can I connect my macbook pro 2007 to a mac mini in 2015

I have a 2007 Mac Book Pro which works well, but the hard drive is running out of space.  Can I connect to a mac mini and use it as an external hard drive?

Faster would be to connect the two via FireWire and start the one you want to use as storage in target disk Mode

You can also start the computer is the normal mode and the use of fire share (System Preferences > sharing > file sharing)

  • I can not connect to Macbook Pro iCloud

    Hello!

I have a problem with access to iCloud on my MBP (15 inch, mid-2015) OS X EL Capitan. I can not connect on App Store to make purchases and get apps, iTunes, Messages and iCloud in system preferences. When I try to open a session, apps just freeze and nothing happens, then I have to force quit. I googled many solutions, but no one has helped me.

You must remove the serial number of your computer from your profile.

    Try a reboot.

Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

Isolate a problem by using a different user account

If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

  • Can I connect a DVI - DL my end 2012 Mac Mini input?

    Hi all...

I have a question...  I have a Late 2012 Mac Mini and I just bought a new BenQ XL2411Z 24 "play.  It supports the 1ms and up to 144 Hz.  I know that my Mac Mini (end 2012) has an Intel 4000 1.5 GB graphics installed in it.  Can I use via the HDMI Port or Mini Display Port to connect it to Port DVI - DL on BenQ monitor?

Is it possible to do and enjoy the benefits of the 144 Hz instead of plain 60 Hz HDMI?  Also, is it possible to update a Video of Mac Mini card?  (Half-joke but always curious to know if it's possible?).

    Thanks in advance!

Also, is it possible to update a Video of Mac Mini card?

No, because it does not have a separate video card. The graphics chip is soldered to the logic board.

60 Hz is maximum refresh rate.

  • Can I connect my MacBook Pro (mid-2012) to the TV 4 K w / a 120 Hz refresh rate?

    Hello!

I plan on buying a new TV (http://www.vizio.com/m43c1.html) and I was hoping to use to connect my MacBookPro mid-2012 as well. I noticed on the forum and just general Google search, that people were discussing if it would work at 30 Hz or 60 hz - but this TV has a 120 Hz refresh rate. My computer works? And if so, what wiring do I need?

Uh, did you actually READ the tech specs?

None of those who accept the entrance faster than 60 Hz. The mentioned number of 120 Hz is an internal refresh rate, not the flow of incoming data.

But it seems that he would eliminate the flicker of the update of 30 Hz.

    --------

If you can't use the HDMI, I expect you can get 30 Hz with reliability. If play you with him at length and seriously, maybe 50 Hz. If you also get extremely lucky, maybe 60 Hz.

    But 120? Nope!

The TV can accept and the Mac won't.

  • Can I connect a macbook pro iMac for Logic Pro mirrored

My main computer is an iMac, running Logic Pro with an external drive for samples and projects in my home "studio". I would like to be able to work on these projects away from the 'studio', in addition to comfort, on my MBP. And then, when the time comes to take my equipment to, say, a recording studio, I could then just take the MBP and external drives, for convenience. What would be the best way to do this?

If everything is on your external drive, then just eject this drive, unplug it, plug it into your MPB, turn it on, work.

I have a Macbook Pro 2015 retina and a bolt of lightning 27 screen.

    I use Logic Pro X

How can I keep the Macbook Pro closed on a stand?   without opening it to activate the market every time I use it?

    I've seen many people do.

And it will do no harm to Logic Pro?

Yes, you can continue to use your MBP as long as an external monitor, keyboard, mouse/trackpad are connected.  No problem at all.  Use it as usual.  A lot of use do this every day.  LPX will be fine.  Just be sure to save your work before you leave, before switch to "standby" mode.

  • Hello.. MacBook Pro 2007/8 running OS 10.7.5.  Posterization image/movie

Hello.. MacBook Pro 2007/8 running OS 10.7.5.

All hard disk fairly new works healthy... Desktop and the Finder/opening text electronic documents/mail work / online / all programs open... everything works smooth as before the birth of this current problem.

The only problem is that all images, so stills open in preview, or movies open in Quicktime, or office photos and even live in Skype pictures... suddenly became - the best way I can describe it is - "Posterization" i.e. all areas of black/shadow in the film images are displayed as a red purple fluctuation.

There is absolutely no problem opening, movies, or images and audio tracks sound/Skype film is not in any way affected.  I suspect a hardware problem, but someone might suggest that he could be?  Thanks for any help BC

  • MacBook Pro 2007 Does not show the headset as an output option

Hi all, I have recently restored a MacBook Pro 2007 for my college work and it works well... Except for one thing. The wearing of the helmet.

I wish I could use my headphone port that I will do a Final Cut Pro here job and likely to spend much time in the classroom when playing audio through the built-in speakers will be disruptive.

I've already replaced the left i/o board with a working version (as the previous owner had neglected it and broke a record in there.) Villain...

If you're wondering, the computer is currently running El Capitan and it seems it well, apart from the question with the headphone jack. I searched in Google for this issue, and most of them seem to be much easier to solve because their use of the helmet IS shown in system preferences, while mine is not. A little weird issues really, especially as the line works perfectly fine! Just not the headphone port...

If anyone can spare a moment to help me with this issue, I would greatly appreciate your help. I love my MBP. So, I want it to work as it should.

    Thank you very much

Problem solved! A problem with the IO card. I've fixed since the question and making works normally.
