Can I receive a phone call on the iphone 5 s using internet?

Hello

I was using internet via WiFi with my iPhone 5s, but I couldn't the incoming call. I was contacted to another number and told me that my number in the iphone is not accessible. During this period, they tried to reach me, I was on the internet via Wifi. Once I went on the net, everything was working fine, I could receive calls.

TI is possible when you use internet via Wifi or data, I can not receive or make calls on the iPhone 5 s?

  • I received a phone call from someone claiming that I had a virus

I received a phone call from the India, claiming I had a virus, and it seems that I do... I followed the steps, they gave me, but I was unable to give them remote access to my computer (IE; take control). I found out because it is a scam.

As they were unable to access remotely are they still able to access my personal information?

And will install an antivirus on my computer to get rid of the virus known as I have now?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Looks like a scam. Please do not hear these calls. If they failed to take control of your computer, then there is no need to worry.

I suggest that you download, install and run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if it helps to flush out the virus.

I would also say that you used your main security software of Microsoft Security Essentials .

We received several calls saying updates could not be performed on our computer.  We were warned that the computer may crash.  They asked us to turn on our computer and they would try to make updates in this way.  I have a question the legitimacy of the request and how they got to our phone number.  Please respond by email and tell me it is OK.  In addition, the appellant also had a strong accent, it was very difficult to even understand.  Thank you for your response.

  • Make/receive phone calls via the software modem?

It is usually possible to make and receive calls through a PC modem such as the software modem for satellite P25 series?
I need any additional software to do this? (this is not about VOIP).

    Hello

I'm not sure what you mean exactly. You want to make a phone call over the internet?
I put t know which device you have, but I think that it s must support a modem.
You can use this modem to connect to the internet, but believe me; the modem connection is not very fast and the transfer of data has for a long time.

I think the phone call over the internet is a very good idea but only if someone has a lump and a broadband connection.

  • Today I received a phone call from 'Human IT Solutions'. The operator said that I had reported an error and asked me to log in

Original title: ERROR REPORT FIX - HUMAN IT SOLUTIONS.

Today I received a phone call from 'Human IT Solutions'.  The operator said that I had reported an error and asked me to log in and follow his instructions, as it was a very simple matter to deal with.  I typed in the flag of MS, "rt" track: this opened the window "run" in which I typed in 'eventvwr' followed by 'OK '.  This opened "Event Viewer".  At this point I told him I was not willing to go far and he didn't send me the "fix."  He said that his company had no authorization to send emails and our conversation ended.  I tried to inform Microsoft, but of course all their facilities help for XP are now US only and I couldn't find any way to inform them (I think they should know, and anyway, if it is a genuine appeal, it might be good to have).  Anyone got any ideas on the question of whether I have done the right thing or how to say MS?

ADF, I received today a similar appeal.  When I questioned his information on the company, he was very defensive and said "I have no cold calling, I'm in East London" I asked him to give me the name of the software MS causing errors, during which he compiled a long list of file extensions and avoided the question.  When I asked her name and phone number so I can get my husband to call him back, he began to read a number on phone, but the figures '0-1', the line was cut off.

I'm sure you made the right choice in putting an end to the conversation of what I lived today.  I have no idea how you would report to Microsoft, but wanted a response to you here to support your actions!

  • I received a phone call from a fellow of the center of Windows Service in Ontario

    original title: Windows repair center

I received a phone call from a classmate of the Service Windows in Ontario reports saying they received a lot of error in my computer and he was going in wrong places. I had no idea. His name was Nelson Jones, and he was actually control my computer. That interested me. Also, he wanted me to register with Windows Server so that they could help solve my computer issues, at a cost, of course, I expect if it is not a scam. Is there a way that can be verified. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

It is a phishing attempt! Do not give any information.

Reported people on these calls for a person who represents Windows (note: not Microsoft).

It is a scam! Not to follow their instructions or advice and not to provide ANY information to them.

Because they use the internet lines and/or phone to complete their fraud, there may be federal agencies in your country who are interested in discovering their calls. Their report directly to the appropriate agency if you feel you can contribute to their arrest and the charges.

Microsoft do NOT pick up the phone and start dialing customers and never phones/e-mails asking for personal information or asking them to visit a web site!

  • How can I ask Siri to make a phone call, if the telephone number is not in my contacts?

    Hi people

I do a lot of driving on the road. I health home where I travel to the patient's home and do some physiotherapy with them in their homes.  Many times I find myself adjust my schedule, while on the road in order to accommodate a schedule patient or let know that I'm running a little late.  One of the best features of the Siri is that it can call the numbers for you while you are busy with another task, IE. at the wheel.  Well lately, I noticed that she tells me she can't dial a phone number because the number is not in my contacts.  Unfortunately, I can't put the numbers in my contacts because it is my personal phone and any personal information of patients cannot be on my phone, computer, etc., I usually have to call on the road.  Before she could dial the number without any problems.  Now, when I say"Siri, please call 352-xxx-xxxx, she said," I'm sorry I can't find this number in contacts, you would I look for this number somewhere else?  No matter how I word it, even just saying "Siri, I know this number isn't in my contacts, but I still need to call 352-xxx-xxxx" I always get the same prompt of Siri.

That said, is it possible to fix this?  It would certainly make things a little easier for me while driving instead of having to look at the bottom of the phone to dial the number.  For any help or suggestion would be so appreciated.  Thank you in advance.

    Michael

I just tested a call by saying "call 800-xxx-xxxx on my iPhone 6. He knew immediately. I'm in iOS 9.2.1. Have you tried leaving out the ' Siri, please... " » ?

Have what troubleshooting you done? Update to the latest version of iOS? Reset the phone? Restore network settings? Restored from a return to the top? Restored like new?

    Hello Ann,.

If you allowed them access to your PC, then it is a problem. I considered reinstalling my OS and change all my passwords. It would also make sense, if you use the online banking etc., to inform your bank that you have a security hole on your PC. This will alert them to anyone using your current password to the Bank etc.

Recently received a phone call from a person saying that my computer has a virus online damage the hard drive.  They said that my computer license of Microsoft and utilimately ID wanted remote access to my computer via maintenance PC (pc22.com) to correct it.  Is this a new type of fraud that goes around?

It is not a new type of fraud, but it IS a scam.  MS does not give that kind of information, and they do not call users.

  • I also received a phone call from an Indian man who claims to make Windows and I have a Virus

I also received a phone call from an Indian man who said I had a virus, I did not open anything but try to connect but could not it says something like unable to connect that someonelse is connected, I tried to log on my girls password and the same thing happened there. When I closed the computer and re entered my password allowed me right there. My question is I did not open anything when he was on the phone I just connected, he was hacking my computer or was pure coincidence. I don't do banking over the internet, but I paid for a few things on the line and I'm afraid that he can get any substance persional. Help, please! Thank you

Only way he could access your computer is if you gave him the passwords, or enables a remote access connection by... you should have to install Teamviewer, Logmein or other legitimate applications and then give the code to access it.
