C660-2EM Satellitensystem does not

Hello

Let me start by saying that I'm not very computer literate.
So, any help would be appreciated.

I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-2EM.
I bought my machine about 16 months ago.

Recently I had problems with my system is not responding.
This problem seems to happen more when I try to use Windows Live Photo gallery.
It may be relevant that I tried to download Picasa photo editing software from Google.
When the Picasa did not work I installed Digital Photo Professional from a disk, I had
with a Canon camera.

This seemed to make the problem worse and two uninstall programs did not help.
The problem seems to have spread to Internet Explore.

I stupidly did not have a recovery disk when I bought my laptop and F8 does not give me an option
to restore the factory settings.

This may seem like a silly question but should I try to save my photos on a disk before you buy a Toshiba restore disk?

> It may seem a silly question but should I try to save my photos on a disk before you buy a Toshiba restore disk?

Without a doubt!
Why?
Because the use of the Toshiba Recovery disk would format the HARD drive, which means you would lose all your images. I think that you don t want to lose your private photos? ;)

    Hello

As the title says, I have a c660 that has only a working USB port. The other is dead and has been dead since day 1.

I tried to uninstall the USB controllers, re-boot and allowing the automatic hardwarediscovery run and install again. This has not solved the problem unfortunately.

I am running windows 7 by the way.

Another had a similar problem or has any ideas?

    Thank you

    TFM

If only a single USB port does not work and if the other is OK then I think it is a dysfunction of the USB port and not related to any software.

So in this case, I think you should visit the ASP from Toshiba for a verification of the motherboard.
The USB ports are part of the motherboard and possibly you need new mobo.

    Please can someone help?

Edit: in the Device Manager, NETWORK CONTROLLER is not installed, but I can't find that anywhere and I can't find any Wi - Fi network!

Which Windows version have you installed on your laptop satellite?

  • Satellite C660-108 - Wireless does not work

    Hey everybody,

New to the forum, I had to sign up because of a problem with shame. I would like to apologize in advance because I know nothing about how computers work.

I have a toshiba satellite c660-108, windows 7 OS. Yesterday I was updating it and I used it very well after that I restarted. He stops and went to bed. Today, I turned on and he did a system restore, don't know why. So all went through and then it wouldn't connect to the internet wireless, only ethernet cable (http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=69127&tstart=0 - same problem as far as I can tell).

I'm in the middle of my diploma thesis and word does not work now, so I did a full factory restore hoping everything would be ok. This isn't.

Ive tried to download the driver toshiba wireless, just didn't work. It currently downloads Realtek but I'm sure it won't work either.

How to get another wireless network card?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    James

The essential is that you it works again.
    So congratulations. :)

    Please help move facebook webcam

    Greetings,

    Hello
If Facebook does not recognize your webcam right away when you want to share a video, click on the eye for cameras new button.

Your Adobe Flash Player settings will be displayed.
On the tab, make sure you only select the right type of camera you use with your computer.

On the tab, you may also need to 'allow' Facebook to access your camera and microphone.

If your settings does not work, try to uninstall Adobe Flash Player on your computer and download the latest Flash Player.

All you have to do to avoid this error, code19 is to uninstall Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator and Toshiba Recovery Disk reminder. I thought that it had been uninstalled before that I've updated but I was wrong. I just uninstall both and hey presto it works :)

  • Satellite C660 Graphics Driver does not update

I currently have the 8.15.10.2189 Intel HD Graphics driver version and want to upgrade to 8.15.10.2353 driver but everytime I download, unzip the file and open the file, it will extract and request "do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer" I click on "Yes" and then it disappears and nothing happens at all. I've waited long to see if something happens, but nothing happens.

Any info on why he is not update would be great.

I also noticed that the same Version of driver on different models of Toshiba Satellite has a different file size, I was wondering if I should download and try to install on my C660 because I assume that they would all be the same update of the driver. I don't know why they would be a different file size.

    Thanks for any info.

Can you please tell us what C660 you exactly (C660-xxx)?
What operating system do you use?
Are you using the original pre-installed OS that you got with your laptop?

  • Satellite C660/C660D - Webcam does not work

I recently got the Toshiba satellite c660/c660D laptop for my 21st birthday in July. It is said there is a built-in webcam, but I can't see it or find it. Also when I try to use videoconferencing on Skype, he said that it is not important which web camera connected.

I was wondering how I can get the web camera work? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

What operating system do you use?
When you open Device Manager check please if webcam is in the list. You can find it under imaging devices.

Also check the BIOS settings. I'm not sure but maybe webcam is disabled it. Check it out.

  • After the recovery with CD Satellite C660-1FE keyboard does NOT work

    Hello

A month ago I bought a Toshiba C660-1FE. After three weeks my HD broke down. I bought a new HD from Western Digital and I replaced the broken HD. I did a recovery of my HD image, so I had to order the recovery disks of the product on the Toshiba site (3 disks, which drive 1 and 3 were the only required for installation).

Now I have the problem that my laptop keyboard doesn't work. I am currently using a USB keyboard and a mouse to replace my keyboard and the touchpad of the notebook.

The keyboard of the laptop works fine in the BIOS. Therefore, I hope that it's just a driver issue.

    I have:

tried to find and install a lot of pilots since the toshiba site, no results.
tried to change settings in the bios (usb enabled).
tried to fix the problem by reinstalling all of the computer repeatedly.

The keyboard seems to work until windows loads. When the system is switched on I can press caps lock and num lock and the green lights will turn on. All this stops working once windows starts is displayed.

Perhaps another problem in Device Manager: under the graphics card, 2 subcategories have exclamation points: it says Mobile Intel (r) 4 series express chipset family twice! I can't seem to fix these with the drivers I can find either. When I check the settings I have this message (google translate since it is in Dutch):

+ Digital signature for the drivers for this device is necessary, cannot be verified. Possible after a recent hardware or software change a file that is installed signed incorrectly or damaged, or malicious software is installed from an unknown source. (Code 52) +.

+ You must restart the computer for this change to take effect. + (obviously I've tried that too)

Can someone give me it please help? I'm at the end of my intelligence.

    Sincerely,

    Daniel

    Hello

Keyboard works in the BIOS, it means that the keyboard material should be ok and the connection between the keyboard and the motherboard is established.

So, what could be bad? Keyboard driver?
Hmm, the keyboard driver is part of the Windows operating system and is installed automatically during the installation of the OS
    I would recommend following:
Go to Device Manager and remove the keyboard point.
You should see something like PS/2 standard keyboard
If you see a red x next to this unit, then it means that the keyboard is disabled.
Usually, you should be able to activate this again (in Device Manager).
If there is no Red Cross, so I you would recommend the deletion of this keyboard in the Manager list of devices, then reboot the laptop. Usually, the operating system should recognize the device automatically deleted and should install the driver too.

    Select this check box.

By the way: it is possible that you received a recovery disk wrong which could explain the problems after the recovery procedure

  • Satellite C660 BIOS update does not work

I downloaded the bios-20120613151531 and extraected in a folder with the same name.
But I don't see the list as indicated in the instructions, but I see only "BIOS_V200_WIN.exe".
    Double click that gives:
Install UEFI WinFlash 0.02 - this program will be closed

    What should I do?

    > But I see only "BIOS_V200_WIN.exe".

It is also a zipped package
You should unzip the BIOS_V200_WIN.exe by right-clicking and choosing extract here.
Now you should get the other files.

  • Bluetooth does not work on Windows in Satellite C660-A047

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my laptop (satellite c660-A047) Bluetooth does not work on windows (7 and 8), but it works very well under Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Backtrack).

I have an outgoing method :) to do run on windows, start Linux Live then set the Bluetooth adapter to the off State, and then reboot (do not stop, restart only), and then start windows this time this Bluetooth adapter works great and updated automatically in the Device Manager.

To use Bluetooth on windows I have to do the same steps: (.)

If someone wants to know all the details to help me solve these curious case, I will be grateful.

Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you soon.

The laptop supports Wlan Atheros / module combo BT.
This means that a single module shares WiFi and BT connectivity.

Using Win 7 you must add the additional drivers called filter for driver Atheros BT package.
So first the Atheros WLan driver must be installed, secondly Atheros BT filter after battery Toshiba BT.

To help to win 8, you must install two components of driver manually to enable the Bluetooth feature: System Toshiba + Atheros Bluetooth driver driver filter

  • Cannot install Win 8 - Satellite Pro C660 does not detect HARD drive

    Hello

My HARD drive died, so I decided to upgrade my Satellite Pro C660 - 1 9 to an SSD.
I made a USB bootable with Win8 and starts very well.

The problem is that it does not detect my SSD, so I can proceed with the installation.
SSD appears in BIOS but not in Windows Installer.
He said that there is a missing driver.

I downloaded the AHCI drivers (XP, only ones available) and even in this case, after you have selected the only rider that appears, it says no new device found.

I tried to change the SATA from AHCI mode to compatibility mode and it's the same thing...

    What can I do?

    Thanks for the help.
    Best regards
    Bruno Moreira

More old Windows XP need a driver AHCI Intel's but I think this isn't a problem with SATA driver missing because as far as I know Windows 8 as well as Win 8.1 already contains the drivers to recognize the SSD or HARD disk drive.
In addition, the installation of the OS should be possible even if the driver would be added for this procedure, you must use the "compatibility" mode
As you say, the compatibility mode is not working too, so I think there is another problem.

However, page driver Toshiba also provides a driver Intel RST (Intel Rapid Storage Technology) (Windows 8 - updated) you can try to add during the installation of the OS.

But I m wondering if you would be able to install this Win 8 on common SATA HDD.
Have you tried to format the SSD using a different computer, then install Win 8?
    Give it a try.
