Call of Duty World at War: Error 1628: failed to complete Installation

I get a "Error 1628: failed to complete Installation" when installing under Windows 7.
I open the DVD and right click on Setup.exe to run as administrator.

I found some info on the internet to try to go in administrative tools - local security policy - Software Restriction policies - updated in application and verification of all users except thing administrators, but nothing helped.

I remember when installing on a previous Vista machine, I had the same problem, but I don't remember what I did, but there is obviously some kind of security problem.

I have install from (only) on the machine and there of course administrator rights. The account has no password. I tried to create an other administrator account that I gave a password and tried to install it from her, but that didn't help either.

I also tried the following, after a suggestion from Activision:

1 create a folder "test" on your desktop.
2. go to the "My Computer" screen
3. right click on the DVD drive located in the game disc, and select "explore".
4. copy all the files and folders that you see here and paste in your 'test' folder on your desktop.

The copy process must begin now. If the game has copied correctly for you, then try to install the game from the "setup.exe" file in your copied folder.

This did not help either.

Help, please!

    Hello

There are a few things you can try:

    1. try running it as an administrator: right-click on the icon and choose 'run as administrator '.

    2. try to set the compatibility mode for this: right click, properties. In one of these tabs, you will find the option to run it in compatibility mode, check it out and try again with different (Vista, XP) parameters....

I don't know he will solve you the problem, but... give it a try on those.

    Assuming you meant WinXP SP3...

Why the SP3 was not installed for over a year?

What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install WinXP SP3?

A (another) Norton or McAfee application has already been installed on this machine (for example, a free trial version which is preinstalled when you bought it)?

  • Call of duty Modern Warfare 2 error: the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

    I have Windows Vista.

When you try to install COD MW2 disc, I get the following message is displayed:

The system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation.

Then it continues with the installation of the first disc perfectly, but the problem occurs with the second disc. When you are prompted to enter the second drive I do and he doesn't recognize. The drive doesn't look like it runs as if it is scanned intermittently. STEAM will freeze and (no response) as well as menu my computer and the DVD disk drive. So far, I can't find any solution to my problem.

I had the game earlier on the same pc but had to uninstall STEAM temporarily.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you for your response. However I can't find the "local security policy" in administrative tools. Not sure if it's because of Vista.

However I managed to the second drive yesterday after many many attempts. It seemed to work when I changed the AutoPlay settings to open the folder and view the files. I have no idea why, but he was able to read the disc in this way, after a few attempts.

    Thanks anyway. :)

  • Windows 7 backup system Image - 0x8078012D error Code - fails to complete system image backup?

I seem to have a problem with the Windows backup when a scheduled backup image on a hard drive external fails to finish, although she worked successfully before many times.  Backup Windows reports an error code of 0x8078012D.

I ran the tool of error checking on the external hard drive with running repair options, but no problem discovered.  The external disk drive seems ok because I use a Norton program to back up data on the same drive with no problems.  Also Windows backup will happily make a 'non-system image' backup on the external drive.

But it is not an image of the system stand alone, or as an add on the a normal backup.

    Any advice?

    Thank you
    David

After many tests on the solutions listed here, I found a way to fix my problem. I had continually failure is to say the system could not create a snapshot or that my drive has been a failure. It seems, with Windows 7, you must configure options that are not obvious to the users.

    1. go to control panel/system/System Protection and select your C: drive.

    2. Select "set up" and make sure "Restore system settings and previous versions of files" is on.

    3. the Max use value at least 2%

    4. apply

    5. Select your key USB you will use for backup and configure it again to the protection and the whole file size of at least 18%.

    6. apply

    7. in the control panel go to administrative tools, open Services.

8 scroll down until Windows backup and make sure it is set to manual and not started.

    9. highlight Volume Shadow and make sure it is also set to manual and not started.

10 10 aller go to control panel, select backup and restore.

    11. click on "Change settings", and then select the drive you will support up to.

12 run backup let the system do its thing and everything should work.

  • Error "Library not registered" and "access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000 "while trying to play Call of Duty 2 on Windows 7 64 bit

Original title: Call of Duty 2 on windows 7: first window said: library not registered. After a minute, seven or more pop-up windows to say the same thing: access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000

I tried to play Call Of Duty 2 on windows 7 64 premium.  After installation, if I choose to click on the shortcut on the desktop, it keeps invites me to insert the correct CD in the drive.  That right is already in the drive.  If I have the game from the CD autorun, it invites library not registered.  Then opens upward of seven windows or more with the same message: access violation at address 00000000. Read of address 00000000.  the map system, game and video have all been updated and installed the latest patch for Call of Duty 2.  The funky thing is, if I use the fix offered for Vista I can get the multiplayer game to work, but the single player mode is still inaccessible.  I tried changing the compatibility, tried to use the option of windows XP mode and tried to open it in a new window and ran it under administrator.  nothing has worked, suggestions?

I have thought about it myself, do what I tried above and activate the function of compatibility with Windows Vista service pack 2.  If you do not know the fix vista, click Start, Control Panel, hardware and sound, click sound, and then click the recording TAB.  Right click on a space in the tab itself, when see her disable devices is displayed click on to show them.  stereo mix is show in the tab, right click on that and turn on.  Only, remember, insert the CD, do not autorun installation just right click on the icon setup on the CD itself and open a new window.  run as administrator and install.  After that, go ahead and install the latest version of Patch 1.3 for Call of Duty 2.  When all is said and done don't forget to change the compatibility mode to Windows Vista service Pack 2. Note to Microsoft: Windows XP mode is a great idea, except that you dropped the ball twice, #1 - should have a version of it to support windows 7 Edition home premium for topics such as this for the public #2 - you must enable a way to get the video settings within the windows XP mode , in short to make a windows operating system that will play a game out there that has already been done to PC.

    Hello

Start the DirectX using the command * dxdiag *.
There, you should check if all acceleration graphics card options have been enabled.

If that does not help, then you should try to update the graphics driver.
In most cases, the old graphics driver causes these questions because it s not completely compatible with the game.

    Check it out!
