Can connect with desktop remotely all directions except via internet Windows XP to Windows 7

I have a new computer with Windows 7 Pro to work I need with desktop remote access so that I can work from home and be with the family.  For years I used remote desktop connection from home using Win XP SP3 to my Win XP Pro SP3 computer at work.  I am able to connect my old WinXP computer work on my new Win 7 computer (locally).  I can connect from home computer Win XP Win XP computer via internet (DSL) to work.  I can connect from Windows 7 computer to work at Windows XP home computer over the internet (DSL).

So, I have Setup port forwarding or modems DSL correctly, the IP addresses are correct, consistent remote desktop clients. Firewall exceptions are configured correctly.

What is different.  The new computer with Windows 7 Pro has McAfee Internet Security all others running EAST of Kaspersky.  Win 7 computer is new.  Since I am on various possibilities of connections, changed listening port of 3389 on some computers, including the new Win7 computer (this should not be a problem that I'm able to connect locally).

Disable the firewall (software Anti-anti-virus/IS) on both computers does not help. In any case, I can go to WinXP Pro to work on Win 7 computer to work locally.

My thought is that there may some security policies, or maybe a protocol problem which is different with the new Windows 7 computer that does not have a connection outside the local network (via a public network).

I also tried to set up a VPN connection integrated Microsoft: forwarded port 1723, the GRE protocol allowed to the DSL modem.  Tried all different scenarios between Win XP Home and Win 7 computer at work and cannot configure the VPN connection. I get error 678: the remote computer did not respond.

I spent hundreds of discussions help/knowledge base and discussion review.  I have seen or followed all the instructions on the various sites of tech Web to configure VPN connections and Remote Desktop connections.

Does anyone have an idea as to what could be the solution here?

    Wireless router / Internet problems

I am running Windows Vista Home Edition with Security Essentials.  I can connect to my wireless router, but cannot get internet connectivity via Wireless.  If I connect the cable to the port on the router, I get internet connectivity.  Is there a firewall setting that could cause this problem?

    Hello

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And I would like to
Update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router? Are there
    obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

How to install a device driver in Vista Device Manager
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/193584-Device-Manager-install-driver.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version. (The
manufacturer of system become your backup policies).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as Vista like
    updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If the updates Windows suggests a just HIDE as they
are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

Make sure you know the details of connection to your wireless router - SSID and password.

You lose connection when you do and have to redo your logon.

Control Panel - Network & Sharing Center - right, click Customize - page set of network locations.
lower left click on merge or delete network locations - REMOVE all instances of your network (and the
others you don't use anymore) - REBOOT. Start - Connect To log on to the network.

  • Error when connecting with the Remote Console

We get the attached error when you click on a paralytic to vCloud Director.  The inner coating IP address is the ip address of the proxy console.  Any ideas what might be causing this error?  I thought, it might be something with my SSL certificate, but I'm not sure.

    1. it's a Windows 7 view Client using IE 9

See the installation and configuration (https://www.vmware.com/support/vcd/doc/rel_notes_vcloud_director_10.html) guide, IE 9 is not supported, and only browsers supported on Windows 7 are Windows and Firefox 3.* 8.*.

    2. it takes about 1 minute and 45 seconds, but the error pops up 2 seconds after the Remote Console window opens.

Certainly, that's the problem here. It shouldn't take 1 minute and 45 seconds for the remote console to pop up window, in fact, I would say that it should begin in a few seconds (certainly less than 10 seconds). You are not sure if it's because of IE 9?

4 see attachment log of error messages when trying to access the virtual machine

The error message looks like it tries to connect to my server vCenter.  Do the users who are connected to vCloud Director must be able to connect on the server vCenter Server?  I thought it would just use the user that configure you when you connect on the vcenter Server.

The console proxy (a component of the cell of vCloud Director) acts as a proxy for users connected to vCloud Director. It is the latter that connects to your vCenter Server server, and that's what you read in the papers.

Try this on any other OS/browser support matrix. In addition, if you can dig why it takes more than 10 seconds for the remote console to the pop-up window, you would have found yourself a solution. If this does not work, contact the Support of VMware.

I tried to connect to my email yahoo for two days without success. I get the same error msg 'Bad request syntax.' I can connect in other browsers. Clear my cache and reset Firefox did not help. Know not what else to do.

This can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

If clearing cookies doesn't work, then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete the other files of cookies as cookies.sqlite - journal in the profile folder of Firefox in the case where the cookies.sqlite file has been corrupted.

  • I can connect to wifi networks but cannot access the internet

As the title says, I have no problem connecting to all types of wireless (password protected or not), but once I plugged in, there is always a message saying that I have limited access, and I will not be able to access internet since. When I tried to solve the problems through windows I got the message error "wireless network connection is not a valid IP configuration.

  • Satellite A200 - can connect to the network (LAN & WLAN) but no Internet

    Hi all

I have a problem very annoying and confusing.

I've just set up my internet connection at home. From the beginning, my Toshiba was unable to properly communicate with the router to set up the connection, I had to use Mac. my partner

After much time spent talking with the ISP and the manufacturer of the router, I was told that there is a problem with my network card - it is not compatible with the router. I don't think that this is the case, my laptop is fairly new, newer than the router actually. So, it seems a logical explanation. As this laptop was able to connect to every other internet connection as needed. And more importantly, my phone can communicate with the router as I can connect 'local only' but not to the internet. I get an error that can not diagnose Vista.

Device Manager shows that my wireless and ethernet devices are working properly.

My network settings are also on the parameters required by the router.

I'm at a loss total, and personal support from my ISP and DLINK (manufacturer of the router). Any help / advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Thank you

    Edward

    Hello, Edward

This explanation of compatibility is for me nothing else good joke. I use PC Toshiba laptop for years and none of them has a few special network adapter.

Can you please as first step test the functionality of connecting your laptop to another router? Maybe some friend of you can help.
When you connect your laptop using the cable LAN is green LED on ONE LAN port?
    You see a flashing orange?

Do you have access to the settings of the router using internet explore on your Satellite A200?

  • I can connect to the WLan, but cannot access the internet on Tecra A8

There is no problem when I use the LAN port.
When I use the WiFi (wifi adapter Tecra A8), I can connect to the network, but the status is local, I can't access the internet.

I've updated my access point with the latest firmware (D-link DWL-2000AP +).
I do not get a new IP address.

    My OS is Vista.

    Hello

You have set up the WLan router with the right data from your ISP (internet service provider)?

Further, I would recommend to disable all security on the router option and try to access the internet.
I mean, you must disable the encryption (WEP, WPA), Mac filtering address, etc.
In addition, check if, in settings TCP/IP, the option as "obtain an IP address automatically' has been set.

Have you tried the WiFi connection using the customer like Intel ProSet utility or Atheros configuration tool?
These tools can be used instead of own WLan connection option of Windows.

Reset you the WLan router? This!

  • Using Cisco VPN with desktop remotely

Hi, I work with many customers that use Cisco VPN for remote access.  Unfortunately the Cisco VPN does not work well with my VPN IBM client so I can't have both running on my computer.  So, I thought that I would like to install the Cisco VPN on an old machine, connect to this computer via desktop to distance and VPN in the network from the customer via the VPN.

Well, who does not work either.  As soon as I connect to the network via the VPN Remote Desktop client loses the connection.  Can someone tell me if it works as designed (WAD) or if there is a secret of configuration to operate?

    Thanks in advance...

    John,

When you connect via VPN to the network client on the remote computer, the connection RD proper case?

I think it's because the VPN connection that you have drawn on the client computer is configured to encrypt all traffic, and that's why the RD connection to your computer of the drops.

You can do a quick test... on the VPN client computer under statististics (VPN software) verification and check if secure roads is 0.0.0.0 (no split tunneling).

If Yes... and if having access to the VPN server, which can be changed.
