  Looks like there could be a problem with the hard drive. its certainly worth running some tests on if possible. It is a dell machine you may be able to run a hard drive test when the computer starts by using the f8 key, but if not you must download a free software called theultimatebootcd and burn it to a cd and then start the computer on the cd and use the software on the disk to perform checks on the hard drive.
