  Basically, you can, with a cost, and I think that this cost can be more expensive than buying a new computer because you have to take into account:

  • New price of the card, and WHERE you can buy it because the laptop cards are not the same office maps. You can't buy any normal store,
  • Need new card system (can be),
  • Need new system of cooling because in general more powerful card pumps out more heat (you want more powerful card don't you?).
  • May need new power supply because your current diet is not suitbale for the card. (I ordered a machine with the Nvidia card and I need to order a 90W charger at the same time, not the normal charger 65W. They rejected just my order.)
  • Cost of the work.
  • Packages a lot, a lot of aspirin.

Theoretically there are mothers who would suit your laptop with slightly better graphics, but generally of such a motherboard swap is prohibitively expensive and it is not good value for money. The graphics are still not really good, just a little better.

Adding a second 4 GB module would allow the memory dual channel which is maybe 10-15% faster in memory operations.  But do not expect any major improvement.   I don't think that it is possible to change the graphics card in your laptop because it is specifically designed for your model rather than a generic type that is used in a desktop PC.

  However, it should be possible to change the assignment of the RAM up to a maximum of 64 Mb. check in the view "Advanced" available from the control panel settings, or you can also check in your BIOS to a UMA value (16 MB, 32 MB and 64 MB should be supported).
