  You must be new to Lightroom. Yes, the terminology can be confusing. The program of Lightroom has been updated. The new version is 5.5 of Lightroom. It has been updated to include new cameras and other changes. But this "update" is delivered in the form of a complete replacement program. This is how it has been from the beginning with Lightroom.   They are separable, and given that the radiator is actually a piece of metal is probably defective. It is a bit of a chore to remove the old fan and install the new in the old radiator but can be done.
