Cable XBOX 360 controller on Windows 7 64 bit problem

I have a 360 wired remote for my pc a few days ago, and it worked fine up until now. Whenever I have connect the controller on my pc, it lights up in the 1st and 4th quadrants for a fraction of a second, and then the whole circle lights up and flashes 4 times, there is a long pause between each flash. I've tried different USB ports and uninstalling/reinstalling drivers. I look in Device Manager and I can't find the common "Controller for Windows class" option and I have an ethernet controller driver is not working and I can't get the driver to work. I put my controller in my other PC which has Windows 7 32 bit, and it worked fine. Nothing works and I can't find solutions online, I am I supposed to do?

I also changed the default controllers controls and set left lean & thin right to left analog stick left/right as PRIMARY & I updated lean left & lean right D - pad left/right as SECONDARY controls.

    Hi Zxcvbnma,

    ·         Is the specific issue with only Need for Speed or does happen with other games as well?

If the problem is specific only with Need for Speed, you can try to uninstall the game and reinstall the game and check if it works fine without any problems.

I also suggest that you uninstall Xbox 360 controller drivers and reinstall the drivers that could help you solve the problem.

Check the settings of the game. You can also connect the controller to the other computer and use it and check if the problem still persists.

It seems that many people (including me, now) start meeting audio distortion after they plug a Xbox 360 controller for windows on their computer for the first time. The Xbox controller draw right on the edge for a USB port, putting pressure on all of the USB bus, especially if there are other USB devices. If you get an external USB powered hub to add to your system and plug the controller, you will solve your problem.

I had the same problem with my Creative Labs USB sound card and the Xbox controller at the same time. I picked up a Zonet similar to this (different brand):

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16817182168

I plug my controller, keyboard, and mouse dongle in the hub and plug my sound card directly into one of the ports on the back of the PC. Problem solved! I got no sound since problem.

  • Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows all of a sudden not connect into any USB port

Original title: Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows issue.

Hi, I bought this back in 2008 and it has been flawless since today... I tried to use it and the controller is unable to connect to the receiver.

There is no light on the receiver, even when I plug it into a different USB port there is still nothing... I even tried another computer. I assume the receiver is nakered?. Can anyone shed some light on this?

If the receiver is so broken, can I buy this receiver on its own and that it will be compatible with my wireless controller Xbox 360 instead of having to buy another expensive controller...

    Thank you very much.

Im looking forward to buying the windows xbox 360 wireless controller. I would like to know what microsoft and other games is compatible with the pad at the moment. IM in the current world of warcraft and halo so far. I want to know if its worth buying.

    my pc is

    640 GB hd
    Windows vista 64-bit

    Hello AxeMankd,

I have the 360 controller and it works with all the games that are supported controls for controllers.  Most recent games have even profiles of controller for the 360 controller.  The only game that I wasn't able to use it with was the Call of Duty 4, but who were able to evolve with an update on the side of the games.  There has been some problems with some games and wireless controller but not the wired version.  It was a driver problem which is probably not a factor now.  I have not tested version wireless with my PC because I have not bought the wireless PC part, but I don't have two types of controller.

Happy fragging I have a simple philosophy: just assume everyone is a piece of _ and then be pleasantly surprised if you find someone who is not.

  • Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller For Windows (wired connection) Hardware questions

Hello, I bought the controller the year last of the Thailand, and I currently live in Bangladesh. It was greater at all times and served me well until today, it started acting weird, all of a sudden.
It is not a problem of driver for it, but it must be done with the controller itself. See, when the wire is same slightly shifted, the controller disconnects. It's probably something wrong with the wire, correct? But, what do I do now? I can't play anything or use the controller. It works, but the part of the wire where it connects to the controller seems very fragile and disconnects to the slightest budge. Please, any help is appreciated! :(

  • Xbox 360 controller for windows no longer works

Hi all, I am new to the community so I hope I put this in the right section.

Basically, I got my Wired 360 for a few years now, and after works perfectly well for all this time the controller has stopped working. When I plug in my laptop, lights flash 1 to 4 times to less than a second and then nothing. When looking online I was not able to find anything on this issue stating the specific lights temporarily.

I tried to reinstall the drivers for it but it does not work, and the controller does not appear in either Device Manager. I can't check if it works on my xbox until Saturday, but I was hoping that someone here knows of this problem and has a solution for him.

    Hello

As we tried most of the troubleshooting steps, the issue seems to be with the Xbox settings. I suggest you post in the Xbox forums.

  • Receiver wireless XBOX 360 will not connect to the controller with Windows XP 32-bit

I bought the receiver the other day and tried it on my computer. I installed the stuff that came on the disc, no problem. I plugged the receiver and tried to turn on the controller and it simply not picking up the controllers. I tried on all 3 of the controllers that I own, but nothing helped. I looked the problem on google and all say to install the new drivers on the "unknown device", but that doesn't seem to be the issue.   My computer doesn't pick up the 'Xbox 360 wireless receiver for Windows' device no problem. But when I try to sync the receiver with the controllers I get nothing.  He also says that I have driver 2.1.0.1349 if that helps

  • Someone there suggested sites I can download PC games that are compatible with an Xbox 360 controller.

I want to try the game on my PC and or laptop before buy you not on my Xbox 360. I'm having a very hard time finding anything. I know that I can try the game on my Xbox for free, but I don't know if the game works with the Microsoft Xbox 360 wireless controller, on both the Xbox and my PC.

It has nothing to with such sites to download, and for several years (since the beginning of "Games for Windows") the XBOX controller has (unfortunately for some use that do not use the XBOX controller) the configuration of the default controller for the most part, or at least, many games.

    A quick search shows-
Why the XBOX controller is not compatible with some games (pre monopoly$ oft games for windows for the most part).
    http://www.giantbomb.com/Xbox-360-controller-support-for-PC/92-2465/
I noticed that some XBOX controllers are advertised as being a PC version. This may be due to the version of PC with different software than the controller for XBOX
    http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/Xbox-360-controller-for-Windows

A bit of XBOX to the propaganda of the PC-
    http://www.xboxcontrollerforpc.NET/

What really boils down to is change the key assignments to suit you via options settings for games 'control' or make a profile using the software supplied with the controller.
Controllers that have their own Win7 compatible profiling software will work with any game. It's just a matter of a few minutes to assign buttons for the commands.
Logitech controllers will work with any PC game like him having Xinput and support a direct entry (monopoly$ oft's foray into PC games made a little less friendly user with some games).

I know you probably are used to the XBOX controller and can save money.
no controller for FPS and action games, beats a mouse and a keyboard for accuracy.
Keyboards are also best for RPG and other games with many orders.
Personally, I never liked using a keyboard, so I use the command style - Logitech G13 is the
better yet. The Belkin Nostromo n52 and n52te, are good for. It is more comfortable to have the keys online, and the control stick on the G13 works well also.

If you are looking for simple plug-and-play gaming console is the best option of game. PC offers more versatility for those who don't mind tweaking.
