Can I delete an e-mail account and reinstall without losing all my old messages, files, lists addresses etc?

I can no longer send e-mail from my account and get the message that the connection to the smtp server has been lost or the settings are wrong.

I would like to reinstall the account to ensure that the servers settings are correct, but I'm afraid I might lose years of messages that I saved in my folder system as well as my address books, so the question.

If not, does anyone know how to reset the server settings so that Thunderbird works with Rogers Yahoo mail?

Thanks for any help that you could provide.

Two ways you can do

If your does not remove the Thunderbird try this first method

can I delete email on mac accounts and retain their remaining icloud?

I'm looking forward clean my OSX and I wondered if I delete accounts on mac, along withh records, etc., do I still have access to them in Icloud. (I don't know which way the sync works)

Unless the e-mail accounts are based icloud.  That is to say, they end in @icloud.com, then without removing the Mac not keep them in iCloud because they are not in first place.

You should always be able to access through their respective clients to Web Mail however.

If they are based iCloud.com, then Yes you can remove form Mac and they are accessible via http://icloud.com by logging into each account there.

Uninstalling a previous version of elements doesn't change anything on your image or catalog files.

  • 24.5.0 - deleted mail account and have problems with a new false folder

    Hello

I've been messing around with my Thunderbird data, so this problem is of my own making I think.

I deleted an e-mail account using my provider configuration area. It was an e-mail account that I had set up initially at his accession to this provider and contained only test messages etc and was therefore no other use.

I had implemented this e-mail in Thunderbird and after deleting the account with my ISP I then removed the account in Thunderbird. Everything seemed to be OK.

Now, to confuse the issues. I had already set up a list of folders under local folders for emails filtered into Thunderbird - I now moved their in my main account by click/drag and drop on the name of the account. Although it has taken a lot of time (and unexpectedly used a huge amount of bandwidth), the operation seemed at last to the end (even though it was really hard to determine until I finally found the activity monitor).

Now, to the point of this ad:

After all the above, I discovered that a false file was created under the Inbox of my main account, called "new % 20Folder = 0' that I read in the new folder-0. I don't know at what point in the above that this issue has appeared, but I * think * I must have dragged / dropped one of my folder moves on the Inbox instead of the account name field.

Now, dear readers, if you've got so far, most of my problem. I can not remove this folder when I try, I get the message

The current operation on the "new % 20folder-0"failed." The e-mail server for the account * answered the folder does not exist.

I tried a bunch of things, change the settings in its properties, etc, but I have no reason to delete.

Question is: How can I remove it?

    I'd do it:

    (a) check on the website of the the email provider to check if he had copied here and cope. Your mention of bandwidth suggests it is an IMAP-connected account.

    (b) close Thunderbird, open their profile , and delete the offending file there. You need to browse your profile for a while understand its structure before doing anything rash.

In General, I discourage users to drag files just as you did. By all means, drag the content (even better, use to select, then right click and "copy to" or "move to"), but moving files is IMHO indefinite operation with unpredictable results. I've heard talk of users move a folder from one account to another and find that it always associated with (i.e. "belongs to") the original account.

  • I deleted a mail account and lost all emails related to this account.  I need them.  Is it possible to recover?

I deleted a mail account and lost all emails related to this account.  I need them.  Is it possible to recover?  I'm trying different things with Time Machine, but I get strange results.  Help, please.  I have pictures in my email and contact info that I didn't lose.  I wanted to just continue to get messages through the old account of people who have not bothered to pay attention my many attempts to give them my new email address.

Thanks for any help you can give!

Open Mail, enter time Machine and scroll in position until the things that you want is visible, then tap on restore.

  • When I reset Firefox it deleted my e-mail account Outlook on my iMac

When I reset Firefox it deleted my e-mail account Outlook on my iMac computer. He also moved my AccountEdge accounting file in the data file of old Firefox on my desktop as well as all backups. It is also Microsoft user data files, and some Word documents in this file. I hope you can help because I don't know how to put these files back where they belong.

Back up and restore the information contained in the profiles of Firefox , it would help for files associated with Firefox.

However in regards to the Outlook e-mail, you can restore with these instructions http://email.about.com/od/outlooktips.../Restore_Outlook_Mail_Contacts_and_Other_Data_from_a_Backup.htm

I'm not quite familiar with the storage of outlook files in Firefox.

  • I deleted two e-mail accounts in my iMac (El Capitan). I have reinstalled the first without problem. When I tried the second, I got an error message that the account already exists. Any suggestions?

I deleted two e-mail accounts in mail on my iMac (El Capitan). I have reinstalled the first without problem. When I tried the second, I got an error message that the account already exists. Any suggestions?

First of all, make sure that you don't have two accounts with the same address. What happens if one of them is an iCloud account.

From the Mail menu bar, you select

    ▹ Connection Doctor window

In the window that opens, look for an SMTP (outgoing mail) account with a name that corresponds to the account that you are trying to add. Double-click it. Another window opens, displaying the list of all outgoing mail accounts. Click the sign button less to remove the corresponding one, and then click OK.

Try to add the email account again. If you still can not, log off or restart the computer, and then open the preferences window accounts Internet and check if the account is displayed.

  • I need to delete my e-mail account of my laptop but not my desktop

Help, please! I have a desktop computer and a laptop. I use the same user account and e-mail at a time. I need to remove my email from my cell account only without losing my user account.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium.

My user name is the same as my email account.

Sorry about that. I suspect that nobody has really worked what it is you are trying to do. In Windows 7, it there was absolutely no link between user account data and a process of e-mail or the program you may be using. If you use Windows Live Mail, you can delete an e-mail account by right-clicking on its name in the folders pane and selecting remove account. This will remove all records of account and permanently remove their content. If there are messages that you want to keep in a folder account, move them to the folders defined by the user under storage folders before you delete the account.

If this isn't what you mean, so please explain a little more clearly what you are trying to do.

  • How can I find my e-mail account?

I did Firefow synchronize a long time ago. Donkey today, I want to connect Firefow sync, but I don't remember my email account that I put in place. I remember passwords. But I don't remember e-mail account. How can I find my e-mail account? Please, let me help you.

Open Options > Security-> password - saved passwords
Your synchronization user name is listed in the chrome://FirefoxAccounts = 'user name' is the email address of your sync account.

And if "long" is more than 15 months - may 2014 - this old account of synchronization will be updated for the version of Firefox 29 + Sync.
