Can I share files in icloud

I just pay for more storage in iCloud. I still have the files on Google Reader. It has been reliable and convenient, especially to share files with other people.

I can do this on iCloud? I have not yet found a way, and if I can't, then, it is pretty useless to me.

Thank you

You cannot share files with other people.

No, at the present time, iCloud is configured for use by a single account to share data between devices of the owner of this account.  Your best bet for what you are looking for would be to use a third party application like Dropbox or Google Drive.

  • How can I share files between Windows 7 Pro and a Mac with os x?

I have Windows 7 Professional and my colleague had a Mac with os x installed. We are physically in the same room, sharing a wifi connection. How to share files between two computers? That each of them should do on his computer?

If you display links, please check beforehand that the procedure for the mac is here. I found in the internet or other of the procedures for older systems Win or network only between Win 7 PCs.

    MOSH

Of course, you can do it easily. In fact, the implementation of sharing on Win7 last month was almost as easy as it is on OS X.  ;-) I find that the snow leopard has the same bugginess of show Windows machines only randomly in the sharing of the Finder section, as it did in Leopard, however. I usually connect to Windows machines by opening a window of Finder and using go > connect to server > smb://Windows-computer-name instead. In the Win7 box, I have the network to the desktop icon (you can get this to customize > change icon).

On OS X, make sure you have checked in the file sharing system preferences > sharing. Click the Options button, and then select "share files and folders using SMB." Add the shared directories as you wish.

You must create accounts/passwords user on the Mac and Windows 7. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop in Win7 (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this.

Start > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

You can find options to logon automatically for OS X in system preferences > accounts.

On Win7, go to control panel > all items in Control Panel > network and sharing Center. Click on "change the advanced sharing settings. You do not want to use Homegroup.

Discovery of plug in the network
Open the files and printers sharing
Turn on the sharing section Public folder sharing
    Plug the password protected sharing

Configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, Configuration File and Printer Sharing ON will take care of that for these machines, and if you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

OS X Firewall is done in System Preferences > Security. Click the lock to make changes, and then click the Advanced button to ensure that SMB sharing is allowed. If you set up in the share pod, it will be.

On Win7, create shares as desired. I usually just share the Public, users desktop folder and all hard drives of additional data in the system. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Can't share files and printers on the network. Error message: Server service is not started.

I GET a MESSAGE SHOW "SERVER SERVICE NOT STARTED" I ALSO TRIED WINDOWS HELP AND IT SAYS HELP AND SUPPORT NOT START. HOW CAN I GET THESE TO START AUTOMATIC

What version of Windows, including the service pack is installed? (Do right click my computer and select Properties, if you do not know)

The method 1 and method 2 in this article--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/885859

If you're in the Services applet according to method 1, also make sure that the Startup Type is set to automatic (to resolve, double-click the entry in the Services; Startup type is under the general tab).

You can also start Help and Support by using the Services applet (its Startup Type can be manual or automatic).

If you receive error messages when you try to follow the steps above, report completely, without paraphrasing.

The fact that two fairly common services do not work can mean that something more sinister is happening.  What antivirus application do you use?  What's his current subscription?  Its subscription has already been authorized expiration?

You can download, install, update and run MalwareBytes AntiMalware (it of free and can be removed later if you wish).

  • Can I share files to editable iMovie project?

I'm working on a video file, and a colleague I would like to make a montage as well. Is it possible to send the project to change them, and then they send it to me? It sems like the older versions had a more accessible file, but I can not locate the (or the info on it) for the current version.

Using iMovie 10.1.2 on Yosemite, iMac 27 "4K

    Bill F, Jacksonville, FL

This somewhat difficult, but possible.  First, I would put the project and all the events he needs in a separate library, because you will need to send the library complete to your colleague and even this library is likely to exceed the limit of 5 GB of Apple MailDrop or other free file transfer services (and it will take a long time to download).  Is may be easier to view the library on a memory stick.  If you have included all media in other libraries of Apple (iTunes, Photos etc.) you will need to consolidate library (see: http://help.apple.com/imovie/mac/10.1/#/mov882dee351) so that these elements are copied in the library and not referenced to the original.  Because Apple frequently changed the format of database of library iMovie between updates (even minor ones), your colleague must use exactly the same version.  Unless the memory stick is in the format of Apple (not usual default FAT - formatted) and fast USB (3), they should copy the copy of the library with the finder on their hard drive and then copy it on the handle after the change.

Note that if your colleague will provide a part separate from the film so it would be easier for them to create it as a separate project, then combine the two projects later.

    Geoff.

  • Share files between conmputer, one XP and one on W7

I installed a new router, connect to the internet and to connect two computers, one running XP, one on W7. Internet access for both is fine, they are on the same workgroup, etc.. This allows to work perfect for the previous router I had installed. Now I can't share files between computers, and yet all the settings seem to be OK. There are so many settings in XP, I've lost track. Network of form of WHAT XP installation disc does not work in W7, of course. What hideous setting I missed? What's wrong?

  • cannot share files from my Vista computer

I have a home network with 4 PC on it. My main PC is a Vista desktop computer, it is connected to my router. The other PC is connected wirelessly. I have a laptop with windows 7. and 2 other desktops with xp installed.  My problem is the following... I have no problem to share files and folders off my public folder on my Vista machine with the rest of the network, but for some reason, I can't share files or folders on my home network on any other place on the Vista PC.  I have an extra hard drive 500 gig installed on my Vista PC I want to use it as a central backup for all of my network drive... but for some reason that I cannot share any files or folders on this drive. I have no problem sharing the drive with other users on this pc... but I can't do it shared on the network. I tried all the conventional techniques of sharing, but no luck. I just get a message that the network resource is not available. It appears on my network under the PC, but it is not accessible. Initially, I wanted to share the entire disc... but advised him to be just a folder in the drive to share rather than trying to share the root of the drive... but still no luck.   What Miss me?

Note: this is a problem with all of my machines in network... not a single one of them can access this drive.

    Hi EJLOTT,

First of all, I would say that you talk below link and make sure all the necessary settings on the network for all the computer are set correctly.

You can use the VMware shared folders feature that allows access to files on Mac since the guest operating system, you need to install VMware Tools in the prompt, or you can go in both directions using the built-in standard SMB/CIFS sharing of files on each OS.  It's your choice.  Assuming that it was determined that network connectivity between the host and the guest needed for the method later then the rest is not not a VMware Fusion questions and the help files for Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows Help Files cover how to implement sharing of files on each OS.
