  I just opened up Lightroom and saw something for the first time. My latest photos 2 imports (around 1,000) are all displayed in Lightroom with the message "the file named... is offline or missing". I also noticed that in the Finder I see all files corresponding to the dates of importation. I tried to import the files again (I'm lucky to save one of the memory cards), and it won't let me import these specific images, saying they were already imported. Yet, I can't nice them anywhere. I never seen anything like this. I use Lightroom 4. Please, I beg you, help is urgently needed here because I'm starting to panic! Thank you.

  A second importation is the wrong answer.

  What you need to do, is to use import initial and in the folders Panel, move the files to your hard drive.
