  Mac OS is locked for Mac hardware. Some people supported the hack to install it on the hardware Dell, but its not recommended and certainly not taken. If you want something like Mac OS, you can install Linux since its essentially a commercial version of Linux.

  Windows 8.1 is recommended on this system and the system should have been delivered with Windows 8.1. 8.1 Windows has a default terrible user interface and this should be changed following the instructions here:

  Although Windows 7 has a better user interface, Windows 8.1 will perform better and you won't need to download > 200 updates. Also in late summer that all Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 computers will be auto-updated Windows 10 (which sets the user interface of Windows 8.1) so there is little sense in making a full install of OS to get Windows 7 and not worth the price of a separate license of Windows 7 for only a few months of use.
