Can connect to the wireless router, but not to the Internet

Because I could not find this post, I published in my problem to

Windows 7, connecting Local only, no Internet

I think I described the problem a bit better here.

I had a Gateway DX4300-17 with Windows 7 Home Premium for about six weeks. I connect to the Internet via a Netgear wireless router. My Internet connection dropped often, but I've always been able to reconnect to the Saturday. Since the start-up my computer Sunday, when I try to connect to the Internet, the system tells me that I am connected to the router, but there is no connection between the router and the Internet. I did a system restore to Friday, but it did not help. I searched the Knowledge Base and tried several things I found there. Running "sfc/scannow" indicates that all is well. I disabled the '6' Protocol (I don't remember the letters that were with this, but you probably know what I mean). This made no difference either. I thought I would ask for help here in the hopes of not having to restart the computer to the "hospital". That's a very different problem here barely a week. I need help, please.

Hello Bill6009,

Have you tried to boot your computer in SafeMode w/network to see if the problem persists?

If so, try to perform a clean boot to see if you encounter the same problem.

Please post back your results if we can help get your problem solved J

    Hello

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • Cannot ping the default gateway with Centrino Advanced-N 6235 on XPS 12 but CAN connect to the Internet

I have a XPS 12 with an Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 wireless card.  I can't ping the default gateway with the wireless card.  When I use a USB network adapter, I can ping the default gateway for the wired connection.  I can connect to the Internet and the internal network with the wireless card and can ping other computers on the network.  I am trying to run a program to connect wireless to a projector.  I have two different programs for the two different projectors.  I can connect by cable but not wireless.  I think that the problem is anything that does not make me a ping of the default gateway or something on the wireless card.  I have a 10 latitude with a Broadcom wireless card that is connected to the same access point and can ping the default gateway and can connect wirelessly to two projectors.  They all have two windows 8 Pro.

I downloaded the new drivers from Dell, uninstalled, reinstalled, tried to update Windows install the drivers, all with no success. Any ideas?

The solution of the problem by chance.  I was connected to the computer with a different network than what has been used to authenticate user account on the wireless.  When I switched the user account for the user account that was logged on to the computer was the same who authenticate to the wireless, it worked.  Go figure!

  • I can connect to the internet, but sometimes the message "You are not connected to internet", then after a second or two, it connects

Just bought new HP with Windows 8 desktop computer, and it connects to the internet through a wired connection.  However, sometimes when you try to connect, the message "you are not connected to a network rises, then it usually connects."  This message also may appear when trying to back up a new web page.

Disabled the antivrus, no change.  Plugged a laptop using the same modem and connections with no problems at all, so there seems to be something specific with this new desktop computer.

Any suggestions on how to stop this sporadic message appear?

    Hello Andrea,

A large number of variables are involved when you connect to a network: cables, drivers, network adapters and routers. Some common problems are:

    • A switch to wireless network adapter is disabled

    • Airplane mode is on

    • Poorly connected or disconnected cables

    • Wireless standards do not match

    • Missing updates

    • Incorrect network connection settings

    • Damaged or incompatible drivers

    • Hardware or software problems

Perform the steps from the link below and see if the error Stops appearing.

  • Aspire laptop connects to a wireless network, but not another

First of all, I need to let you know that my home network consists of a Motorola router/modem from my ISP. I have the wireless off, then I use a cat5 ethernet cable to connect a Belkin wireless router, so that I can use the two USB ports on the back for a network storage device to make regular backups on all the pc in the House, and my printer not wireless, so we can print of anyroom home instead of taking the computer back to where the printer is. So about three days ago, I got my Aspire 5734Z-4386 laptop, and I don't have a wireless connection. So I checked my phone, and he always had a relationship with the Belkin. I took ten minutes to troubleshoot the Atheros AR5B93 wireless card. Could not understand why I didn't have a connection, it was great to work for about 12 hours before.

If for some reason, I used another pc and connected on the Motorola and wireless turned on and immediately the Aspire showed a connection available, I clicked it and it says "connecting" for a few seconds and showed 'internet connection '. I spent about 5 minutes to surf the internet and then disconnected from the Motorola and reconnected to the Belkin, it says "connecting" for about a minute, then came to the yellow triangle, no internet. Back and clikced Motorola, once again the internet connection, but not on the Belkin. So I'm the other pc and checked the Web for the Belkin page to ensure that the Aspire had not been blacklisted in some way, there is nothing here to explain why I can't connect. So I spent three days, the adapter of the uninstall and re - install, I used the Motorola to download the latest driver for the adapter.

When the Aspire is the Belkin network with the rest of the other pc, I have no problem, move files from and to the Aspire. I can use the Aspire to connect to one of the other pc and right click on a file and copy them to the Aspire and watch the file appear on the Aspire, take the Aspire and copy a file to another pc or use another pc to access the Aspire. But I can't get internet connection, unless I'm on the network from Motorola. Now, I had the wireless on the Motorola off so all attached devices would be on the same network, then we can share files, and other connected activities.

I will admit that I am totally confused, it's not logical at all. I mean if someone else told me that their computer did this, I would have told them "it's impossible". Engineering wise, wise technology it not is not possible for an adapter do what made mine. But he does. Can someone please help me understand what is happening and how to fix it? I don't often admit defeat, but this time I've been beaten almost to death.

I hope that someone can help you. I can connect to my neighbors WiFi without problem, but my own internet connection does not work correctly. If I reboot the modem/router I can connect for about 10 minutes, then he said: "no internet connection" & I get the yellow triangle with the '!' in it... If I open the network and sharing Center and 'Diagnostic' advise me my "Local network doesn't have a valid IP configuration". It does when I use a wired connection and a Wi - Fi connection. Yet if I connect to my neighbors WiFi I have no problem at all.

    Hi Mandy_Kirk,

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         What web browser do you use?

    ·         The problem occurs with any particular Web site?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: Follow the steps in the article.

  • Connection problems. Firefox is the only program that can connect to the internet, all other programs fail. Windows 7 upgrade

    Hello

I've recently updated to Windows Vista 64-bit for Windows 7 64 bit.  After the upgrade, I noticed that Firefox is the only program that allows me to connect to the internet and surf the web.  Windows updates not connecting not (error 80072EFD) and any other program that tries to connect to the internet fails.  Also, when I install the updates to Firefox, Firefox is no longer will connect; I have to do a system restore to an hour before the updates of Firefox in order to get online.  I searched the web relentlessly trying to identify the problem and tried the steps recommended on these sites: http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-7/windows-7-cannot-connect-to-internet/ and http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/itprovistaie/thread/8777663d-013c-47b8-b11a-0e890612b533 and http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/32593406-f0af-449d-9cfd-3be3827fbf30

I should be able to stay connected with the windows open, so I can continue when I get back.

It depends on your network, there'S no connection.  For example, it could certainly happen to a user who was logged only under that user.   However, in this case instead of completely disconnected the first account you could probably have the first account log out and hang up the connection.  Then the second account probably could dial and connect.  FWIW, I think a DSL PPPoE user might see similar symptoms.

  • Windows 8 "not connected to the network" but it is, shows computers and can connect to the internet. How can I fix it

I used the Windows 8 Pro Upgrade on a Windoxs XP pro installation.  Everything works except that the network and sharing Center indicates that the computer is not connected to a network, but it is.  I can files in front on other computers on the network (at home) and I can access the internet.  The active profile is public, although it should be private. I created this to access the homegroup during installation.

I'm trying to get a first HD Homerun operation and if Media Center does not have any network, he sees no tuner either.

What can I do to get this working properly.

    a. no red X

    1. I tried to download a different driver, but it didn't work at all so cancelled.  To check if it was a pilot, I bought a usb wireless adapter.  I've disabled the ethernet connection and used the wireless connection.  The results are the same regardless of which connection I use.

    2. ran every convenience store without success

    3. services were what they were supposed to be

4 safe mode is worse.  No network connection (cannot see other computers in all), although internet is accessible

5 start gives the same results. "You are not connected to a network" yet the computers on the network are visible and accessible top records.  Internet is available.

I installed the software very little on this computer (just installed Win 8 last week.)

The only installed software is software HP Officejet L7680, Brother HL5250DN & first Silicon Dust HD Homerun software driver. I'm trying to set up basically as a DVR, so very little will be on it.

The only thing I can think is that I started with the installation of XP has been implemented using a VPN to connect to our network at work. This means that the computer should be part of the field it. Is it possible victory 8 retrieves these settings and now here's what's causing my problems? (I think that very few came from an installation of XP, but I noticed that some parameters met).

I plan to start again and re-installed Win 8 a last ditch effort... If you can offer any suggestions on repairing this conditioin, please provide me with the best way to re - install Win 8 as a clean install (without the things I installed). I'll then make sure that the network is working correctly before installing anything.

    *************************************************************************************************************

A follow-up for this reading. My problem was apparently caused by the upgrade of XP and usinging Dungeon files and SETTINGS. Although there are very limited items brought back an installation of XP, something is buried somewhere off network connections.

To solve this problem, Windows 8 has a new feature called reset. This essentially Setup all over again if you choose the option to delete files. You must enter the product key again when you do this. This is a clean install.  I had to update the graphics card drivers, add Media Center back, install HD Homerun Prime, run the Advisor of cable, making the TV configuration and finally got it works as I had expected.

I guess that the other two computers are working properly and that it can network together and that the only problem is the XP machine.  I'm also assuming that this problem persists when the firewall was disabled (including hidden like the one in the Cisco VPN client).  I also assume you mean by "is no longer connect to my home network" that you can't see other computers in your network neighborhood.
