Can I use a 12.5 mm HDD satellite Pro A10?

Hi all just joined forum

My daughter has a old enough Satellite Pro laptop computer A10m, and it was said that his hard drive is passed, question, I have a spare 20gig 2.5 "IDE / PATA 12.5 mm thickness of hard disk, it will fit. I know normal laptops have a 9.5 mm thick disc, not sure where I got this from, it was just in my trash drawer.

Hello

As far as I know standard 20 GB HARD drive used by Satellite Pro A10 is 9.5 mm but I think you can also use 12.5 mm.
Test it.

  • Can I install a DVD - RW on my Satellite Pro A10 drive?

I want to upgrade the drive of DVD ROM/CD-RW (SD-R2412) on my Satellite Pro A10 on a DVD - RW drive, so I can burn DVDs. I bought a Toshiba (TS-L632) DVDRW drive, because it's exactly the same size and shape, such as the existing DVD ROM drive, the same voltage (5v) and the same connector.

However, after installation and setting on the laptop, it is not recognized as being installed that is to say, there is no sign of it at all on the computer. Is it because the laptop is completely unable to support a DVD - RW disc, or have I bought an incompatible device? If so, is there a compatible DVDRW drive?

    Thanks in advance,
    Fred.

PS the exact model of the Satellite Pro is PSA15E - 0115Q - EN

Since you posted your product key on a public web site, it has now
almost certainly already been copied and used by hackers all over the
world. This means that Microsoft disables this button so it can't be
    more used.

Please, in the future, never publish your key like this.

But leaving that aside for the moment, to answer your question, if
It is a key to the retail sale, Yes, you can use it on another computer. If it's a
    OEM key, no you can't.

  • Satellite Pro A10 HDD

I have the Satellite Pro A10 C2.2GHz/XP Home/256 MB/20 GB/14TFT/DVD/WiFi. One day, the computer just froze and then resets and would not start again, and I kept getting the message:

«PXE - E61: MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE.» PXE - M0F: EXIT INTEL BOOT AGENT. "INSERT SYSTEM DISK IN.

    or

'A DISK READ ERROR OCCURRED '.

I tried some hard disk controllers, but they are unable to get anywhere, because they cannot access the drive. Anyone know of any solution to this, or if not, where would be the best place for replacement because my warranty has run out.

    Any help appreciated,

    Thank you
    Tom

    Hi John,.

Unfortunately, it seems that if your HARD drive has crashed. The message of your BIOS is normally what you see if the PC cannot detect any bootable devices. Usually, it is a bootable HARD drive.

Assuming you have the Toshiba Recovery CD you could try to restore your existing system to your HDD (it will automatically reformat the hard disk first), but you might find although it will simply fail restore due to the failure of the drive.

Your next option is to replace the HARD drive. You can do it yourself very easily, or you may prefer to take the laptop to a Service Agent for them to do. Note that you still need to rebuild your system from the recovery CD according to your choice.

Given that your device has a 20 GB HARD drive standard you could take this opportunity to install a larger capacity drive.

  • Satellite Pro A10 - no answer - enter HDD #0 error

Pro warranty A10, student daughter portable computer reports no longer works, already suspended and finally no response from any other lights at the entrance to DC charger is connected.

Clean fan/radiator, a lot of lint etc. removed. No obvious signs to know why the Board me dead however. Confirmed with counters that this DC of the shipper in me Board. Ordered A replacement me Board, FHZSY1, eBay and equipped, taking the precautions of static, but can not confirm that they were done by the seller.
Now, new Board of Directors recognizes the input DC and recharged the battery OK. Tried to turn on the laptop but terrible mistake INPUT #0. Concluded that the HARD drive had also been damaged. New (Toshiba box) arrived two days later but gave the same error when mounted. BIOS won't recognize HARD at all. Tried all the messages on the verification of the connections and certainly not of mounted riders. Laptop will continue to start from a system CD, as it may then think the new me Board is OK

Are the HARD drive of the Satellite Pro A10 different from those on the A10 satellite earlier?
Any other ideas on this INPUT #0 error?
    Thank you

    Hello

As much as I know there is no different hard disks and your use of the same laptop as most other Toshiba laptops. I can just write that this error is certainly resulting HARD disk problem. The HARD drive is obviously not identified by BIOS correctly.

Sorry but I have no more info on this subject. By the way: is the motherboard new or used one?

  • Can not start my Satellite Pro A10

I have a Toshiba laptop Satellite Pro A10. When he tries to start windows, it comes up with the "We apologize for the inconvenience, but windows did not start successfully" etc. I tried all the options for example

    Start:
    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt
    Last known good configuration
    etc.

None of the options works. All I get is a flow of information about drivers and it then hangs. The last driver in the list is:

    multi (0) disk (0) partition (1) \WINDOWS\System32\Drive rs\Mup.sys

    I can't clear the checkpoint.

Unfortunately, I can't find the disc that came with the laptop, so I'm well and truly stuck.

    Any suggestions?

    See you soon

    HI Leon,

It is quite normal that there is a list of drivers displayed when you try to boot into 'safe' mode However, if initialization fails, obviously there is a problem with your operating system and your only options are to try to fix the problem by using the recovery console (you will need to boot from a CD of original Microsoft installation), or you can restore the original Toshiba CD recovery full operating system.
A third possibility would be to start with a utility such as Norton Ghost or Acronis image backup/restore and restore a backup previously taken by an external device.

The simplest option is to restore from a backup that is already taken, but if you don't then you would be better restore from the recovery CD Toshiba you can get at any Toshiba authorized Service partner.

    Kind regards

    Hello

As far as I know that the Sat Pro A10 has been delivered with 3 different drives - 20 GB, 30 GB, 40 GB.
In my opinion the 40 GB is a maximum size of HARD drive support. It is possible that the BIOS could not acknowledge more large drives.

  • Can I use 2 hard drives on the Satellite A200-1YX

Hello, who knows if it can work 2 hard drives on the A200 1YX.
In the manual is written there are 2 locations for hard drives, but it says that for some models of Satellite A200.

Can I use 2 HDD on Satellite A200-1YX?

As mentioned by user above, different Satellite A200 series are present on the market.
Some supports 2 hard drives and some as a single HARD drive.

But both series are equipped with a second Bay I recommend you simply remove the cover plastic that holds the second HARD drive Bay and check if the HARD drive connectors are available.

    Good bye

  • Can I use my CD of restoration for Satellite A50 for den my WXP?

    Dear Sir/Madam

I am a student and I have a laptop Toshiba A50. I have a problem of system in my computer. When I was running a program of solvent advertising the computer got stuck, and when I tried to restart the computer, the computer starts up and goes to the window welcome screen (windows xp) and then the computer screen becomes white (or black).

When I restarted my computer, it goes to screen option where he gives, safe mode, last good configuration mode, etc... I tried to start in safe mode and last good configuration mode, but nothing happened, the black screen appears after the Windows Welcome screen.
My advice to a friend to get a windows XP repair. I have the product recovery CD Toshiba, which I got when I bought the laptop. My question is what can I do a repair of Windows xp from this CD?

I started my computer on this product recovery CD. He gave me 3 opt as below

1 recover the entire hard disk
WARNING-all store data on your computer will be lost. Preinstalled software Factory will be installed.

    2 Recovery expert
WARNING: this is for pc experts only. Preinstalled software Factory can be installed on an existing partition (bootable).

    Exit 3

I need to recover all my files from my hard drive. That is my main concern.
While you think I can do a repair of Windows xp from this product recovery CD?

    Thank you
    Robert

    Hi Robert,.

No you can not use the recovery CD to repair your Windows installation. The recovery CD can be used only to completely restore your operating system to its original condition when you got first it.

If you want to use the Windows Recovery console, then you will need to obtain a genuine Microsoft installation CD.

If your laptop only has one partition (drive c :)) and then using the recovery CD is actually reformat your hard drive and overwrite all of your own data and files.

    Kind regards
