CAN I get rid of the updates that are show; pping in Vista. I see in Windows 7 which is can remove old updates that are not needed. Can I do this with Vista?

I am able to remove the old window of Dates in Windows 7 that overlap, when you go on the cleaning disc and touch clean system files, then the update windows clean up rises.  Then, you are able to remove the old of the dates that are no longer needed. This saves space.  Can I do this with Windows Vista?  If so, how?

Hello

This is the information from Microsoft about this:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2852386/en-us

"Cleaning Windows Update option is available only when the Disk Cleanup Wizard detects the updates of Windows you don't need on the computer."

This is only for Windows 7 and above.

Loy Vista doesn't have this option of cleaning disc for Windows Updates and in all probability that Microsoft will not implement what Vista is now in Extended Support.

Here's how to clean your Vista hard disk:

This free program allows you to see what is taking place.

http://www.Jam-software.com/treesize_free/

By default system restore also includes 15% of the capacity of your hard disk under Vista space.

You can change the size of it:

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html

You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

"Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

Using the free CCleaner program:

http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

In NO case use the registry cleaning Option in CCleaner

Download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free

And Norton Backup, if you are using Norton, can do strange things with filling of hard drive space.

See you soon.

How can I get rid of the box that appears when you start Firefox 'Restore previous Session'?

Subject: House is the default in Firefox 4 home page - look at the address bar containing the addresses of web page - it is the container for Google search, with a 'extract container' and below these elements is the Previous Session Restore button. It's not the same homepage that previous versions of Firefox used (although it is similar in appearance), it is a 'local' page that won't load the Internet.

Set this page as your home page, which is what Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions had for the default home page. He has Previous Session Restore button/link.

  • How can I get rid of the button that appears when I'm annoying scrolling?

This button is apparently intended to speed up browsing in a document, page, Web site or by e-mail. In my opinion he appears unexpectedly, often substitute my entry and is causing me problems. I don't want that, don't not where it comes from, do not know how to get rid of him. It's just more masturbation programmer, IMHO.

Do you mean the automatic scrolling of the page button?

    • Tools > Options > advanced > general: "use autoscrolling".

You get this automatic scroll button when you click with the scroll wheel of the mouse on a web page.

  • Webshots smile updater tries to open when I start my computer, how can I get rid of the updater, but keep the old webshots?

I like webshots but hate the new smile of webshots.  It's a vile replacement which resulted when webshots was sold and then bought by a new company.  I want to keep my old webshots Photo Manager, so I can't remove webshots.  However, I want to stop the updater smile pop up every time my computer starts. Just to let you know, smile will fly, EACH photograph and film of the file on your computer if it can, then delete the webshots program if uninstall you it now.  This happened to a webshots Member who left on her computer too long.  It is the hearsay of bad intentions by the people to smile, but I don't want any chance of them access to my machine left in place.  Any help you can give on the withdrawal of this issue of update of the file will be more appreciated.

If you still have your photos on the old Webshots and they are not in Jpeg format, you can download and use a program called ultimate Webshsots converter and then they will be visible even without the old Webshots Photo Manager. Then you can just keep them in your Windows Photo Gallery, which has a pretty decent screensaver. They have more tags or titles on them, but when I went into My Documents, "more...". ", clicked on research and has recently changed then scroll far all JPEG images, are seen as icons, all titles were there. It also eliminates the problem with copyright of Webshots being on each photo, even your own, which is how they are displayed in the smile. I hate the new site also and was horrified when my old Webshots has simply disappeared without warning last week. The more people who know how to transfer their photos with this little program UWC, more hopefully will recover their photos and quickly uninstall the new smile of their computers, never to return. Good luck!

  • I want to get rid of the bar that keeps going from top of my screen Windows 8.1

Is a black bar that tells me where I come from and I have to keep clicking on it to get rid of - whenever I put my cursor anywhere near the top of the page - he comes down and tells me where I am as I did not already know that!  It's really annoying. It isn't the charms bar or bottom task bar.  Help

    1. Do not use the touch applications
If you are using a desktop computer, you can consider using office programs instead of applications built for touch screens.
    2. Do not use a mouse pointer
Still, if you use a mouse pointer, you can consider using programs that were designed for users of mouse (desktop programs) instead of the tablet interface.
    3. Use your fingers
It will never appear if you use your fingers, which is how these applications have been designed to be used.
    4. If you want to really use a soft touch without use your fingers, then avoid pointing to the top of the screen.  Or, ignore it: just because it occurs does not mean that you can not just continue to use your application normally.
