Can I set a default scanner in Windows 8?

I have three "all in one" type devices connected to my computer.  Two old HPs, and one is a new brother.

The default printer is set for my Brother printer system, and I don't want to change that.

Here is boredom: sometimes I do art projects involving the digitization of several images.  Whenever I'm in Windows Fax and Scan, it's kind of a pain because I offer a choice of three scanners.  I don't want to use a wireless, and the function of scan on one of the devices HP multi function is broken.  So, I still only use the flat of the hp 6110.

Anyone know if I can do this?

I solved this problem.

In Device Manager, I clicked on imaging devices and four things listed there: my two printers hp, brother and my webcam.

I have a right-click on a printer hp and selected disable.  The message says: "disable this device will stop working.  Do you really want to disable? »

I selected Yes.  I then did the same for the Brother printer

Now, when I go in fax and scan, I am not offered a choice of scanning devices.  I go directly to the choice of menus to do the scan with my hp 6110.  With respect to printing, I checked and verified that the hp and the Brother printer work. So the message that gaves from windows to the point where you can choose to disable is misleading.

Obviously, the camera itself is not disabled.  Only the scanner in the device is disabled.

Which brings me to another long date general annoyance I have with Microsoft.

Users should be able to copy and paste the text into any message that is displayed in response to everything that users do.

I wrote an editorial on this page on the linguistic challenges presented to people who want to solve their own problems.  I propose a solution that would allow users to more effectively solve their own problems.

Regarding the comments here - why Microsoft has not released a searchable database full error messages?

Unfortunately, Microsoft did not very basic things that make it easier for users to help themselves.

    What is the email client do you use?

    Outlook can be configured per - start Outlook-> Tools-> Options-> mail-> fixed Format and fonts... Select the font and size you need... Click ok on all screens.

    Create a template project with your desired settings.  Use it to start new projects and rename and save.

    Change in topic layout.css.devPixelsPerPx:-1 to 1.22 config makes things better. But I want the old default resolution.
    I have average - 125% for the resolution in the options panel.
    Does turning off hardware acceleration.

    Firefox on Windows is now after display, scaling options that can make the biggest text on screens at high resolution.
    You can adjust the resolution of your screen.
    To change it follow these steps:

    • Type of topic: config in the Firefox address bar and hit the Enter key.
    • If the warning that this might void your warranty , click I'll be careful, I promised.
    • Search for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx

    • Double-click layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to edit its value. The default value is - 1.0 in Firefox 22 and above. Change it to 1.0 to run as in previous versions of Firefox.

    If necessary, further adjust the value of 0.1 or 0.05. Values between 1.0 and around 0.5 to reduce the size of the elements. Use a value greater than 1.0 to increase the size. For example, a value of 1.25 will increase the font size of the 125% to account for the default DPI setting in Windows 8. Check the value that you enter. Definition of a value that is too small will take everything away and too high will explode things.

    If the web pages should always be adjusted so you can watch the extension Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint .

    To adjust the font size for the user interface, you can use the extension of theme font & size changer .

    When you go to the analysis, there should be a window that appears to select the format and the DPI of the analysis. There is also an option for the options of '/CSA/ '. Here you can change the default location to save on selecting another file of having sent them to analysis.

    Start > default of programs

    Click Set Program Access and Computer Defaults

    Click on the arrow in front of the custom (right) down

    Scroll down to choose a default media player

    Select Windows Media Player and click Ok

    Close the window

    You can also access two default programs in other ways.

    1. open Control Panel > default of programs

    2 tools > Internet Options > Programs tab
