Can I install an SSD in a Pavilion DV9925NR

I want to improve the performance of this laptop and thought it would be useful that I went with an SSD. I put one in and if I can exactly what I look for in an SSD that will work in this phone?

Also now I have 4 GB of ram, I can improve to 8?

Thank you

Bruce

Its actually the original SATA aka SATA-I (150 MB/s) and yes it will work to use a SATA-III... All SATA is backward compatible. Think of it as a hard drive... you can use any 2.5 inches in width and 7 or 9 mm thick SATA SSD. Windows 7 includes the storage controller you need: just install and he knows an SSD when he sees one, and optimize it.

If you are really looking for a concert of good sale 250 that SSD are now right at $100. Even if the laptop dies, I guess you can always reuse the SSD.

You have to SWAP out the HDD existing instead for a new SSD.

  • Can I install an ssd and its system of MacBook Pro mid-2010 on a Mac Pro mid 2009

    Hello

My MacBook Pro just died yesterday (logic board) and I want to install the SSD with the system on a Mac Pro.

I just ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine.

I wonder if I can boot directly from this SSD or if I do the previous setting in the system.

Given that the Mac is able to run the latest version of Mac OS X, and you want to move the SSD for older Mac rather than new, it should work. I guess that saying you 'ordered a case to install the ssd drive in the machine' you mean connecting via USB rather than internally, which would be a great test.

If it works, I would say running the combo for OS update comes on the SSD once it is installed in the older Mac.

  • can I install an SSD on an optical drive in a HP Envy Phoenix

I just bought a custom HP ENVY Phoenix Desktop - 810-350se CTO with a Raid 5 (3 x 2 TB) configuration, but I noticed and did some research it seems that it's better to have an SSD installed for faster computer access data, of course, I want to use for the operating system installed on it.  So I have two questions?

(1.) I can change the configuration so that I can add a SSD on an optical drive? (This will be the 4th disc). Since I already use 3 HARD drive on a Raid 5 configuration and there is no more space on the left, I guess I can only use an empty space of optical drive and install a SSD?

2.) is there a limitation on the number of readers and HARD disk can be installed on the motherboard?

My proposed solution is to keep the 3 HARD drive and install a 4th disk (SSD) on the optical drive and use it to the operating system (Windows 8.1).

    Recommendations or suggestions is appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Your PC is already using a bootloader of Windows 8 and if you load the SSD in UEFI mode, then you will add an another boot loader of Windows 8 for the menu eligible boot device.  This will lead to confusion.  I suggest that you avoid this situation by trying the following procedure:

    1. Don't forget to create the external HP recovery media
    2. Install the SSD on port 1 or 2
    3. Disable startup secure in the BIOS and set the legacy mode
    4. Start the Intel OPROM and rebuild the matrix RAID 5
    5. Boot into the BIOS and UEFI mode
    6. Start the external HP recovery media and load the SSD drive (SSD recommended size is 240 GB or more)
    7. Once you are currently running and then go to disk management and upward and format the matrix RAID like TPG

The above procedure may or may not work, but that's what I would first try.

  • I can't install mSATA SSD?

Hi, I wanted to know if I have the option to install an mSATA SSD drive in one of the following: (not preinstalled, but on my own)

    HP Envy 15z-Q300 (L6E56AAR)

    HP Envy 15z-Q100 (L6E55AAR)

I see the models above on EBay and more here on the site of HP:

    HP Envy 14 t J100 Win 7 laptop (L9B25AV_1)

    Grateful for any help.

AMD model No., you can not install a WSSD. The answer on Intel models depends on the specific model. Many cannot use a WSSD as boot drive, but some can.

  • I can add install additional SSD on the S230U Twist HHD version?

    The price is very close to 128gSSD / 4 g/i5 and i7 / 8 g/320gHHD?
Can I buy the latest version and install additional SSD by myself to get the best flexibility to upgrade?

    Hi, Woodennail

Unfortunately this isn't possible without voiding the warranty. As evidenced by this page, the only parts that can be replaced by a user are the hard drive and the hard drive cover. Any other room, for example an mSATA SSD, must be installed or replaced by the staff of Lenovo.

  • Can I install an ssd m2 in a VN7 Aspire 591 G (Nitro)?

Canadian who do not come with SSD, but I would like to install an and I wonder if its possible. If so, what size should it be?

I found this: "well, first of all: the m2 in the VN7 - 591 G Groove is 'only' SATA, PCIe is not supported, because as far as I know.» Maybe (but I don't know who) the PCIe will work, but even in this case only with mSATA-speeds, so it's just a waste of money. just the motherboard does not support the PCIe m2.

The OCZ Vertex2 is fine. Be aware that you will need to purchase a support of adapter 3.5 'as the 1.8 SSD'. I highly recommend the OCZ SSD. I own a Vertex 64 GB SSD and love it.  The OCZ forum gives great support. You will find a guide that should be fairly simple installation.

  • Adding an SSD in HP Pavilion 15

    Hi all.

Consider buying an HP Pavilion 15 (model P002EJ ) to be precise.

It comes with i7 4510U, 12 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD and 15.6 "screen FHD.

I just wanted to ask: can I install an SSD in this laptop without removing the existing HARD drive?

Just add to the laptop or to replace the optical drive with SSD drive (or most certainly move the HARD disc instead of the optical drive using a few installation SSD and HDD Caddy where the original HARD drive was) is accepted. Replace the existing HDD (out of the laptopshould be the last resort, if nothing is possible.

Thanks much for any info and help!

P.S. I think the manual of this product is: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03883388.pdf

    Here's the manual I found:

    Manual

This is one of those without easy access service door, requiring disassembly very extended to the memory and the hard drive. These improvements are not allowed for end users and will cancel the guarantee. I wouldn't buy thinking to upgrade. The manual that you posted shows a service door which is not actually present on the model you want.

  • Satellite A300-17 - can I go with SSD?

Can I put a SSD for my computer and size is available?

    Hello

Yes, you can also install an SSD HARD drive instead this should be no problem because the laptop support already SATA interface. So you need a 2.5 SSD that will adapt to your computer.

The exchange of HARD drive is described here:

Just a few questions about this:

  • 15-ab236nl Pavilion: Pavilion 15-ab236nl install an SSD

    Hello

I am interested in buying this laptop

    Pavilion 15-ab236nl

AFAIK, there is no option for a second HARD drive, so if I change the default HARD drive with an SSD in my choice would that work? (which means I'm able to reinstall Win10 etc..)

or rather, if I had to buy a HARD drive for this model caddy, swap it with the DVD drive and install it with a SSD would that work? Do I need any special ribbon cable?

There is no information about this exploit, so if anyone has any opinions or knowledge that would be great.

I'm just asking if it is possible, not how, that would come later.

Here are the applicable maintenance manual:

    Manual

The first thing I want to emphasize is that this type of change, which probably will void the warranty. That said, it is possible to install an SSD, and according to the configuration you order, you can add a second hard drive in the slot of the WSSD m2 or the SATA connector, if she's not busy factory.

You generally don't want to use the optical Bay for one SSD because the interface is slower than the main SATA bus and a player any connected as it will not be bootable, so you end up just with very expensive and paralyzed storage speed if you put an SSD in there. The best thing to do is to get out the mechanical hard drive spinner, put it in the optical Bay for storage and install an SSD. The m2 slot gave people fits, so I recommend you just work with SSD SATA 2.5 inch and not a m2.

Post back if you need help most.
