  I'd take a serious look at FrameScript. FrameScript has built-in ODBC support, you can connect directly to your database and use SQL queries to get your data into FrameMaker. There also ActiveX is supported, so you can use ADODB technology to get data from your database. I did the import of the database in a bunch of my scripts over the years.   My iMac recognizes my camera (a Canon Powershot S100 Digital Elph).  I know because he begins to iPhoto and automatically load images.  The problem is, I'm sick and tired of iPhoto, and I want to use Photoshop Elements instead.   When I connect the camera to the iMac (via USB), I don't get a camera icon which means a new volume or disk on my desktop.  Then when I open Photoshop 4.0, I can't find the files to import.  I could allow the computer to automatically import in the iPhoto library, then manually drag image files in a different directory for use by PSE, but this seems too complicated.  Why should I do this?  Please help if you can.

  Right. It's all the same problem. Launch the Image Capture when your photo/card reader device is not connected and choose no request for the program to open when you connect a camera.

  Yes. Just pre-create the table partitions WITHOUT in the system that you want to import. Then start the import operation with ignores = (ignore existing objects). To import the rows in the table, and since it is not defined with partitions there is no partitions.
