  I work with the sbRIO eval kit (http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/211116) and I can't seem to find details on the output pin. The eval Board comes with a daughter card to interface the easy I/O, but I can't find any details on what DIO are connected to what buttons push-button and LED and what DIO control the LCD etc... Basically to research to find a spindle of the sbRIO mapping to the daughter card.

• NOR-XNET CAN custom interface code in VeriStand

  I work with NI Labview/VeriStand 2011 and I recently received a Council XNET/XS 8513 with my controller PXI - 8106 RT.

  I noticed a great NOR - XNET.dll (about 10 MB) download in the file system on the system deployment definition PXI. Therefore, there is a greater load on the processors during execution compared to the case when I used the jury CAN 84681. I think that the reason is the extension name to FlexRay and Lin (?) protocols.

  I'm trying to reduce the load, so I create a custom model of labview for the CAN communication only, XNET with message transmission. I tested it directly with LabView on PXI, without a VeriStand deployment; The result is a correct message, reading of the CAN bus.

  Then I try to do a project veristand, deactivation of the NOR-XNET interface on the system definition file and loading the labview simulation model (builds from /Tools/NI VeriStand/generate NI Veristand) model vi; but I can't read/write in real time any new value, despite a successful deployment.

  Is there some VeriStand dependencies that I forgot? How can I use the old source NI - XNET Device Custom code for this?

  OK, I solved the problem: inport VeriStand cannot be a digital control of LabView inside a while loop time.

• After you have installed windows 10, I can't use apple wireless key board and mouse magic. any solution

  I am facing a strange situation. I used Win7 on BootCamp. Last week attempted to upgrade to Win10. After the upgrade is perfect, I could not connect to the wifi or wired internet. called the Apple support, Windows supports, no one would help you. Downgraded to Win7, after decommissioning, apple wireless key board and mouse magic does not work. Called Apple support, after nearly 90 minutes of interaction with them, ZERO, no solution result. Apple support told me that an Apple engineer will call me at my appointed time. A call came, but no one answered.

  So, today did a clean install of Win10 through BootCamp. All right, BUT I still can't use apple wireless key board and mouse magic. Can someone help me with this situation? Apple & Microsoft support engineers have failed to help out me. Thanks in advance.

• CAN Bus Analyzer

  I have two USB-8473 linked together, "CAN_H" to "CAN_H", "CAN_L" to "CAN_L" both are connected to my USE Can Bus.  Contact CAN0 to UUT works.  Communicationg with CAN1 to works of the object to measure.  I get the message to update many of the UUT.

  However if I use CAN0 to connect the object to measure and CAN1 as a monitor 'listen only' by using MAX CAN Bus monitor, I see no data at MAX CAN Bus Monitor.

  Is there an arbitration that must be configured?

  There was a difference between my LabWindows and the LabVIEW program baud rate.  One was set at 100000 and one was 1000000.  The correct value is 1000000.  Everything works now.

  Where you see the terms "broad recovery fast bus" and "slow bus off recovery". As far as I know, the spec CAN define only a single bus out of recovery.

• Absolute Log Timestamp Converter CAN bus

  I'm experimenting with the help of the CAN Bus Log Converter to convert raw CAN bus data to a TDMS file to Signal/value data for analysis.

  My understanding is that the timestamp to the Raw features store the absolute timestamp (I checked the timestamps in my CAN messages are absolute), but after passing through the CAN Bus Log Converter, the weather channel seems to show only in the relative time (well... a relative number of seconds).

  By looking at the properties of the group or channel, I have the following:

  Group:

  CANDateTimeStamp - 25/09/2015 10:19:16

  POUVEZ stamp - 6.36103091565499E + 10

  Time string:

  Display format: Digital (it takes not time?)

  Minimum: 0

  Maximum: 63.40234 etc.

  Hi Sam,

  I'm curious, were you angry before you start using tiara or DIAdem because frustrated you?  The Bus Log Converter creates a relative time for each message channel, but includes the absolute DateTime offset until a string of human time date readable and a number of seconds tiara.  If you add this huge number you mentioned to all layer of time values, and then change the channel of the digital display time display, you will get the absolute DateTime values.

• Reset of the CAN bus without knowing the reference of the tasks

  Hello everyone,

  I use the API CAN channel to read data from a CAN bus while at the same time taking measures using other DAQ devices. When my VI throws an error after the CAN bus has been initialized and started, try to kick start my VI will force the init-start CAN VI throw an error because the channel is never allowed.

  Is there a way to clean a channel CAN without having a special reference to the wire? Otherwise, how could I solve this problem?

  Hi Erik,

  Is the error that you are experiencing from the same service on a regular basis?  If Yes, what can be done before adding them to the whole application of error handling, you can add a case structure, use the cluster of error in this function to act as the selector for the structure of the case and add a Clear Channel command to the real case of the structure, followed by an error handler.

  Now, that being said, I still recommend using throughout the application, management errors, especially if this will be distributed as an executable file.  But for purposes of development, it is perhaps the fastest way to implement a clear failure of the VI function so that it restarts correctly on the next iteration.

• The CAN bus activity: why can I not see my CAN bus activity using MAX and a NI USB-8473?

  I use an NI USB-8473 and Measurement & Automation Explorer on a CAN bus I know works.   He does not see as a traffic CAN bus.

  Any ideas on how to trouble shoot to find out why this material does detect any signals at all?

• Interfacing engine Lego NXT sbRIO-9636 Eval Board

  As a newbie to sbRIO, I would build a simple Quadrature counter.

  Recently, I attended the great build your own Embedded system workshop and have a sbRIO-9636 running a updated the Quadrature counter sample project AND originally designed for the sbRIO-9631.  He works a lot using the digital encoder built into the daughter card.

  Then, I want to use a Lego Mindstorms NXT motor (PN 9842) encoder.  I will feed the outboard motor so for now I just up/down count the encoder.  Here is the wiring that I intend to use on the map of my daughter:

  Channel that has the encoder (yellow wire) will go to DI2
  Channel B (blue wire) of the encoder will go to the DI3
  Common 0V (red wire) goes to DGND
  + 5V (green wire) will go?

  So my question: is there a point on the map the sbRIO-9636 girl, I can securely connect to for + 5V power of encoder?  Moreover, these colors of son are Lego Mindstorms extension cables when they are cut and stripped.

  Any help would be appreciated!

  According to the quick reference for the sbRIO 9636: http://www.ni.com/pdf/manuals/375933a.pdf

  There seems to be + 5V on 49 and 50 of the J502 connector pins. This connector is available, or you use a daughter card?

  Other options would be more hackers IMO, such as the drawing of the USB connector 5V.

• CAN-BUS VIEWER

  I use a module NI9862 with a CRIO9081 to retrieve data CAN from another device. I have properly the power module and configure the software with all drivers.

  My problem is that when I start the "BUS data viewer" under MAX, there is no data. But when I use PCAN with my camera, PCAN find tha CAN data correctly...

  Is there a special configuration under Max for the spectator BUS?

  Have you tried to navigate to the settings > Interfaces and database settings and set the normal operation setting on subordinate if you CAN port is reserved and used by your application VeriStand when you try to monitor traffic?

• Can not update with the Bulletin Board

  The Toshiba bulletin board say that I've updated to do, I'm going in and actually there are updates, but when I press the transfer button, it says it cannot detect any network.

  Generally if everything on your laptop is working properly, you can forget about these updates. Should that s only important if you have a problem and the new device driver.

  Maybe you can solve the problem with reinstalling Bulletin Board but like I said: this message is not important.

• You can run on a Rio RT Veristand

  I know that you can create a custom on a rio fpga and use it in veristand, but you can run Veristand on RT of a Rio

  So basically I would say, using the EtherCAT CD in Veristand, the use of a RIO in Scan Mode is pretty easy. In my case using the configuration was easy and worked out of the box (after correct entry of controller information, that is). There is really only one exception, which is CAN / LIn communication.

  In the link I posted, there is a brief descripition everything that is supposed to fix the CAN / LIN outcome that tells you to compile an FPGA VI vacuum and use the bitfile resulting. It is the same thing you also have to do when using the XNET LV RT devices. However, this work around did not for me the last time I tried, working together with NOT quite to this being a bug in the current version. I have no need for this to get fixed and developed my app in LabVIEW instead, where this same solution worked perfectly. It's a shame, really, if you know how easy it is the with Veristand restbus simulation is on a pxi system.

  Yes to your question: that is waiting for your audience? Of course, it is easy to implement the RTT in Veristand applications, the exception being CAN / LIN. I would avoid the hassle if possible.

• myRIO myHub CAN bus

  In the week OR this year, there was a company that made a device called myHub who connected on top of the myRIO and provided several USB ports (I think only 3) and a physical ethernet port.  This same company has also demonstrated a bus CAN add to communicate via the car standard CAN.

  I've done a lot of research, but I couldn't find these products, or the company that makes them.  Is there information from this company about these products and their availability?
