  So, I bought an Intel® PRO/Wireless 2200BG Minipci card. After that I joined the card in the laptop, it has been detected by windows as a new network device. I downloaded and installed the drivers of Windows XP (because I have Windows XP installed on the laptop) of Intel (9.0.4.17) home page. The installation worked perfectly.

  Now I tried to connect to a wireless network, but the software Intel says that the card is on 'off '. So I changed the menu drop-down on "on", which resulted in a mistake in German: "Die Intel (r) PRO/Wireless-Netzwerkverbindung ist noch deaktiviert.» Aktivieren Sie sie über your Hardware-switch. "(which means something like 'network Intel (r) PRO/Wireless connection is turned off.   Ive had my Toshiba laptop a couple of weeks now and the stability of wireless is trying to grind on me...

  I had an older Toshiba laptop that I have connected to my linksys router with a PC card wireless of linksys... absolutely no problem at all with him for over a year...

  Since buying this one with built in the wireless, the only way I cn get the connectivity Toshiba dctor to detect the connection is too "no broadcast" disable my router, my neighbor commented that he could get on my network!

  Sometimes when the PC is start the 'LAN' and 'Wireless' icons on the departure to the high bar take ages to appear... and when they finally do a wireless has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it... and the internet does not work...

• Satellite L300D-243 and WLAN - limited connectivity

  I just got a L300D-243 and it is especially beautiful, but... when I try to connect to our wireless internet, I get a notification "limited connectivity". I use pack system it is not the fault, known in the pack 2 system. It works fine when I use the cable from the internet, but which sort of defeated the purpose of having a computer that I can carry around.

  Please click the link posted by Feliks. It seems that it could solve your problem with the WIFI connection.

  I recommend also to install the last driver Intel's WLAN. On my Satellite L300, I had some problems with the WIFI connection and a driver update could solve the problem! :)

• New Satellite U400 cannot use the Wlan in Vista

  This is my first post! I just bought a whole new race of Toshiba Satellite U400 Vista Home Premium and I cannot get the wifi to work with my router (which works very well with a Toshiba Quosmio, philips, Nokia N85 phone and iPod laptop).

  He sometimes worked but is virtually unusable.

  I get access: Local only and whateverf as I do, I can't work properly.
  I use encryption WEP 128 bit on a router/modem US Robotics 9106.

  Any help gratefully otherwise received I will take this back to the shop because it is not a usable product.

  I recommend you do the BIOS update. Here you can compare the current version on your laptop, latest on the Toshiba download page.
  Compare also the WLAN driver version.

  After BIOS update the WLAN test new functionality. In a first time without any form of encryption.
  Please post the results.

  The son laptop works well 24/7 If you use the local cable network on web access, but as soon as we install Wifi it crashes on a regular basis (2 or 3 times an hour) with BSOD error messages - normally those helps Microsoft cant (via the event viewer report) with but it is often talking about Toshiba phone services but no solution.

  Tried two (netgear) pcmcia & usb (agere) wifi cards - exactly same problem can not maps.

  In desperation re-formatted & resettled Xp & all drivers Toshiba of original Cd of Tosh, then Xp Sp2 & then all the updates/fixes engineering including the bios from site Web of Tosh. Still crashes.

  If the software has - v installed or not makes no difference.

  A 512 extra ram on top of 256 original.

  Any ideas?

  Please believe me that it is not easy to say why the BSOD appears!
  From my personal experience, that the BSOD can occurs because of the problem of critical software, or because of the problem of equipment.

  In your case, it looks like a hardware problem (this is my personal opinion)
  Generally, the laptop should work with the external WLan USB card. I put t see no reason why it shouldn't work t.

  You said that you have updated the RAM on this laptop, I noticed on many laptops than similar issues after a RAM upgrade.

  For example; I inserted the new 1 GB RAM on my old Satellite and received a BSOD. I used a compatible but the BSOD appeared sometimes.
  After the passage of the modules to another location memory my laptop works properly!

  Please check this box. Maybe you could check if the same thing happens with your old module!

  Recently got a Toshiba L755 and have a problem with the playback audio & video since I got it.
  I've updated the latest drivers for the Conexant HD Audio card and it made no difference.

  Essentially during playback there are a sound intermittent distorted during playback mp3, video playback and online stream.

  I tried different programs and the same thing, however, when I have a LAN cable presents no problem - it's only when I'm connected to the wireless network.
  I have a netgear router which works fine.

  Can someone please tell me what might cause the wireless create this problem and how to fix?

  Strange you noticed this in battery mode and mode of AC adapter as well?

  I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

   The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. Obviously because it is a question of Toshiba... I was told to ring Toshiba, but because it's the weekend they are not available.

  I have a short model "Toshiba Satellite Pro L300-156" (PSLB1E).

  The system state is:

  I used the recovery CD (to install Windows XP and other software on this CD).
  I've upgraded to the latest version of the BIOS (1.50, 10/07/2008) for my laptop and I downloaded all updates for Windows XP.
  I installed the latest WLAN driver for my WIFI (Realtek RTL8187B) card.

  The problem is still there:
  Every 12 hours (exactly on the minute!) drops connections.
  Not only the Internet, but the local connection.
  It is even a kind of matrices.

  Both a connection to a local computer and "mIRC" (ssh/telnet-program) to "PuTTY" (program-chat-IRC) says "network error caused abortion of software".

  These ping connections not, they die instantly in a tenth of a second.

  I guess it can be caused by a 3rd third party tool that was installed on your laptop.

  I mean it of really strange that disconnected EXCATLY after 12 hours of use.

  "I have goggled a bit for the message: network error: Software caused connection abort."
  And found that this error is displayed if the Windows network code decides that your network connection is dead. This will happen when you remove the cable network Ethernet-connected computer, or if Windows has any other reason to believe the entire network has become unreachable.

  I think you should check the settings of your WLan router. My router refresh / disconnects after 23,59 hours to ensure that the IP address has changed.

  I have a problem with my wify conecction.
  When Im near the router, the conecction wifi works perfectly, I get a full wifi indicator on windows and I have no trouble surfing the web.

  But when I move 10 or 12 feet away from the router, although the wifi indicator gets three or four cover bands, my laptop can't do the conection.

  It's weird, because my ipod works perfect and other laptops also.

  Hope I explained it correctly.

  I tried the latest version of the driver but that does not solve the problem, I have change some settings of power, but that it does not either.

  May I ask what you have the WLan card?
  As far as I know similar issue is resolved by upgrading the driver.
  Maybe not used the latest Wlan driver available?

  PS: have you noticed the problem even if the laptop is connected to the adapter?
