I just plug a new ThinkPad T530 with 64-bit Windows 8. I was playing around with it a bit, the installation of applications different but then decided to do a factory reset in order to get a clean machine again. I entered the recovery (F11 at startup) and utility of Windows 8 was launched recovery utility and I chose the "Reset Your PC". When the action has started the application asked me for the installation media THAT has NOT been PROVIED by lenovo. After I went back to Windows 8 and tried to make a rescue and the recovery disk using the Windows 8 feature, but again I got the same message asking me to insert the diskettes to install for Windows 8. I see that my machine has 2 recovery Partitions, so my question is WHY don't I RESTORE MY PC to FACTORY SETTING with the HELP of THE PARTITIONS on the DISK?

Guys, I think I found a solution for this problem (no reservoir of lenovo). Here goes:
Run diskpart (Win + R key)-> write DISKPART.
    A command-line interface will appear.
Volume of writing list (lists the partitions on your disk)
Look for the partition that is marked as Lenovo_Recovery (in my case was Volume 3, size of 10 GB)
Select which-> the partition using the command select volume 3 (as in my case was volume 3)
Display the partition using the command-> assign letter g (or whatever letter you have available)
Take any collection action you like. I tried the "Create recovery disk' and 'Refresh PC', in both cases before this fix I received a message where I was asked for the installation DVD, but this case operations past.
Final-> hide the partition using the command, delete the letter g. This will not disable the functionality of recovery but will hide you partition which is a good thing, so you don't mess anything.

  • Windows Vista cannot find the CD/DVD drive

The problem: my computer does not find my CD/DVD drive, it is not listed in Device Manager as at all CD/DVD drive, it has power because it opens when I press the button, and when I put a CD, it does nothing.

My computer: I have Windows Vista Home Premium, dv6700 Notebook, 32 bit, running on the System Pack 1. (I tried to update to the pack 2 system, but at some point, he is simply decided to AC turns off and when I booted up my laptop, he did a system restore and poof, System Pack 2 was gone, and I never re-installed.)
What I tried: I tried the Fix It program here on Windows, and it has detected a problem (if I remember correctly, but had no trouble for him); I tried deleting the upper and lower filters (which I haven't really found, because the CD/DVD is NOT an option in my device manager); I tried setting my computer back to factory settings completely.
Basically, I'm at a loss to know what to do to try to solve this problem. I don't remember how long this has happened (at the time, that my hard drive does not open even for me to put a CD) and I don't see what program could have caused it as appropriate. The only rider listed is listed under disk drives, and it's WDC WD2500BEVS - 60UST0 ATA Device (I don't know if cela help/questions in all). I do not have a disk; the laptop comes with Windows Vista and if she had a drive anyway, I didn't like this laptop was given to me by my father. I don't know what else to do to try to solve this problem. Someone please help.

I tried this DVD in other laptops and it works perfectly, but when I insert in my laptop, it says "Please insert the disk".»
    could someone help please.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive

  • Cannot get the cd/dvd driver for CD playback

    Hiya

Earlier this year, my laptop has been infected by viruses, malware, etc. I used the program Spyware Doctor to remove any infections, but so many files and programs are removed.

On the Device Manager CD-ROM/DVD-ROM driver TSSTcorp DVD +-RW TS - L632H ATA Device ended up having a typical yellow mark next to it and the cd player would not read cds or dvds. Somehow however his custom 'fixed' itself, but always play all discs.

Light to the factory side, it opens and closes, and when a cd is put in it sounds as if its going to do something, but after a few seconds only stops and don't open the program or recognize the drive. I read through many responses of forum and things like delete upper and lower filters do not work as they are already not.

Advice or answers will be very appreciated!

    Hi sugar_owl,

    1. run the troubleshooter from the link, below, you can see the link below:

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows:http://support.microsoft.com/gp/hardware_device_problems

    2. If this does not help, you can uninstall and reinstall the CD/DVD drive:

To do this, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. click System and Maintenance, click System and then click on Device Manager.

Note that if control panel is in Classic view, double-click System and then click on Device Manager.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow.

    (c) in Device Manager, expand CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives, right click on the device CD and DVD and then click on uninstall.

    d. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to remove the device, click OK and restart the computer.

    e. After you restart the computer, the drivers will be installed automatically.

  • Computer is crushed, lost CD, cannot recover the music

So my old computer crashed, and I had the music there from a CD I lost and no longer have. The CD is the 2nd disc of a soundtrack album 2 drives my brother created when I was small, and it doesn't have all of the music files left. I always have music from the first drive to a flash drive and managed to save it in my iTunes and sync it with my phone, but I can't recover the second disc, even if iTunes recognizes it is the first disc of the two and has the correct name under composer and artist. This music morally means a lot to me and it would be sad to lose him. Help please?

(The screenshot, I only changed the name of the album by adding the first word and the hyphen. Otherwise, the album is first of ALL! 1111one, composer and artist: Vartan Simonian, 18 titles, year 2008, disc 1 of 2. This part was saved from my last computer.)

There is always this music on your iPhone? If so see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device. According to your definition of accident, the media may still be on the hard drive of the older computer and may be recoverable, even if the computer starts. Make a backup of everything you get.

  • After dismantling Satellite A60 cannot detect the CD/DVD drive

    Hello

I opened my laptop to clean-up and it was the first time that I never opened a laptop. Messed up at the opening of the cd/dvd drive.
Instead of just pulling out, I started its opening screw but quickly realized that this is not the right way. So I took it out. Rest of the disassembly procedure went well and I assembled it back but he little silver r 2 bands and a small source, which I'm sure that belongs to the CD player and I couldn't adapt it.
And I don't know how it fits.
The computer does not detect the drive. Although I can open it by clicking on the Open button, then he hang out by sharp object. (The light will blink showing the power exists in)

The second thing is the microphone. I've never used until last week, but my voice is going through. The system does not detect any microphone.

    Help appreciated

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what is the problem with CD/DVD player. Are there signs of the CD/DVD drive in Device Manager or the drive is not displayed in Windows Explorer?

How did you test mic? Try it with the tape recorder for windows. So you can test the functionality of the mic on the easiest way.

  • Satellite L300 - 1 4 PSLB8E - cannot open the CD/DVD ROM drive

    Hi, Bérard

So I have a problem with cd/dvd rom drive.
After that I updated with the last computer driversmy, the player can not open:(j'ai fais redémarre et c'est le même...) When I press the drive button to open, it flashes orange led for two or three times and nothing happens, the drive is always busy.

Before reinstalling with the old windows version of the drivers worked well, but that sometimes it did not work... and now it's doing nothing all the time.

Is my windows 7 x 64, updated drivers to update yesterday. Can someone help me?

    Hello

You can find a small hole near the CD/DVD to eject the drive.

Put a small card or PIN in this hole and the CD/DVD drive should eject manually.

In my case, it always helps.

    Good luck

  • Pavilion dv7 cannot recognize the CD/DVD drive, no help support "assistant".

Subject says it all.  Since I got this machine, it had problems when the CD/DVD drive becomes invisible and are not accessible by any means.  A reboot has solved in the past, but now, it doesn't seem to work more.  I would like to reinstall the drivers, but guess what, I don't know what kind of player, it is (funny how that works), and Support 'Assistant' is apparently ihcapable to understand the model of this Pavilion dv7 ("product name: loading...") ("now until the heat death of the universe), which does not help either.  Anyone has a better idea than just blindly install the drivers?

    Hello

Drivers for CD/DVD drives comes with Windows (IE with the operating system - it is not the drivers you need to download).  The driver is located in C:\Windows\system32\DRIVERS\cdrom.sys.

First, try the automated Microsoft fixit at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Check if the drive works now.

If the drive does not, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.  Right-click on the first channel and select uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When uninstalled repeat the process for each channel.  Also, if an ATA controller is listed, right click and uninstall it, once again is not removing the drivers if requested. Then, open the CD-ROM/DVD-ROM drives.  Make a right click the drive (if it shows!) and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.

Restart the computer and let Windows reinstall devices.  Check the disc again.

If it still does not work, re-run the fixit automated Microsoft at the link below.

    Windows 7

    Vista

Then, in the Start Menu, open Control Panel and click Device Manager.  Click to open the CD/DVD-ROM drives.  Right-click on the drive and choose uninstall.  Do not delete if requested drivers.  When the device has been uninstalled click the icon 'Search for hardware changes' (usually just below help in the toolbar).  Let windows reinstall the disc and see if it works now.

  • Cannot read the OS DVD, but can read the Diag CD sata disc?

    Greetings,

Laptop is the famous brick of overheating creatively titled DV6416CA.

I had to format the new hard drive after the original hard drive fried. (HP says too bad with that in short).

It now sports a WD3200BVET which is sata 5400 320gigs. I had installed Windows 7 during about 6 months now.

It was great. Life was good. I was happy. My daughter, wife and mother-in-law all used to watch movies online.

Then they got a virus that has rendered useless map of wireless network and in the end, I was told by 2 different specialists to give up and reinstall. So I said OK. I'll reinstall with the same dvd that I used last time. But it was not to be.

Somehow, I can read the diag cd I have but when I insert a dvd of Vista (a real one) it will not read it. He tries, but giving up at the end I tried the DVD (the original one) and also one dvd of Windows 7 on 2 other workstation without problem.

Therefore, I can not install the OS from scratch on this laptop using the DVD player.

The BIOS is also sport all options, for example, the IDE compatibility or such.

Just the phone does not have a DVD OS...

    Thanks for the help

  • 55XD8505 it recharges continuously--cannot reach the factory reset

    Hello

My 55XD8505 2016 is having issues. When you enter the home menu is extremely slow and leave then it is only a matter of minutes before the device reboots. If I just start the TV and stay away from the home menu, I can watch TV.

Now, my intention is to restore the factory settings to try to get the system going again. Normally a reset of the Android system can be done either

    (1) via the settings menu

    or

    (2) by switch on the unit with the volume on/off button + start button / stop key and use recovery menu.

I can't do 1) since any speed, I navigate the menu of settings, the TV restarts before I can fill a selection of factory settings.

I can't do 2) either - at least all the possible combinations of Sony, I found does not apply for my TV

I'm all of ideas - is it possible to factory reset via the USB port (perhaps using ADB)?

    A nailed!

I discovered that you can use 'top' under adb shell. I did the following:

    (1) connect adb

    (2) adb shell

    (3) top m 5 (this lists the first 5 cpu by using the applications)

After running high and enter the main menu, I saw the CPU use climbing, and the app in the foreground was always/system/bin/mtkbt, which I figured well be related to Bluetooth. So, after a few attempts of menu navigation speed, I managed to enter the bluetooth menu and disable bluetooth before it restarts.

Success! Now I can navigate the menu of home once again, I have the tried clear the data cache / anything related to bluetooth from the menu applications and then reactivate bluetooth, but alas the problem returns. So now I'm running the TV without bluetooth. I could try to factory reset the TV tomorrow to see if it helps - at least now I can actually reach the factory reset menu.

    UPDATE:

Now after you turn off the bluetooth, I could navigate the menu to factory reset. After doing a reset complete, it seems that everything is back to normal - even with bluetooth enabled. Problem solved... Thanks adb.
