The larger files in C:\WINDOWS| Temporary folders are 435 hidden files whose name starts with etilqs_ *. Total space occupied by those files is 50.1 GB.

A little googling implies that these files could belong to a product called "Spiceworks" and that they have set long ago, so if you are currently using or have all used 'Spiceworks', don't forget not you use the most recent version and/or look in their an online community where you can find discussions.

  • Can I delete the Office Setup files?

I downloaded the Adobe Acrobat DC .exe file. After the launch, he unpacked a bunch of files on my desktop (currently using Windows 10). The installation process creates a folder in my program disk. Everything works very well. My question: can I now delete all files that have been copied to my desktop? It occupies about 650 MB. Can I delete the .exe file in my download folder. Once again, big file too much room.

    Hi Jimmy5W,

The Acrobat folder saved on your desktop includes the extracted files once you have installed Acrobat.

You can delete this folder on the desktop as the main installation file is saved in the folder Program Files of Windows.

The error after I try to open a WMV file in an email shows the above that "the parameter is incorrect" and I can't open the wmv file.

Check the suggestions in discussions below:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_xp-desktop/cant-open-WMV-files/e33f0e01-E838-483f-8E6F-7098b643592f

You can also check what type of file has .wmv files.
Go to the control panel. Click default programs.
Click associate a file or Protocol with a specific program type.
Highlight .wmv and see what kind of program is to open these types of files.
By default, there are Windows Media Player.

If it's another program, change to Windows Media Player and then try again to open the .wmv files.

    Hi Zena.

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community. Enjoy the detailed explanation of the issue.

Are you using a Microsoft or a local account to connect to the computer?

Method 1: I suggest you run the troubleshooter App from the link and if it helps.

    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=268423

Method 2: I suggest that you remove mail, Outlook and Live accounts and re - sync the two. If you use a Microsoft account so it would not be possible to remove it from the Mail app like that defined a default in such a case, you can only delete the second account and Resync. Check if the problem persists.

Method 3: Check out the link and follow the methods 'update your app' and also 'license app Sync' of the article.

  • I would like to delete the new window 10, I'll be happy to have my window 7 back.

    Original title: return to old

I would like to delete the new window 10 on my laptop. Once I did the research where and how, there no trace I can restored back. Also, most of the new system running on 8 GB of RAM and I use 6 GB Rams; and I think that it bogged my system
I'm operating system of game which is 5 years old. All the previous function jets which has been programmed in, volume, keyboard backlight and brightness screen that all control no longer work and I search by manufacturers where nothing was mentioned.
My DVD player is broken and I can't use the drive with my product key.
Any suggestion on solving this problem. I'll be happy to have my window 7 return or upgrade my portable computer time for a new game system with window 10.

If you upgraded to Windows 7, see:

  • Cannot delete the file - Windows 7 cannot check location

    Hello all,.

After the upgrade to Windows 7, I tried to delete the Windows.old folder. However, I encountered a problem; There are two files in this folder that Windows 7 can not remove. When I try to delete them, I get an error message stating that Windows cannot locate the two files and it asks me to check their location. Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you

    Garrick

When the above does not work, try this:

    1. click on windows orb
    2. type cmd in the search box
    3. right click on cmd in the results menu and click on run as administrator
    4. control windows opens, must be in the directory c:\windows\system32
    5. go into c:\ do this type cd... until you reach c:\
6 goto directory where the file to be deleted. example c:\windows.old\users
7 type rd /s (directory name)
8 get invites to delete y/n type y and press on enter

After successful removal, you can check the windows Explorer and see that the file is missing.

Example, I have a directory on my c drive named windows.old, under windows.old that I have a user directory and then several subdirectories, 1 directory happens to be named bill. For some reason any windows can not find this place and will not delete the folder. I then who follow the previous steps and remove this directory.

So, in step 6, I would like to c:\windows.old\users goto, I then head to step 7 and enter the rd/s Bill and enter. Follow step 8 and the file is missing.

Let us know if that helps.

    Hi Conner,

Thanks for keeping us posted and share this information with us.

As Palcouk suggested, you can remove the "Windows.old" folder if you have saved data on the computer.

It is not possible for the drive to shrink. I would like you to check the amount of space on the hard disk after you remove the Windows.old folder.
