Cable internet connection problems

I can connect to the internet via a wireless connection, but I can't seem to connect using an ethernet cable, I tested with a portable ion the same cable and it works with that. I don't know what to do. the problem would be that I have connected to hamatchi? the icon beneath him seems to be an icon of ethernet cable. When you look in the folder 'change the map settings', I can't find a connection to the local host.

  • Strange internet connectivity problem

    Hello!

I'm having a connectivity problem I have never met before. I use a wireless router from Apple with internet cable.

Yesterday, my computer would be is no longer in contact with my router wi - fi. I get a message that the network could not be attached (I ran the Diagnostics wireless, but it's a whole lot of sense to me empty files). However, I also have a Roku, and which IS connected to the WiFi without problem. I completely stopped and restarted the computer, no joy. Reset the modem and the router, no joy. Still works with Roku, not with the computer. But the weird part is, I have Optimum Online, which allows subscribers to log-in to its hotspots, and it worked! I am connected Optimum wi - fi network on my computer right now.

So I don't know where is the problem! It is not the router, because this is related work with Roku and is not the computer, because it is connected and working with the Optimum hotspot. What gives?

    Try this!

Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > network

Select a Wi - Fi connection in the sidebar and then click on the button "Advanced...". "in the lower right corner of the screen

In the list of preferred networks, delete the name of your Wi - Fi network

Click on the "OK" button to save that change and then 'apply' in the network preferences window.

Now, go to the Applications folder > utilities > Keychain Access

Make sure that "Login" keychain is selected and "All items" in the category is selected in the sidebar

Use the search field to find items that Keychain with the name of your Wi - Fi network and remove

    Quit Keychain Access

Now try and access your Wi - Fi network

    Hi Stephen94,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.
    a. Since when are you facing this problem?
    b. were you able to access the internet on your computer as soon as possible?

I suggest you to reset the TCP/IP stack and check if that helps.

Method 1: To reset the stack TCP/IP go to this article and either click on "Fix it for me" or follow the instructions to fix it yourself: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357 .

If the same problem still persists, then try the next method.

    Method 2: Router/modem power cycle.

    (1) turn off the power to the modem (unplug). If there is the router turn off the power (unplug).
    (2) unplug the Ethernet cable that connects the modem to the back of the computer or router on the back of the computer. Disconnect at the end of the computer. If there is a router, follow the same steps, disconnect at the end of the computer.
    (3) shuts down the computer (not restart).
    (4) wait at least 4 minutes.
    (5) switch on the modem. If there is a router enable the router as well. Wait for the lights on the modem\router to stabilize.
    (6) connect the Ethernet cable to the computer.
    (7) turn on the computer.

  • Internet connection problem: WRH54G + Beetel 220BX modem + ISP-Airtel India

    Hello!

I bought a router Linksys WRH54G wireless yesterday, but I can not put in place. The problem is that my router is not able to connect to the internet. During the installation, while checking my internet connection wizard gives error - ' router is not able to connect to the internet. I have a protocol PPPoE connection.

My current setup with the modem is:

    DHCP active...: Yes
    Autoconfiguration enabled...: Yes
    ... The IP address: 192.168.1.100
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 192.168.1.1.
    DHCP server...: 192.168.1.1.

    The router's default settings are:

    I.P................ 192.168.1.1

    user name... (leave blank)

    admin password

I tried to enter the type of service as PPPoE via the method of configuration of the web browser and given the user name and password, but it is not always connect to the internet. I have a Beetel 220BX modem and my ISP is airtel.

You say that when you connect to your computer, through an ethernet cable, directly to the Beetel 220BX, you get the IP 192.168.1.100?

If the answer is Yes, then turn off your network and disconnect the Beetel and the WRH54G and follow these steps:

    (1) your Beetel made the PPPoE connection for you, your WRH54G must be on "type of Internet connection" «DHCP - auto»

    (2) your Beetel uses 192.168.1.x subnet, so you will need to put the WRH54G in a "local IP address" to 192.168.2.1

    (3) turn off your network

    (4) with an ethernet cable, connect the Beetel ethernet port to the Internet port on the WRH54G.  If the Beetel has a USB port, do not connect anything to it.  The power of your network.  It should work.

  • Internet connection problem, error: status WAN down.

Hello. We have a Windows 7 and a Motorola 2247-N8 wireless modem/router. Recently, our internet connection has dropped. I was able to reboot the router, but on the main login page, it says "Status WAN" is declining and the PPP username and password are empty. These two things are related? Can I do to solve this problem? Thank you.

Thanks for the information.  Your observation of the Westell modem/router is in line with what your ISP says you: your modem is assigned an IP address by a DHCP server at your ISP.

Your two pieces of equipment have in fact several parties.   Both of them have modems, which is the interface between you and your ISP.  Both of them have routers.  A router is required between the two networks; in your case, this is the Internet on one side and your local area network (LAN) on the other side.  Unit integrated Motorola also a wireless access point.

You only need one of each part: a modem, a router, and a wireless access point.

Normally, you should be able to use the Motorola device and renounce the Westell unit.  However, the unit modem Motorola seems to have a problem to connect to your ISP.  According to the User Guide, that I found for him, this unit of Motorola doesn't seem to be able to connect to the type of system used by your ISP.

You can use parts of two devices: the modem and router Westell unit and wireless point from the Motorola unit.

I'm going to assume that this is the User Guide for the your Motorola device--> http://www.arrisi.com/modems/datasheet/2247-n8/2247_user_manual.pdf

Connect an Ethernet cable between your computer and one of 4 yellow Ethernet ports on the unit of Motorola.  Open a web browser and type http://192.168.1.254 in the address bar and press enter (see page 13 operating Guide).  You may or may not assign a password for the configuration utility (you should end this) as described in step 4.  Skip steps 5 to 7.

Click the "Configure" (page 16), then click on "DHCP server".  Uncheck the box "Enable DHCP server", and then click "apply changes".  You want to disable the DHCP server in the Motorola unit because you plan to use the DHCP server in the Westell unit.

If you already haven't, go back to the configuration menu and click 'Wireless' and set "of basic wireless settings" (p. 21), you want wireless to be activated, you want the 'Standard' to be compatible with your laptop and other wireless devices (B/G/N is the most flexible; use G or N-only if you know that all your wireless devices use the same wireless standard).  I recommend uncheck Wireless Protected Setup.  "Channel" should be 1, 6 or 11 (you may or may not need to change the channel; in general, this is necessary if you live in an area where there are many nearby wireless networks, as a residential building).

In the "Wireless security" (p. 23) article Choose WPA2 if all your wireless devices support this standard. Otherwise, use WPA.  Don't use WEP or anything.  Do not 'hide the SSID' or "Block Wireless Bridging."  If you wish, enter a new name SSID (p. 24). If you do this, do not use your name or address in the SSID name.

Make sure you click on "Apply changes" once you make a configuration change.

At this point, you can exit the utility of configuration of the Motorola.

Disconnect all connected to DSL entered the Motorola phone.

Plug the phone cable between your wall socket and the entrance of LILY on the Westell unit.

Connect an Ethernet cable between the port of 'Data' at the back of the Westell unit and one of the yellow Ethernet ports on the unit of Motorola.

At this point, you should be able to access the Internet using any device connected by wifi to the Motorola unit or (b) any device connected to one of the 3 Ethernet ports yellow on the unit from Motorola which is not used to connect to the Westell unit.

    Last words:

If you created a password to access the device configuration utility (and you should), write it down on a sheet of paper and the paper to the tape drive.

The IP address, you need to use in order to access the configuration of the Westell unit unit is 192.168.1.1.  Write this on the same sheet of adhesive paper such as password and the Westell Westell unit.

The IP address, you need to use in order to access the Motorola unit configuration utility is 192.168.1.254.  Write this down on the same sheet of paper as the Motorola password and stick it to the Motorola unit.

The DHCP server in the Westell unit by default local IP addresses assignment between 192.168.1.15 and 192.168.1.47.  This should be more than enough.  You can check the IP address local to any computer by opening a command prompt window and typing in Windows

    ipconfig/all (press on enter)

This will show you the IP addresses assigned to all NICs (wired and wireless).  You need only be concerned with IPv4 (not IPv6) addresses.

Note that if you open a web browser and go to a site such as http://www.whatismyip.com/ , you will be able to see the IP address public attributed to your Westell modem by your ISP's DHCP server.  In this case, "public" means that all users can see at this address.  However, router Westell "cache" local to your devices IP addresses so they are not visible on the Internet.

You have McAfee? McAfee has been updated at the same time as the last batch of updates from Windows 7 and this is the cause of problems of internet connection for most, if not all, users of McAfee.

See the communication from this "criticism" - McAfee

Some customers may experience a loss of network connectivity and/or errors in McAfee Security Center after a recent update

You should make the fix McAfee, if necessary. There are corresponding communications for their enterprise products.

I had to run the removal of McAfee Development tool a few times before and it caused a problem with the license if the PC was not connected to the internet during the abduction. Due cat of McAfee support reset their files in order to allow the relocation-reactivation. Here is their link cat - McAfee - media contains the link to the cat

  • 6525 - resettlement and internet connection problems Deskjet

    Hello

yesterday I managed to install my new printer hp deskjet 6520 (5) on my HP Pro 3520 (AiO) with win 7 - using a wi - fi connection. Then, I also installed the printer on my laptop (sony vaio) - also use wifi. The two communicated yesterday with printer. But I have not tried to use brought down PC after install portable printer

Nevertheless, today HP 3520 Pro could not have communicated with printer. Software repeatedly said the printer cannot be connected to the PC (while printing through the laptop was ok...). No miracle has helped so I decided to uninstall and reinstall the printer.

I've uninstalled it successfully but when I try to use the hp guide software installation (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-122330-1&cc=cz&dlc=cs&lc=cs... he just said initially that I am not connected to the internet... Although I have no problem with the internet connection (I even tried connecting cable...).

Help, please... I do not know how to do this

    Thanks in advance

It is now resolved... I do not understand this, but when I turned off my laptop, the printer begins to communicate with PC...

If HP - is there a reason why cell phone (with the installed printer) refuse the communication between the PC (HP Pro 3520) and hp printer deskjet 6525?

  • No Internet connection - problem with Dimension 4400

I have an icon in the lower right task bar with the little yellow exclamation point and a message that connectivity can be limited or non-existent (it is non-existent; I have no internet connection).  I can connect my laptop to a wall outlet without any problem, so I think it's safe to say that the problem is with something in the computer, not the ethernet cable or the router.  I've tried everything I can think of, including: (1) deactivation/activation of the connection; (2) 'fix' the connection; (3) restart router; (4) network card replacement and updating its drivers; (5) by moving the network card to a different location; (6) in an attempt to connect via USB using an ethernet converter / USB; (7) update the chipset; and (8) changing the battery in the motherboard.  So far, nothing has made a difference.  All my friends computer, as well as the Verizon tech support, is puzzled.  Any ideas?

  • I connect through IE 8.0. Firefox will not connect. The icon of waiting rolls and rolls until the screen saver is used. Is it my computer? My cable internet connection? Firefox?

I'm going to use IE 8.0 to write this. Although it is slower than usual, at least it connects. Since Firefox updated to v10.0.2; It connects, even at my homepage. The icon of connection (such as the hourglass in Windows); It just rolls and rolls. It's never connects or logs at a time or later (at best). The screensaver comes into play due to inactivity, even if it tries to connect. Is it my computer (I know I need more RAM)? What is my internet connection cable (I already called the provider and set up a tech visit). Or does this version of Firefox?

Who did it! Restored default on McAfee I.S. and restarted. Right this time. If this happens again, I will remember what to do. Thank you!
