Can I transfer my photos on iCloud and always keep them on my Mac?

Can I transfer my photos on iCloud and always keep them on my MacMini?

Yes. Indeed if you use iCloud photo library and delete a picture of the Photos app on your Mac, it will be also deleted icloud.

If you open the preferences of Photos and click on iCloud at the top of the preferences window and turn on iCloud photo library and also select the 'download for the Mac originals"rather than the"Optimize Mac Storage"option, the original size will be kept on your Mac.

  • How can I transfer a photo library (raw and jpeg files) fram without loss of metadata and keywords?

How can I transfer my favorite photos library on my MacBook to another library on an external hard drive without losing metadata and keywords?

If you want to keep the metadata, you must export the images as the current versions, edited. File > export > export... images.  Then you can turn on the indicator "Tile, keys, descriptions words":

Choose a high quality for JPEG, not to lose quality.  To the RAWs export them under like TIFF picture.

You can export the RAWs as "file > export > export original unmodified" and keep it RAW, but which will not include the metadata.  And the Photos will allow you to export an XMP file with metadata, but when I tested, it did not apply the metadata when you import the RAW files again. So the best compromise for the RAW format would be to export as TIFF, another lossless format.

  • How do you delete photos from an iPhone but keep them on a mac

I want to delete some photos from my iPhone 6 but keep them on my MacBook - how can I do this?

    Hey Jill,.

This should be possible as long as you do not use icloud photo library.

With iCloud, photo library, your devices are giving you access to your library, which is stored directly in iCloud. Therefore, when you delete a photo of iCloud photo library on any device, it removes from everywhere.

When you turn off the iCloud photo library, each device is its own independent photo library. You must manually import pictures from your phone to your MacBook, then you could remove your phone at will.

If you wish to continue using iCloud photo library, but also want to save space on your phone, consider turning on Optimize iPhone storage in the section Photos to your phone settings iCloud!

  • How to make photos of iCloud backup without keeping them on your phone?

I want all my photos and videos saved on my iCloud account.  But once they are saved, I want to delete it from my phone.  Is this possible?  When I turn the iCloud library in my settings, it adds to my phone ALL the photos on my drive to iCloud.

Also, where are my photos in my iCloud drive?  When I go to my iCloud app, I see only documents.

I take more than 1,000 photos per month so that ends up being a big problem for me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

First question - simple answer, no, you cannot delete the pictures from your device once it is in iCloud.  iCloud is not designed as a traditional backup solution, but rather a synchronization solution, i.e. all sync perfectly on all your devices.

If you want to save space on your device, consider using the iPhone Optimize storage under settings option > iCloud > Photos.  Alternatively, if you consider that a traditional cloud database backup solution, consider using a third party such as Flickr, Dropbox or Google Photos option.

Second question - your photos will not be accommodated in iCloud drive.  It will be separate to the title of the Photos app.

    Good luck.

  • can [4820tg] I replace my hard drive and always keep the Windows license?

Hey! A quick question, on an older laptop that is still alive.

    Acer Aspire 4820TG

    Windows 7 family

Can I replace the hard drive and install Windows again?

I mean, I burned the recovery CD or software any Acer asked when the computer was new. Those can be used to install Windows if I replace the current hard drive?

If so, how does the license? I guess that they can not be used on another computer, but I can reinstall all I want on this one?

    Thanks in advance!

And this laptop is awesome. Runs strong through its 4th year and the battery still pumps on ~ 4-5 hours by being careful with the use. Heh, the other parts are probably die slowly, including the hard drive.

    Well.

    Yes to all your questions.

You must use the recovery media that you have created, just check that they are still ok or create a new one, just in case where.

on the license, it's like SLIC table BIOS, so you don't need to enter a serial number and your windows will be activated automatically.

  • How do I delete photos from my phone but keep them in my Mac?

    Hello

I have my phone set up to use iCloud for photo only stream. When in range, I can see the latest pictures in my Mac photo stream. I want to be able to save some of these images immediately in my iPhoto and delete them from my phone. How to achieve this?

    That's what I tried:

    1. create an album and do drag the photos chosen there.

    2 go to remove them.

Result: Images are not created album.

My solution: get BAC "recently deleted".

Result: Photos reappears in the album and are erased from the photo stream

Last step: drag the album in iPhoto events

My approach seems to be too many steps for something that should be simple, and something tells me that even this approach could not accomplish what I intend to do. Please notify. I will appreciate your comments.

    Something isn't here...

    1. Please all first confirm if the application that you are using on iPhone and Mac's iPhoto or Photos.

    2. Please confirm if iCloud library is enabled.

If the applications are Photos and iCPL is enabled, that would explain the behavior you're seeing.

  • How can I transfer my photos to an external HD mediathek?

How can I transfer my photos to an external HD mediathek?

I m using an iMAC with OS X 10.11.1 El Capitan and Fotos 1.2 9.1.

    Hi NordundSued,

If you want to store your photo library on an external drive, the process is as simple as (after checking that the photo is not open) copy the existing photo library on the external hard drive, and then at the opening of the Photos with the option key and choosing this library. Once you have verified that the library works correctly from the external hard drive, you can go ahead and delete the original if you want to free up space.

By default, your system library is stored in the folder of images on your Mac, but you can move it to another location on your Mac, or store it on an external storage device. To use iCloud services, however, the external storage device must be formatted using the format Mac OS extended (journaled), also known as HFS +.

    Switch between any libraries

    1. If photo is open, choose Photos > Photos of quit smoking.

    2. Hold down the Option key and double click on the Photos icon in the Applications folder (or click on the pictures of the Dock icon) to open the pictures.

    3. In the select Library dialog box, do one of the following:

      • Click the library that you want to use, then click on choose a library.

      • If the library you want does not appear in the select Library dialog box, click other library, navigate to the location of the library, select it, then click on choose a library.

Designate a library as the library of the system

You can switch to another library and designate as the photo library of the system. For more information on the considerations to keep in mind when it designates another picture of system library, see Overview of the system of the library.

To designate the current library as the library of the system:

Choose Photos > Preferences, click general, and then click on use as Photo library system.

Important: If you switch to another library, Photos automatically turns off all iCloud services. To use iCloud photo library, iCloud, sharing photos and my photo stream with a library of pictures newly designated system, you must activate them again in the Photos of iCloud preferences pane. When you turn on iCloud library after designation of a new library system, photos stored in iCloud are merged with those of the Photo library new system. Once the new Photo system library content is downloaded to iCloud, libraries cannot be split, so it's a good idea to look carefully before modifying your library system.

  • How can I send my music to icloud and free up storage on my ipad that is full

I own an ipad and iphone 6. the ipad is about 4 years old approx. full of downloaded and transferred other CDs and my storage capacity is busiest. How can I send my music to icloud and free up storage on my ipad. My iphone has not been synchronized with ipad. Cannot update my ipad for this reason software also.

    Thank you very much

You can send music in the cloud of a device. You can delete music, and if it's purchased iTunes music you (if it is still in the store and you have not reached the country since purchasing it) may of it redownload purchased in the iTunes Store app tab. Because you own music (for example copied from CD) you'd need have subscribed to Match iTunes on your computer and downloaded the music to her computer, to show him in the cloud.

You have all your music in your computer's iTunes library? Update of the iOS via a computer version should also require less free space on the device (but the update via a computer requires your content in the iTunes library, the update process will take up a back, wipe the iPad and install the iOS update and restore the backup, the backup contains things such as your documents photos, contacts, settings, etc, music, apps, etc. is picked up in the iTunes library)

  • How can I remove my photos from my iPhone while keeping in iCloud? because I'm running out of space on my iPhone.

How can I remove my photos from my iPhone while keeping in iCloud? because I'm running out of space on my iPhone.

I want to keep all my photos in iCloud. I want to remove some of them from my iPhone 4 (IOS 8) in order to free up space on my iPhone. How can I do this? Thanks for help.

With iCloud library enabled, you cannot delete a photo on a device (or iCloud.com) without deleting each device which uses iCloud photo library (iCloud.com). In order to save space on your mobile devices (and indeed your Mac if you want to) turn on the optimization of the pictures on these devices (settings > photos & camera > optimize storage on your mobile device and Photo preferences > optimize storage on your Mac)

Dynamic optimization, it reduces the resolution of your photos, if necessary, so that you don't notice it occurring initially. However, when necessary, it is very effective, and users have reported libraries being optimized for much less than 10% of their original size in some cases. My own library is about 9% of its original on my phone size.
