Can I connect to wireless networks far away?

How to connect to wireless networks more away?

Is there any way I can improve my reach wireless laptops so I can connect to wireless networks more away?

Hello!

You can only connect to wireless networks that recognizes the laptop. If the laptop recognizes a wireless network, you can connect to them. If he doesn t recognize (because it is further away) you can't connect.

In addition, you cannot improve the scope of the laptop wireless. You can do it on a WIFI router, and not on the laptop.

Good bye

This indicates that s laptop WiFi connection works correctly.

I put t know what Satellite Pro, you have exactly, but have you checked if you can update the WLan driver?

  • Unable to connect to wireless networking

My Toshiba laptop has been pre-installed with Windows 7 Home premium 64 - bit OS and it worked quite well with the BB wireless. However, the wireless internet was on and turned off in recent weeks, while other mobile devices, such as iphone, ipad, or laptop, in my household had no such problem. The wireless signal was so strong, but the error message always says "unable to connect to wireless networking. It seemed that there was something wrong with the wireless adapter.

I got a new adapter properly installed TP-Link wireless. Fortunately, it worked; but unfortunately, it worked for less than 24 hours. It was really frustrating that I, like student full time, depended so much on the wireless network card.

    Help, please! Harry

  • Unable to connect to wireless networks more. ("Windows could not connect to (SSID)")

    Hello!

Something very strange is happening with my laptop (dv6-3060ee). Up to this day at noon, everything worked well, including the wireless network. So, I set my computer to Hibernate and came to the House of my parents. As I turn it on and try to connect to the wireless here, I can't. I get this error "Windows could not connect to (name of the network).

I'm on W7 Home Premium 64-bit and the card wireless in an Atheros 9285 b/g/n (model number can be a problem, I have it does not properly check).

    Things to consider:

-I don't know that this is not a router problem or hardware WiFi card because:

    1. I can connect to the router and get internet access on my phone and with the other computer normally.

    2. on the laptop, I can not connect to the network without wire inside W7, BUT with HP QuickWeb (this system of Opertaing before loading windows), I can normally connect to the network and access to internet.

-Have you ever tried, without success:

1 reinstall the driver for the wireless card / Unistalling the driver and install it again

    2. change the encryption on the router. (Even with no encryption I can't connect)

    3. of course, restarting the computer, turn off/on of the network card, reset the router

So, I'm sure it's a problem with Windows. I did some research here and in other places and other people seem to have the same problem, but I couldn't find any solution.

I didn't install any software today which could cause conflicts.

So, can someone help me, please?

    Thank you

Thank you for your help, but I'd already sorted.

The problem was really the driver, an update had been installed by the HP update program and it makes the device stop working. This problematic driver was March, I can't remember the version number.

I went to the Device Manager and pressed on "Roll Back Driver". Windows restored to an October/2009 driver, 8.0.0.238 version number, and now it works as it should.

  • Photosmart more B210b: printer not connecting to wireless network

I try to install the printer, which has worked before with a different wireless router. I can't connect to the network, even if the print network configuration page says PASS and YES at all the right place with this new router (DB of Belkin Wireless Router N600DB).  When I connect to the router, the printer does not appear in the list of connected devices, but the printed page says it IS connected (has assigned IP address192.168.1.100 on the page). When I try to install the device and connect it to the laptop computer, the IP address is not recognized.

Both devices are in the same network (belkin.b2.c)

I've completely disabled the firewall, I install it, both in the protection antivirus software, windows AND router, have revived all 3 devices (printer, router and laptop), but still unable to connect.

I'll be very grateful for your help.

I have a problem with your suggestion and a question.

First problem: I can't change the SSID name or to change other settings of the printer because I can not connect at all.

The question is, I see my router dashboard that the Pool of IP address of departure is 192.168. 2.2 and the Pool of IP address is 192.168. 2.200 now, IP address, I can see the printer is 192.168. 1.100 as you can see, the range is different. This could be a problem?

    Comment

The printer is on a different subnet from the rest of your network.  Yes, it's a problem.

The printer and the router - and indeed, the rest of the network - these must all be on the same subnet.  Any network - but they are to be on the same.

    For example:

It is not important whether you choose 192.168.1.1 for your gateway router

    OR

whether you choose 192.168.2.1 for your gateway router

The rest of your computers, printers and devices must be on the same network of "sub" as the gateway router.

You can try changing the IP of the printer on the printer control panel if you can't connect with EWS (built-in web server).  Push the printer over subnet 2.

Maybe give printer IP address: 192.168.2.226

Click on the button the printer wireless...

Click on the thumbs-up Kudos to say thank you!

    Hi omsaini,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

Sorry to hear that you have to connect to a wireless network adapter trouble.

To help you further on this subject, it would have been really helpful for us if you had

mentioned a few details such as:

    (1) is there an error message you get when you try to connect to the internet?
    (2) is the persistent problem with all browsers installed on the machine?
    (3) what is the brand and the type of the network adapter (whether ADSL or an adapter included)?

However, there are a few steps that we can try first:

    a. the following link has a very good tutorial on how to install a network adapter on the computer:

  • Satellite A100-529: How can I enable the wireless network adapter

    Hi all!

I'm new here, but I want to know how can I activate the wireless network device. On my Toshiba Satellite A100-529 keyboard is a Fn key that must be pressed with the F8 key to turn on the wireless network device. I did, but it does not work.

What can I do to turn on my wireless device?
    Thank you!

You are right. The FN + F8 key combination should be used to switch to the WLan card.

But look, man. Have you checked if your laptop supports wireless network card?
I think it does not support the minPCI wireless network card and the card does not exist!

That's why the WLan card cannot be activated :) you know ;)

  • Help! -Lack of software to connect to wireless networks.

    Hi all

I bought an IBM Thinkpad T42 Type2373 (Made in 2005) WIPED for a young man named Andrew who I am a Mentor for. His family cannot afford it. I installed Windows XP Professional on this topic and went through hundreds of automatic updates from Microsoft. I also installed NIS 2010 and update this AND more still software too.

Now, knowing he has a Pentium M Processor (1.7 Ghz), I should be able to connect to wireless networks. Right now I am connected to a router Linksys, this is how I'm connected to the internet.

Obviously, Miss me some software to be able to do. I looked online on the Lenovo site and I saw so much, that I don't know exactly what I need. I know I need an icon to click that search networks wireless in the region, but there is obviously more software I have to install.

Any help from any of you experts out there would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much, and Andrew Merci you too!
