C4780 will not scan in mac Mavrick, worked fine before update

I have an iMac and upgraded to Mavrick. Now my scanner, Photosmart C4780, does not scan. I have HP scan, 2.4.0(5), that has worked well before. I can't find an upgrade to scan from HP on the web site. When I use it, nothing happens and I have to use Force quit to turn it off. Suggestion? Thank you

I saw your post on the problems you are having with a sweep on the Mavericks.  I checked the drivers available and there is no driver available for the Mavericks scanning. However, there are solutions to analyze.

Click on the link below and choose 'How to scan with the Apple Software Update driver?' and then you will see 3 methods, choose one of them.

    You can have a third party Safari installed third-party plugin or extension that prevents loading Safari Facebook.

    In the Safari menu, click Safari > Preferences, and then select the tab Extensions extensions uninstall then leave then restart Safari to test.

    If it is not a question of extensions, try troubleshooting third-party plug-ins.

    Back to Safari > Preferences. This time select the tab Security Deselect: plug-ins Allow. Quit and restart Safari to test.

    I understand that you are not able to scan from your Mac OS X 10.5.8 computer to your HP Officejet 6600 e-all-in-one printer. I would like to help you to solve this problem today.

    First of all, can you have click here to review the methods of support for scanning your computer Mac OS X 10.5. I understand that the document that I talked to said it is for Mac OS X 10.6, but I assure you that the steps are the same for Mac OS X 10.5 operating system. When the page opens select the drop down to "scanner with HP Software". Please do run the supported methods of scanning to check if the scan software and the driver is installed correctly.

    Scanning still crashes, please proceed with the troubleshooting steps below.

    Step 1: Uninstall the drivers and software:

    Can I have it please click here to go through the steps on the reset printing system in your Mac computer. Please follow the steps to "reset the Mac OS X v10.5.x or 10.6.x printing system". The reset each printer to remove it from your computer Mac OS X 10.5, but will not uninstall the drivers. Therefore, if you use other printers on your computer simply ensure that they are connected with a USB cable or network connected and everything just (+) add hide them in. do not add your HP Officejet back in right now.

    Please click here to run the appropriate uninstall steps. When this page opens select the drop down to "Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5" and run the uninstall steps listed.

    Once the uninstall is complete, proceed to the next step.

    Step 2: Check and repair your Mac disk permissions:

    1. Open Macintosh HD and go to Applications
    2. Go to the Utilities folder
    3. Open disk utility
    4. Select the hard disk volume, you use (usually on the left)
    5. Select verify disk permissions
    6. Once this process is complete, select repair disk permissions

    Step 3: Check the Apple updates:

    1. Go to the Apple
    2. Select System Preferences
    3. Select software update
    4. Click Update now
    5. Install your available updates
    6. Computer restart

    Step 4: Reinstall your software and drivers:

    Finally, please click here to download the appropriate drivers for your printer. Once the site opens, select the download button at the top left. Once the download is complete, follow the instructions on the screen to install your printer.

    Once the installation is complete, can you please try to print and scan again to verify that your product is properly installed and working properly.

  • Scanner will not scan on Mac.

    All of a sudden that my printer (Photosmart C6380) refuses to scan what either on my Mac. I go to the scanner that I would normally the Photosmart studio and select scan. The scanner then begins to initialize, then: "an unknown error has occurred" pop up appears. I did not what is wrong because it's all pop up says, he won't go into details in addition so I have no idea what actually is this error. I tried scanning my other printer HP (Deskjet F4280) and it came with the same error. I even tried the scan using my Macbook and I get the same error too. I also tried scanning the Mac to the printer, then the printer initializes and freezes I have to restart the printer.

    I recently installed Mac OS X Snow Leopard on both Mac and that could be the reasoning of the problem, but the printer works without any problem. It just seems to be the scanner itself.

    On the right column is where you tell the file name, type, location, etc.  When you click on the Scan button it saves it (he actually does scan yet).

    I see that you are looking in your scanning options. I would try to help.

    Due to the age of the printer, there is no HP software for this printer on Mavericks.  You can, however, use the characters of basic Mac OS and drivers to scan.  I'm including a document on the installation and using the printer on a Macthat should help you to solve this particular section of the document titled "How to scan with Apple software update driver?"

  • Skype 6.18.60.106 will not stay connected-old version works fine

    When you use an older version of Skype, everything works great! But given that the old version of Skype now wont let me login and forces to download me use the version 'later' (6.18.60.106). This latest version will not be connected. He's constantly in "connection mode" icon. All the other internet connectivity works fine with multiple devices. ONLY this "latest" version of Skype has trouble. Cannot continue with an appeal for more than a few seconds before getting fired because of constant logout/re-connecting when you use the version "later."

    The system is Windows XP with service pack 3.

    DRM for any ideas on how to solve this frustrating problem. I use Skype as my "landline" and have come to rely on it using Skype and Skype.

    I spoke with HP for more than two weeks my new printer not scaning to my computer which is a brand new Dell bought may 1.  I'm frustrated as * with no solutions.  As I looked on the forums of Dell and HP forums, it seems that HP has a problem of reall with this problem.  Has anyone else had this and solved the problem?  I am ready to return to the store.  My nerves are leached.  All I get are they sent my problem to their advanced technicians.  So how long should I wait?  Promised are really old here. Any input would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

    Who ever you are, you are a 'Holy '!  I can scan my stuff to the computer through Windows Photo Gallery why 'big' wigs at HP could not tell me it is beyond me after weeks of trying to kill the printer.  I don't think they have their software upgraded to work with Vista, if you ask me.  But thank you very much for your help.  Judi

    I have read several posts; have tried to uninstall all the hp software (ran the uninstall) but my computer still sees and impressions, but not matter what it doesn't scan!

    Your 2410 is maybe defective.  Reset it by holding the # and 6 keys while turning.

    Please make sure you have the latest driver installed, in this guide, installation of a printer Mac driver by using Apple Software Update. Then take a look at this post, Re: iMac OS X 10.9.3 scan driver for HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 a A910a to iMac doesn't seem to be, by my colleague @Sunshyn2005. That applies to your situation as well.

    I am more able to scan documents on my printer Hp Photosmart D110A. I use Mac OS X portable 10.7.5 version. It is connected wireless and I am able to print.

    When I get up and walk on my printer, I select SCAN > SCAN TO PC and I get the error message: TRY to SCAN from which SEE COMPUTER DOCUMENTATION.

    When I open HP Scan on my laptop, I click on the button SCAN. He says then PREPARING to SCAN. Then he said: SCANNER COMMUNICATION CANNOT BE ESTABLISHED. THE PRINTER IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILIABLE. ENSURE THAT YOUR DEVICE IS TURNED ON, CHECK THE CONNECTION AND MAKE SURE THAT YOUR NETWORK IS WORKING PROPERLY. IF THESE CONDITIONS ARE CORRECT, RESTART THE DEVICE AND TRY TO SCAN THE IMAGE.

    I restart my printer and it will not scan. Nothing wrong with my internet connection. Previously, before I had scanning problems, my wireless on my printer button was flashing and I couldn't print wireless. I uninstalled the software from my laptop and remove the printer. I reinstalled the HP software and added to the printer and that solved my printing problem.  Now, digitization is a problem. Can anyone help me please with my scan problem?

    So I THOUGHT about IT!

    After you download the HP driver online once again, I went to HP utility (I had to add my printer again going up in system preferences > Add button > IP and enter my IP address).

    In the HP utility I cliked the name of my printer under devices, then on the right side I cliked the additional settings under settings of the printer.

    Then, I clicked on the embedded Web Server Open button.

    My web browser opens and it is the HP embedded Web server for my printer. I clicked the Scan button and the scanned image.

    You will then need to right click to save the image, and it allows to print wireless.

    So after a few days of trial and error my scanning has been fixed.
