the problems are now: the computer cannot connect to the home network authication failed, but I KNOW for a fact the I typed the password of secuity in my network correctly and got all the correct network name and secuity settings! Second, I have the ip address conflict with another computer on my network, but I don't think it's the cause for prevents me loading of pages on the internet, since I changed the manuelly of ip address to the other pc to something else.

Until that moment I really only have one problem. I think that this is due to miscommucations with my pc and the router. The weird thing is sometimes I'm able to do everything on the internet without any problem, but sometimes only. This is what is happening, I cannot connect to my network or you are disconnected, my internet is very very slow, the pages will be load but be blank.

I use and roadrunner, so yes to wireless broadband.

I don't really know the solution, but I know that all the other computers and devices on my network (2 wireless computers, a plugged into the router, 2 ipods, wii, xbox360) connect very well, but my computer is the only one that works on windows 7 and was made by toshiba.

Other information that I need you say?

    Please help me!

You makes me very happy and destroy my stress.

Thank you, and best regurads you all faced with questions or help solve them.

Thanks for the help guys, but I was finally able to buy a new router. AFAIK is linksys routers do not work so well, espeically bad with windows 7.

It is used to say my experience. In any case the new router works pretty well so far. I don't have not been disconnected from the internet, so

    It's a good sign.

    Thank you, again.

PS Si I tried one of your methods of guys to solve the problem, but thanks.

EricLaw IEInternals - a peek at Internet Explorer from inside. -Understanding DEP/NX
    http://blogs.msdn.com/ieinternals/archive/2009/10/10/understanding-data-execution-prevention-crashes-in-IE8.aspx

The problem might actually be an addon or another program causing the problem and you
    must verify that 1.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have
EVER had on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which)
    may cause strange problems).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

    not better?

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, is no longer necessary, but)
Java always install it and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again.)
    Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look
right. Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If a doubt
program to ask about it here.

Could be a free - BHOremover - BHO - standalone program, needs no installation, download and
run - not all are bad but some can cause your question. (Toolbars are BHO)

  • attachments cause Internet Explore stops working

We have two email accounts a Hotmail.com and a single live.com.      Several months ago, perhaps when OUTLOOK can be downloaded on the stage is no longer able to send an attachment.   A short document or a photo causes the error "Internet Explorer has stopped working".   This is the only problem we seem to have.  Any suggestions?

This happens when you click on the attachment button, or when you drag-and - drop a file in the email (or both?)

I think that what I would like to try if it was me is first to open Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab and click the reset... button at the bottom.

Sounds like it might be related to the same problem I have, the two thing I did her seemed to help was to disable ipv6 (click the icon at the bottom right of your screen network, click on "Network and sharing Center", then click on LAN or wireless network, you must do two of them IMO.  Once you have done this, click 'Properties', then click to clear the check in the box for "Internet Protocol version 6" and then select "internet protocol version 4", and click Properties. "  Then click on the button "Advanced".  Once you have done that click on the tab "wins" and below, it will be 'net bios settings' and click on one to disable.

    I could solve the problem.

Norton Internet Security has been altered. Although he was not running, it is somehow preventing Internet connections.

After you uninstall NIS, everything works fine. NIS is now re-installed and everything is working again.
