Can I set a password for Firefox requirement before opening?

I want to put in place a requirement of connection to every time I open Firefox. My main concern is where I lost my phone, to prevent anyone from being able to open Firefox and see my favorites (for example I don't want them to know where I Bank, where I do my shopping, etc.). Is it possible to set up a username and password which is required to open Firefox?

No, there is no functionality of password for opening Firefox.

The first line of defense when it comes to worry about a lost device is a good password for the user accounts Windows on the device.

Another option is the master password + extension.

You must first make sure that Firefox uses a master password, for more details on how to do that see use a master password to protect stored logins and passwords. Then with the master password + extension in its options, go to the getting started section and make sure that "ask for password at startup" and "Exit if cancelled" is selected both.

As with all extensions, this protection is quite weak and can be bypassed if start you Firefox in safe mode that disables extensions.

My iPad 2 Air gives me the option to "set the password immediately".

the other two iPads give options, for example, 15 minutes, 1 hour, etc.

All three iPads running the latest IOS.

is this a glitch with my iPad 2 Air or are they all like that?

Why the 'immediately' is the only option? It looks like the other options are missing.

  • can I change the behavior for firefox menu to open instead of opening the 1st option lists?

is it possible to adjust the way the orange menu firefox behaves when you click an option?
currently hovering on an option opens the list below (for example, a list of bookmarks for favorite option, or a list of pages visited for the historical option) and clicking it opens the first item in the list.
I would like to change this so that the list is opened when you click an option, since it is not possible to hover using a touch screen.
It's quite annoying when the management of bookmarks screen opens if all I want to do is bookmark the current page (which is not possible in this form)

The orange button Firefox will be gone in Firefox 28 or 29, in releasing the Australis of redesign of the User Interface.

There are other ways to save a new bookmark. A double click on the star to the address bar does not work on a touchscreen device?

You don't have to log in to Firefox. Firefox is just a browser, such as Internet Explorer. Everything you have to do is double-click it and open it. It's like Internet Explorer. If you have some sort of password extension protecting your Firefox, it's different and you need to contact the developer of the extension.

  • Firefox has stopped to remember a password and now I can't retrieve the password. How can I access the passwords that Firefox remembered for me?

I have two youtube accounts, but Firefox has stopped reminding the password on one of them. Unfortunately I remember is no longer the password, like Firefox still remembered up to now. How can I access the password in Firefox, or is that not possible?

Try the menu Tools, Options and then on the Security tab.

Look for the "Passwords" section. From there, you should be able to see or manage stored passwords.

  • Cannot set the password for hard drive on the W530 with Intel SSD 520

    Hello

I have a w530 with an Intel SSD 520 in primary hard drive Bay. Whenever I try to set a password for the primary hard drive, it doesn't stick. If I chose master + user or simply user, I will enter the password, it will take the passwords without producing an error and then just dump back me to the screen of passwords while leaving the disabled hard drive password.

BIOS is on the latest version for the w530 and SSD, the machine seems fairly normally operate differently.

Does anyone have ideas how I can activate the password? Thank you!

    Hi, ctenorman

I did some research and came across this thread of Intel. There are a few people in the thread who were able to set the password on this particular drive. It seems that changing the BIOS "SATA" compatibility mode, set the password, restart, and then change it to "AHCI" worked for some, but not all customers with this player.

Good luck and let me know how it goes

  • Password reset disk error - "year error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account.

    Hello!

-A bit of background: the desktop PC that I use is Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, with active user accounts total five. I have my own account, and I can access the computer through (or through account from my brother, because I know its password).--

I had this problem recently came where the administrator password (that I know for a long time and never changed) no longer works. So, after some research, I created a reset password on a USB disk, that I found in my house. I managed to create the disc, but when I tried to put the new password, I got the message error "an error occurred while the wizard attempted to set the password for this user account', which I must say is not very clear. I found a few methods of force - reset the password for the account of the admin, as using a sort of Windows Vista DVD or go to Safe Mode to find the hidden administrator account... but I have no idea what this DVD is or where to find, and in Safe Mode, there is no account user administrator to be seen. I believe that my machine is corrupted, but I don't want to buy a new. I want just to reset a password...

Any help is appreciated. If I was not specific enough, I can specify in comments.

    Thank you!

    Hello

You must make a password reset disk before that there are problems with a password, not afterwards.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    Hi SilentEngima,

    Thanks for posting answers.microsoft.com

You can try to create another administrator account and then you can keep the new account and delete the old one (be sure to copy the necessary files in system folders is first!), or you can use the new account to set the password for the old account (e.g. from the control panel-> user accounts).
