C6280: Select Auto duplex printing

Hello:
I use an HP running Windows Vista 32 bit Home Premium laptop.
I had already completely uninstalled my HP Photosmart C6280 all-in-one printer.
Today, I reinstalled it using the CD-ROM supplied with the printer.
When I went to print a MS Word document, I have not received the normal game
Print settings/options to choose.
I could not choose automatic double sided printing: it was not in the drop-down list.

When I chose to print from the file menu of Word, a print dialog box open: this is the title was the HP Photosmart series 6200 Document properties. From within this framework, I chose:
Properties > tab shortcuts printing > general impression every day.
in the lower right of this Panel, is a menu drop down titled "print on both sides.
It offers the following options to select:
Off, manual, booklet from left edge, right edge booklet.
The "Automatic" option was missing from this list: previously it was manual above.
I don't remember if the border left/right options were there before.
Directly below this menu drop down is only for the selection of Orientation: Portrait or landscape.
So now I'm unable to print 2-sided automatic.
If I click on Duplex instead of General Everyday, I have briefly see the automatic word in the menu, but is replaced by manual. In addition, for this mode Duplex, Orientation drop me u is missing/hidden. I don't know if this is supposed to be that way.

The problem: why I have more option to automatic 2-sided printing?

Any ideas?

Thank you

Addendum - I just "Device settings" under printer properties (by right-clicking on the device icon in the Panel control/devices & printers) and found the menu option drop down to 'install' double-sided printing. guess that's what you mean. Thank you!

HOWEVER, you CAN duplex from a computer hooked up wireless?

----------

The link to the Vista/Win 7Duplex printing troubleshooting guide does not work.

I have the same problem with my C7280 and Win 7. Originally, this computer was connected wireless, who apparently does not have an automatic duplex setting. (I had to reload the driver several times with the help of HP to properly operate wireless because the HP Solution Center was not available...) Anyway, I have now linked the computer to the C7280 by wire... and duplexing "automatic" is not available. " Where can I find the option "enable double-sided printing? Or do I have to uninstall and reinstall the driver again? Thanx

The duplexer should be available if wired or wireless.  The link for Vista/Win 7 Duplex Printing Troubleshooting Guide is here.  Sorry for the fault of previous hits, I've also updated the previous link.

For Windows 7, click Start, devices and printers, click with the right button on the settings of device Photosmart c7200 series printer properties and the duplex unit installed, apply the value.

    Hello

Try resetting the printing system and check to see if that can help you:

    * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
    Some Printers & Scanners.
Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.
Click OK. The printing system resets.

Click on the sign more and add the printer again.

Click the menu drop-down use and select the model of the printer default AirPrint option instead.

    Search for now no difference.

  • Is it possible to use duplex printing (no manual) on my HP C6280 on Microsoft Office 2007?

All the time that I got my HP C6280 all-in-one printer I have not known that it was possible to print double-sided directly with the printer.  The print on Microsoft Office dialog box has a check box for the manual Duplex which requires removal of the pile of pages and reinsert to print the second side.  However, today, for the first time, I used the printing on Google Chrome.  He had a check box for printing 2 sides and I was surprised when the page that has emerged from the printer was already printed on the front and the back!  I really want to use this feature of my printer all the time, not only Google chrome.  Normally, I do most of my printing from Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.).

Too bad.  I just read the guide to troubleshooting duplexing and found my answer.

  • Duplex printing on Macx 4240N

So, we have a printer HP Laserjet 4240n that fails to print duplex. After going to the layout, "Two faces" option is greyed out and unselectable. What can be done to fix this?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Indeed the 4240 is not AirPrint enabled printer.

The 4240n does not print duplex automatically, only the model "d" support automatic duplex printing and, therefore, the option both sides should be greyed out because he only reffers auto duplex.

    Any help?

    Rick

Hi @rickduncan56 and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I see that you receive errors of duplex printing.  I would like to help!

I recommend you to perform a power reset.   Unplug the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug back in the printer. Make sure that you connect the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any surge protector or power bar.

I suggest also download and run the HP print and Scan Doctor.

Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting operations. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
