Call Assistant DAQ of Labview code

Hello

How can I call the DAQ Assistant dialog box

from Labview code, as well as a program compiled with Labview runtime?

Now, I can set the Express Assistant DAQ vi in the block diagram, but cannot be changed during execution.

But the configuration of data acquisition is not static. The end user must change.

A similar dialogue is used inside the Measurement & Automation Explorer with a task global DAQmx.

Can I call this dialog of Labview?

  • New Daq with the Daq Assistant in the filtering code

    Hei,

I have a NI USB-6225 DaqMx I used a couple of years. When I started with LabVIEW, I found the Daq Assistant to the best way to measure the voltage with my Daq etc. My company has purchased another DaqMx NI USB-6225 and now I have a big problem: the Daq Assistant in my old Vi does not work with the new data acquisition. I understand why there is this problem, but I do not know how to solve. I found this code on the forum who finds that Daq is connected:

The problem is that Daq Assistant do not have an entry for it, and it gives me an error if I try to run the code with a different device than the original, I used when I created the code.

Is there a way to solve this, so I don't have to convert all the Assistants Daq normal code?

    Hello again,

    two options:

    (1) as the old software is related to 'Dev1' you must rename your new device to this alias and skip/rename the old device (and lack).

    (2) rewrite your old software does not become is not dependent on the name of the alias for the data acquisition card...

    It's your choice!

  • Gap between the screws with the NI 9237 & Assistants DAQ

I have a set of scales attached to a NI 9237 module in a cDAQ 9174. I have two separate screws following the gross load cell output (mV/V). The two screws acquire through a DAQ Assistant. Two Assistants DAQ are configured in the same way, and yet they have different output values. Reads around 0.003 mV/V being not charged while the other reads 0.03 mV/V - an order of magnitude difference. Any thoughts on why this is? Thank you!

    Thanks David,.

Finally, I followed him there down to a calibration offset null being applied to a DAQ Assistant and not the other. Is there a way to remove this discrepancy in the DAQ Assistant? It is not evident. I only noticed after DAQmx code conversion and managed to remove it it.

  • Impossible to get assistant daq to appear

    Hi all

I am currently using student Labview 2009 edition, I also installed NOR-DAQmx 8.8, I don't have that a little project to do with the acquisition of a voltage using a DAQ6008.

I'm trying this project: http://www.me.umn.edu/courses/me2011/labview/LabVIEW-thermistor.pdf the problem is that Assistant DAQ is nowhere to be seen in my Labview program.

Is there something that I missed?

I searched the palette DAQ and its certainly not there.

    Any help is appreciated!

    Hello Marko,

The problem is that NEITHER-DAQmx 8.8 is not supported by LabVIEW 2009. You must download and install DAQmx 8.9.5 or later for LabVIEW 2009 supports. I recommend the latest version of NOR-DAQmx:

    NOR-DAQmx 9.0.2 - Windows 2000/7 x 64/7/Vista x 64/Vista/XP

Let me know if you encounter other problems.

  • Try to use my computer LabView code to control 4 LED

    Hello

I'm a student working on a project at Boulder CU and I need a little help. I'm kind new to LabView but, I created a code that will create a random number, which one of the four LEDS will light, and then, if the LED turns off after a slide bar senses (accelerometer) a value greater than 5 (this value will change after certain data from the accelerometer). After this process, the random number generator generates a new number for a new light. I wonder how to tell the computer what LED icon indicates what LED to real life. Is there a way to connect my LED without changing my LabView code? I have to create a Wizard outputs digital DAQ? Please see the attached labview code and hopefully, you can help out me. We had major problems, trying to get our accelerometer to read a constant logical value and have just meet our problem of LED.

    Thanks, Zack

    Hi Zack,

your VI is somehow Award nomination for Rube Goldberg...

"How do you tell the computer what LED indicates which LED to real life."

Well, you have to decide where the "hook" these LEDs 'real life '. When you have made your decision, you will need some hardware driver to switch the LEDs. A Wizard of data acquisition can be a good choice when you use material. Otherwise, use the pilot to come with your hardware...

"Is there a way to connect my LED without changing my LabView code?

LEDs 'Real life' no real hardware drivers need...

  • Complete mapping and the library of labview code order

I worked with a Schneider Electric M258 Logic Controller (PLC). I already used an Ethernet cable to connect, recognized as a device of TCP/IP network OR max. Recently, I used a Schneider Electric TSX C 485 USB cable to connect via a COMPOTE. This connection is also recognized in NI MAX, as well as the fact that I can actually open a panel of test VISA this way.

I'm looking for help step by step how to use LabVIEW to scan the logical controller for the command codes, it is used to control other instruments (heaters, pistons, etc.), can fill a library in a project, LabVIEW myself with these commands, so that I'll be able to control these instruments from my laptop.

    Hello

Unfortunately, there are currently no tools or methods for the analysis of the controllers for control with LabVIEW codes. For a list of commands using the PLC, I reference the manual for the device or contact the manufacturer.

Many instruments are prefabricated screw to control these instruments available on the NI Instrument Driver Network (www.ni.com/idnet) that were created by the manufacturers or other users. I searched for the Schneider Electric M258 Logic Controller (PLC), but sees not all drivers. If you are interested in a person having to create these screw driver for you, we have the Alliance partners who can help you with that. (http://www.ni.com/alliance/)

Once find you the commands from the manual or the manufacturer, you can develop your own screw driver for the device and, if you feel so inclined, download them to idnet. Information on the creation of instrument drivers for devices to use in LabVIEW in the following link.

Good luck with your instrument driver development!

When you print a VI, you can choose to print documents of the VI and print it to the printer. If you install the PDF printer, it will appear as a selection. PDF Creator is one of the PDF printer free that you could use.

  • Can we call library user directly labview vi in teststand?

    Hello

I'm calling one of the libraries of the labview teststand user directly. I get errors when running (Catpure.png attachment).

If I create labview file and use this library vi in labview with same entries that then use this labview in teststand, and teststand is happy (capture2.png, capture3.png).

I would like to know if I can call library user directly labview vis in teststand or should have create my own vi call this lib from there? Can someone let me know?

    Kind regards

    Hema

    Hi Hema,

In general, screw calling for a Bachelor's degree in LAW (LabVIEW library) TestStand works very well. I have attached a sequence that makes calls to a VI in a Bachelor's degree in LAW and a VI out of one. This works as expected.

The error you get is probably the result of another problem. Please add more details about the error, the versions TestStand and LabVIEW, you use and if you have set the LabVIEW LabVIEW RunTimeEngine adapter or LabVIEW Development System.

PS: The image you attached shows the setting for the call of VI step and it seems to be loading fine (no provider indicating a loading error error). If the step throws an error only when executed, then attach a snapshot of the error dialog box that is displayed or the report that has the details of the error.

  • LabVIEW code 3 error: could not load façade.

    Hello

I was the second time the "LabVIEW code 3 error: could not load before sign.» When you use the development of LabVIEW 2009 SP1 environment.

It's really annoying that I waste time as I have to go back to previously saved code.

Does anyone know where it comes from and how to avoid it?

    Thank you

    Pawel

    Pawel,

If the façade is damaged, there is little that we can really do about it. So the best thing is to make sure that the front will never get corrupted at all.

You can write a small VI using VI Server to check the position of the element in your VI. If there is way to positions of reposition before saving the VI.

Another reason could be much, duplication of controls (including the faulty XControls?)...

    hope this helps,

    Norbert

  • Analog input voltage assistant DAQ

Does anyone know why theres error when you use two assistant DAQ (in a while loop at the same time) for reading of the analog input voltage?

There is not a problem if you use a wizard to data acquisition for analog input voltage reading simple.

If you get an error, wouldn't it useful that you have told us what it was, we may be able to explain it?

I'm guessing that you have error-50103, and if you look in the forums for '50103' (leave out the negative sign), it will give you the answer for this question has only requested thousands of times before.

  • Call the function in LabView from a DLL, and then access the global variable of DLL

I've created a DLL in LabWindows with a function and structure.  I want to call the function from LabView and then access the overall structure.  I am able to call the function in the DLL with a "call library function node" and has access to the return value, but I can't understand how to access the overall structure.  The structure is declared in the header DLL with __declspec (dllimport) struct parameters file.

Is it possible to access this structure without using the library of network variables?

My guess is that you need two bytes of padding after "in_out" and another to two bytes of padding after "anin."  The reason being that ints are 4 bytes, and most of them C compilers will align on 4-byte boundaries.  The struct will naturally start to such a limit (in fact, in Windows, it will probably start to an 8 byte boundary).  If you then count bytes in your structure, you are 70 byte after "in_out."  70 is not divisible by 4, so you need 2 bytes more to reach the next 4 byte boundary.  You can also you could reorganize your struct so that "anin" follows "in_out" and this is probably the best option if it won't cause you other problems.

Unlike most C compilers, LabVIEW compressed structures as closely as possible, without filling.  I don't know enough about the history of LabVIEW and internal parts to explain the reasons and to do this performance penalty, but, as choice of LabVIEW "endianness", it is probably a remnant of the first versions of LabVIEW that were running on the Mac.

If for some reason you want to force your C struct to match package LabVIEW, you can use the #pragma pack (x) directive, but I wouldn't recommend that here because you can control the C and LabVIEW.

EDIT: in the cases where it was not clear, add padding to your cluster of LabVIEW, insert appropriate size or items at the place desired in the cluster.

  • LabVIEW code

Can someone provide me with labview code to convert any format of file in text format.

    Hello

Be more specific...  What do you really mean by converting 'any' text file format?

Looking for a kind of conversion software, such as .pdf text?

    OR

Want to convert other types to a plain ascii file?

What do you want to convert?

"Any" is too ambiguous.   Because an executable (.exe) file is a file, and so are image files (ie: .jpg, .png, etc.), as well as his (.wav) file.  You want to convert those text as well?

Please explain what you are trying to do.

  • Vision Builder - error creating LabVIEW Code

    Hello!

I use Vision Builder 3.5 and LabVIEW 8.5.1. Vision Development module is also installed.

I've built several routines inspection with the Vision Builder. Then I tried to create .vi-files. Then I hit tools-> Inspection migrating to LabVIEW...

In the next box I select:

    1-version of LabVIEW: LabVIEW 8.5 - NEITHER Vision 8.5.0

    2 - the directory I want vi-files to be.

The migration begins, but it is never finished. There is always the following error message:

Error during creation of LabVIEW Code #3

I have not found additional information about this error code. So maybe someone is able to help.

    Thanks in advance.

It seems that the error occurs when you try to play a file which contains the parameters of control of that Vision Builder AI generates. This file may have been corrupted and Vision Builder AI fails to write correctly. I have attached a simple VI to determine where this file lives. Make sure that the file is not present before generating the code and that you have write access to this directory.

    Hope this helps,

    Brad
