Can I transfer a partition to install Windows 8 for optical media for a laptop?

Hi all

The laptop comes with Windows preinstalled 8 and a score of 'install' to 'reset to factory settings.

1st quarter) I can transfer this 'partition install' to other media (thought to put it on an optical medium - DVD)?

Q2) Will it activate again ok on the new drive?

If Windows 7 Home Premium came pre-installed on this laptop, the answer is no.

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

What is disadvantages of creating partition after installing windows Xp or windows 7 or Windows 8?

None in general, you can assign optical readers or card readers a different drive letter for drive letters may be consecutive.

Specifically, if you're talking about reducing the existing operating system partition it is pretty reliable but could save all important files 1.

The choice to create more partitions during setup of the system instead of when Windows is online I would choose the first when possible.

Have you tried using a different DVD?

I would also create a USB support and then try to install.

    My first level of troubleshooting:

    Re-1 display drivers).

    (2) connected in safe mode and watched 5 minutes and has not seen the question. Seems the problem occurring in normal mode only.

I forgot my password for windows 7 for my laptop and a reset disk has not been created. How can I recover the password or create a new one? and I have a dell inspiron one 19 desktop... your help will be very appreciated thanks in advance!

Here are the usual methods to solve this problem:

    • Restart the computer with your Windows repair CD, then use system restore to set Windows in a few days (only works if you have recently changed the password).
    • Logging in as a different admin account and then reset the password for your existing account (works only if create you an alternative admin account).
    • Log in as administrator mode without failure, then reset the password for your existing account (works only if you have activated the account administrator and know its password).
    • Insert your flash drive USB with the password key file (only works if you have created such a keyfile).
    • Check your paper files (works only if you threw down the password somewhere)

If none of these standard precautions work for you, then the remedy will be painful. Post again if this is the case.

If the copy of PC comes with Windows preinstalled, you can not.  Windows OEM copies that come preinstalled on a computer chip when the computer dies.  If you purchased your copy of Windows in a store, just go ahead and install it.

  • How can I re - install Windows Vista without the media?

machine will not start in vista

I have a gateway W34DUA with windows vista it will not load vista how do you get the thing to reinstall without a disk I'm thinking it was pre loaded

or can I get a disc and use the product key from the back and reinstall?

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    "Full factory recovery"

    http://support.gateway.com/s/software/Microsof/Vista/7515418/7515418su531.shtml

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

  • Change Partitions and install Windows 7 Ultimate

I have 2 GB of ram & when I bought my Sony laptop, I got Best Buy Geek Squad partition my 150 GB C:\ drive to have a G:\ and H:\ drive partitions. I want to remove or delete partitions G:\ & H:\ and C:\ use all of the 150 GB less space reserved for shadow copies of backup.  Disk Mgr, I cannot extend the C:\.volume. After I develop C:\ I want to upgrade Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate, or install a full version of Windows 7 Ultimate, regardless of the method will work best... All my data is backed up & I have all my DVD software if I have to reinstall all my programs.  What is the simplest and most accurate procedure to implement these two changes? Aka VDS disk management won't allow C:\ to extend its volume in the free space of 50 GB. For some reason, backups of photos take almost all C:\ 100 GB with free space only 1.45 even after I have remove all except the most recent backup.  I am very frustrated and if I knew how, I would go in the BACK, rub everything and load Windows 7 Ultimate full version and start all over again, but I don't know enough to know if it will work.  I appreciate your instructions... Thank you.

Since you have backups of your user files and your programs can be installed again, the simplest method is the one that is most likely to lead to a stable system of Windows 7 for long distances. Boot from the Windows 7 DVD. Use the facilities on the DVD to remove all the present partitions. Next, install a new Windows 7 system hard disk. Once completed the installation stage, let the system updated with all the security and update other Microsoft offerings. Then, install your programs, and copy backup your user files.
It is also possible to boot from the Windows 7 DVD and use its facilities to remove G and H. Then you can develop C to fill up the drive and install Windows 7 on C.
There are tutorials on Details he to do that and other options on the web.

  • which partition to install windows 7 on new system

I just bought a new laptop without system. I got a copy of windows 7 Home premium 64-bit to put on.

The hard drive is 1000 GB and is divided into 4
Name: Total size: free space: Type
    Disk 0 partition 1 GB 29.3, 29.2 GB system
    Disk 0 partition 2 GB 29.3, 29.2 GB primary
    Disk 0 unallocated space go-go 871.8 871.8
    Partition of drive 0 3: LENOVO_PART 1.1 GB 457.0 MB OEM (reserved)
I know not to touch the OEM, but the marked partition system used allows to install because it is formatted in FaT32 and said it requires NTFS. 2 other partitions are viable, but I don't know which one to use. My instinct would be to go to the primary partition scored because I think that space, it would be OK and keep the operating system from everything that will go on the laptop. But I don't know about you. What do you guys suggest?

The System Partition "Disk 0 partition 1 is where you would put it.

To be honest, I would just remove everything and do a fresh install and create more partitions after.

Are you sure there is no operating system already located on the OEM (reserved) file, you can use to install Windows? Because what is the meaning of keep if you already use a different installation media?

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

    http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4HWSE3

Computers laptops Lenovo include a function called the Lenovo OneKey Recovery button, which is used to boot into the recovery environment and to reinstall Windows.

    ---------------------

If you still want to use the installation media you have, follow these steps:

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD

    Click Install now

    Accept the license agreement

When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)

    Click on drive Options

Select the disc/s click on Delete

    Click new

    Click on apply

    Click OK

Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation

  • Now, formatted recovery partition cannot install Windows 8.

    Original title: installation.

I mistakely to format all partitions, including the recovery on my hp laptop now im trying to install the new copy, but I can't help it please me do not know what to do

Its best you contact HP recovery media that you can use to reinstall the pre-installed copy of Windows 8. He also recommended because of the following:

With Windows 8, Microsoft changed stickers that have the product key that the user must type in during the installation of the operating system of new embedded BIOS product key. The idea is that by eliminating the tile, you eliminate one of the easiest ways for nefarious users get a legitimate product key. The sticker also eliminating product key removes any concern that the vignette could get damaged while at the same time eliminating the long and irritating the process of typing in various letters and numbers in the installation of the operating system.

If the user has to reinstall the operating system on a computer with Windows 8, the installation process automatically captures key software product of the motherboard BIOS without input from the user. This means that these stickers familiar windows product key will no longer appear on Windows 8 computers.
