Call anti-piracy

I received a call from someone with a heavy accent, stating that he was calling from Windows and I wanted to protect my computer from hackers by installing a software anti-piracy.  He had me to download files from www.ammyy.com and remote access to my computer.  After running through the directories on my C drive, he asked the name of my Bank.  I give him the name of my Bank, but if my computer has been hacked?

Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. In the future, do not make them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

Please see:

http://www.Microsoft.com/en-GB/security/online-privacy/avoid-phone-scams.aspx

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.

These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

If you have given them access to your PC then what you do will depend on the type of information you store on it, and how to use it. Personally, I would, at a minimum:

·        Change all passwords that may have been compromised. Doing this on another PC you can

have been infected and send the new password to scammers.

·        Make a clean (including a format) install of Windows or restore to factory condition *. You will lose all

data, so back to a separate drive. If you do not feel confident to do this to go

professional/expert help.

·        Check the above return for viruses using at least two independent analysers of up-to-date antivirus

(only to install a scanner in real-time, however).

·        Tell your bank, credit card companies, etc., what happened.

·        Watch for suspicious charges/payments on your credit cards and lodging.

·        Watch your e-mail accounts for any suspicious activity.

·        Consider to tell the local police / authorities.

·        With the main exception of cleaning your PC, a large part of what you need to do is common sense

kind of things. Think how the villain could take advantage of all that was on your PC and to take measures to

fight against it.

* Some people recommend less drastic measures involving controls standard antimalware. The choice is yours - it's a question of confidence in the security of your system.

  • Someone called on the address IP of Windows hacking. What is a call of the farce?

Everybody out there make phone calls regarding piracy of Windows IP addresses?  He, Michael Williams, wanted me by my computer, but at that moment, I had someone at the door, so could not return to him immediately.  He then hung up just to call back later.  When I started to ask him to contact # s for Microsoft, he hung up.  I think it was a call of the stuffing, but wanted to check that.  Anyone knows how can I check that?  Or someone else gets these calls?

Not a joke but a scam. Treat your PC like your home: do not give access to the foreigners. Microsoft does not call unsolicited support.

  • Anti-Aliasing when free rotation

Is it possible to disable it? I have FW MX 2004.

Well, the problem is that you're dealing with a bitmap image. "Anti-aliasing" only applies to the actual drawing process when you're dealing with a bitmap image. After he is fired, it is just a bunch of pixels on the canvas. During the transformation of the bitmap image, you deal with these pixels of resampling interpolation. You have two options:

    (1) change the mode to interpolation for "nearest neighbor". This option can be found in your Preferences dialog box. This will avoid any softening (what you call anti-aliasing) that you rotate, but I doubt it will look like all good after a rotation.

    (2) use vector paths, with 1px hard stokes (like pencil > 1px hard). It is much more flexible, because not only you will be able to rotate and fireworks will be "repaint" the race for you, so you will have no problem of interpolation, but you will also be able to change this path in the future, or even, at any time, change the run options. Try the vector path tool (found under the pen tool) to get free race like the pencil tool, only drawing with the live vectors.

  • 6605 cell "windows not genuine" HP Pavilion phone in support is a joke!

I need help, seems that the computer portable pavilion 6605 wants to keep telling myself that I use the version of windows is not genuine. It's already happened and I called support and they give me a number, and it works. This has happened about 4 times since I bought this laptop. However this time they say I have to buy an extended warranty because they can not help me unless I do. It's their fault, and they expect me to pay for it. Anyone know what I can do to save the correct product key?

Well, I have the solution but first Nascar4u? I buy a computer with pre-installed software and ask accusingly why I think that there is someone elses fault? Really? Let me see, uh, I can't not software preloaded uh! and as has been pointed out by the distinguished Professor 'this topic is popping up more' on the forums from everywhere, so I can't be the only one to have a problem then...

In any case move my problem seemed to be double first Microsoft to aggressive with their quest anti piracy and greed of the HP Support! the first problem solved thanks to a free technical support offered by Microsoft, and here is the solution! Re-enter just your microsoft product key when the real message, then when and if it reappears with a color error or another real popup back then and restart and congratulations, you are without using a real microsoft product ta - da. See

MS as a fairly simple solution but that is very, very, very annoying! which brings me to the second problem phone HP in support and they want to buy a tech support package to even begin to help me with this apparently simple solution. Lets think about this, lets see this problem apparently happens all the time and the solution is apparently simple, so instead of offering this simple solution for its customer base for free to promote oh lets say goodwill amung is the customer base HP phone support would rather extort customers thusly to upset their customers, hmmmm , cant really stupid problem, so my solution to this little problem is not not to face the beast again. In my particular case, I'll write a letter to HP about this whole situation and the simple solution. I will use also does that little cost them greed and in my case I happen to have a little corporation that uses several HP products and all must be renewed in May. I'll spend time between now and then research different brand names, you know something other than HP to replace these. I could kill two birds with one stone and simply convert to Mac (if people wernt so pretentious mac) but I guess that now everything's on the table. Thanks for letting me rant problem solved and nascar4u, ' then he someone of another fault that YOUR OS is messed up "really? In any case thank you for your forum and thanks for your input Mike.

  • I see a lot of Windows pirated software on the internet.

    Original title: hacking

I was browsing the web this morning and stumbled on what they call "Windows Loader", and to my surprise, I found tons of websites giving detailed instructions on how to download a genuine copy of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and even Windows 8, and then how to activate the free.

Why Microsoft does not make something on these activities?

The movie and music industries have been very successful to close these sites that distribute movies and songs of copy right.

What is Microsoft actually allows to do? If it stops these web sites, these people prefer to use Apple or Linux. Yes may thus allows this to happen and makes its statistics higher OS. Microsoft is also especially make money OEMS and enterprise customers. Sold at retail is not much more than a profit anyway.

    What do you think?

    Charles.

    Hello

Microsoft is not unaware of piracy. Windows is probably the most pirated software on the planet.

Sites that encourage piracy are usually in countries where laws are not as stringent as those in other countries. This makes it much more difficult to stop the pirates.

  • You can hide virtual machine within a program?

I tried to play Sword of the New World on a virtualized xp platform.  I think I had it finally work because Direct X 9 works well and it didn't crash at startup.  However, it is an online game and safety online and measures anti-piracy captured that he was running on a virtual machine, and he said something to the effect of, "Sorry, you cannot run this program on a virtual machine."  I think that a program should not be biased against virual machines, after all, what have ever to it?  The program is called x-trap BTW.  I don't want to try to work around x-trap by disabling or other because it might compromise my account.  However, I would like to know if I can hide the fact that the game runs in a virtual machine of the game.

Any suggestion would be appreciated and we thank you in advance.

  • FF38.0.5 redirects to pages that doesn't open, asp/images/bg.png, won't Google as default browser.

I just put to day and all of a sudden when I try to log in to some forums or Web pages, I see the page for a split second, then I see the box asking for Adobe Flash for a split second then it redirects to a page with the suffix /asp/images/bg.png, and the page displays "Page not found"

I tried trashing and reinstalling FF.

Could check you that you have all the extensions not recognized on the addons page? Either:

    • Command + shift + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. So, if in case of doubt, disable the extensions on the right side (or if it is completely unknown, delete). Remember that extensions are optional; none is included with Firefox.

Often, a link will appear above at least an extension disabled to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links in the last step.

Is that what helps you regain control of Firefox?

If the problem persists, you use Kaspersky Security software? Some versions have a feature called "Anti-banner" who have been known to cause redirects to a GIF file. This is a different file, but it seems pretty similar to this problem.
