Can I sync my Apple Mail folders "on my Mac" between my iMac and my Macbook?

I make a lot of emails in folders in the section "on my Mac" in Apple Mail. Is there anyway to make them appear on my MacBook, when I'm traveling. Otherwise, all the emails saved in different folders on my home iMac are not able to access it from my MacBook.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

The whole point of a mailbox "on my Mac", it's that you don't want to sync with other devices. If you don't want to synchronize, forward messages to an IMAP server (for example, iCloud) by dragging them in the Inbox on the server.

  • Why can my customer receive e-mails from my iPad but not my IMac?

Hello, I have an iMac OS X Yosemite, Version 10.10.5, 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and an iPad. Last year, I worked with a client, have no difficulty emailing back. I use Yahoo Mail. Recently, my customer migrated from Lotus notes to Outlook (version 2010) and cannot receive my email from my iMac. Only they can, however, make from my iPad. It's the explanation of their IT Department. "I have recently gone from Lotus to Outlook. When I was on Lotus our security does not come into conflict. When I migrated to Outlook the Outlook security is that collide with your security is why I do not receive emails sent through your computer. Safety on the iPad is different and is compatible with my computer which is why emails sent from your iPad come to me. "We tried to check SPAM, junk mail, basic troubleshooting. I'm not big on technique and I need to be able to send this email to the person of my computer. Help, please!

Is the address of the customer e-mail different since he switched to Outlook? If so, have you changed his e-mail address in your Contacts? My guess is when you type an email to that customer and you start to overlay in his name in the of: domain, Mail automatically fills to its OLD yahoo.com email address.

If you have two email addresses on your iMac for this customer - one for his old account from yahoo.com and one to his new Outlook account, delete the OLD e-mail address to your Contacts.

  • Apple Mail & IMAP Bell of intermittent problems of connection and synchronization

I had Bell (Canada) mail for years and has implemented the server IMAP end of 2015 but just 2-3 weeks ago I started having problems with my iPhone and Macbook, mailboxes remaining in harmony.

If I delete a message or move it to a folder, it may or may not do on the other device, or on the Web page of @bell.net for mail. He will sometimes move but leave the message as 'read' in the Inbox on other devices.

Also I see mail on the Macbook sometimes happen and then moments later disappear but still be on the phone.

I am also getting intermittent messages:

don't arrive on iPhone6 - mail. The imap.bell.net mail server is not responding. Check that you entered the correct email account information in Mail.

on Macbook using Mac Mail - Server returned the error: connections to the imap.bell.net on the default ports server has expired.

These messages may appear for a few minutes, and then it checks mail very well. Very random and intermittent.

Crazy. I spoke with tech support several times in recent weeks, nothing helps. All the settings are correct and updated test / verified several times. Anyone else having this problem? They seem not to be aware of this...

    Thank you!

Notes and reminders of synchronization between Apple devices?

    Hello

Notes does not synchronize with Apple Watch.

There are currently no separate recalls on Apple Watch application, but still, your watch can be used to manage reminders in the reminders on your iPhone app (or other device from Apple that is connected to reminders with your Apple ID):

    • Create new reminders using Siri:
      • For example: Hey Siri, remind me < when > < what >
    • Meet reminders with Snooze, finished or do disappear.

  • Apple Mail / time bug window machine

    Hello

I'm having a problem with Time machine and Apple Mail. I had backups for over a year now using drives not 1, but 2, to be sure. I came recently in the situation where I would like to restore some of the emails which account is so more on Apple Mail (it's an old exchange account).

I tried to open Apple Mail and then let Time Machine run on it (both with 2 drives connected with each other and with each of them separately connected), but there seems to be some sort of bug where the window Apple Mail on the open Machine time gets replicated and shown again 3 - 4 times, full screen and they all say "click on restore to recover...» "but are the Inbox empty names and emails. I can't do any recovery because neither the timeline on the left, nor the Cancel/restore buttons appear usually found when you use Time Machine are: what happens is that Time machine by itself appears to restore a couple of (corrupt) windows in full screen, which in fact, I see on the mission control , but I can do anything with because they aren't even in the environment of type galaxy of Time Machine.

Has anyone else had this problem (not necessarily with Apple mail)? If so how do solve you this problem? I would like to know if it is really possible to get a recovery of e-mail Time machine with what's happening... It's a shame because in principle, I have all the data in Time Machine, even on separate disks 2 (rotating backups).

    Thank you

    Youssef

Although you can restore a snapshot of Time Machine messages in the Mail application, it usually will not work with messages that were saved by an outdated version of the mail. In this case, you must use another method.

Please triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select:

    ~/Library/Mail

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

    Services ▹ Open

the contextual menu.* should open a folder.

Enter Time Machine and scroll to the snapshot that you want to restore from. The folder named "Mail" are subfolders named "V2" and/or "V3" (according to the version of Mac OS X that was used at the time that the snapshot was taken.) Inside of one of these subfolders are several subfolders representing your e-mail accounts. The name refers to the email addresses that you use. Select the account folders you want and then select

    Restoration of the... to the...

in the action menu (gear icon) in the toolbar of the Snapshot window. Restore the files on the desktop and not in their original location.

Import the mailbox in the folders that you restored to the office. The imported messages appear in a new mailbox. Move those you want to keep everywhere where you want and delete the rest. Then, delete the files on the desktop.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

  • How can I sync 2 different libraries

We have 1 account on 2 computers, my husband has a charge if music it has loaded disc, how can I sync his ipod. He wants only to reset her ipod and sync with my library?

You can manually manage an iPod from several libraries. You have to go to auto sync for manual management via the library currently used for synchronization or iTunes want to remove existing content.

    Sync iPod/iPhone/iPad with two computers

It is not possible to synchronize an Apple device with two different libraries, however it is possible to synchronize with the same logic of several computers library. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPhone/iPad compared to the local ID with the unit synchronizes normally with. Are they the same, you can go ahead and sync, otherwise iTunes will want to erase and reload, even when two libraries contain the same files from media. Manual management is not an option with an iPhone because he still wants you to use a single library.

I have my library cloned on a small 1 TB USB I can take between home and work. In each position, I use SyncToy 2.1 for updating the local copy with the hard disk external. Mac users should be able to find other similar tools. I can open the local libraries or the external hard disk and refresh the content of my devices media. Except light is Photos that normally connects to a specific folder on a specific computer, but which can easily be remapped to the library if you create a folder "Photos" in the iTunes Media folder so that files iTunes synchronization maintains this update as well. I regularly scan my library for new files & orphans with iTunes folder watch just in case I have make changes somewhere but then replace the library with one more recent copy of the other. Once again Mac users should be able to find other similar tools.

As long as your support is organized in an iTunes Media folder, held in turn in the main iTunes folder containing your library files (whether or not you let iTunes media folder organized) each library can access the elements on the same relative path to the library folder so the library can be to different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same version of iTunes. If your library is perhaps not in the correct layout see make a library of portable split.

When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there is an entry for it, making it virtually redundant manual management on the iPhone. This behavior has been changed slightly, but it will again that a manual with a library that has the ID management right. If you do not want to sync your library between machines on a copy just regularly the file iTunes Library.itl 'House' to any other current machine, you want to use, then clean up the entrances to the library and import of local content that you have on this box. However, you lose other benefits of synchronization.

For those who no longer have access to the original see library recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device.

  • The watch is not, nor can it sync with reminders.

I bought at the Apple Watch last week.  I'm back this week.  Why?  The watch is not, nor can it sync with reminders.  For me, this is the reason more and more useful to have the watch.  Without the reminders and the ability to easily sync with other devices, it is not a value of the purchase.  I am disappointed by the lack of foresight of Apple and didn't want to patch the problem with a third-party application.  It will be difficult to come back to me.

  • Anyway to serve Apple Mail to send the message to avoid?

A different perspective on the problems of e-mail with El Capitan. (Probably not systemic, but I wonder if there is NO solution short of reformatting the hard drive.)

Woman tries to send a new email to herself yesterday to test send, receive, but she used a nonexistent account send (it's only reception). She had done this before in Yosemite, and it was no big thing to stop trying to send. But in El Capitan, Apple Mail is toast because * it won't end *.  I can easily close Apple Mail, but no submission, no home, no deletion and not at all bad editing message is possible I found. Cold start is no help. Relocation of El Capitan is no help. Closing iCloud is no help. Is it possible to purge the Outbox, when Apple Mail will do only one thing: try furiously and impossible forever to send this message, consuming vast bandwidth processor for any other application running, each time Mail is opened. (Other applications run very well if the Mall is closed).
