  Hi guys, we have configured an ACS 5.1 and integrated with active directory Win2K3, we created two AD groups to manage devices network for administrators and one for operators (read-only), so we have configured a device admin strategy and the two groups work very well, but now we are facing a little problem any user that exists in the AD can connect (user exec mode) network devices and we want to cancel the connection with politics, but we do not know how.

  Yes, you can change that, it's a profile of shell by default. You must create a new one with privilege level "not in use" and select the new profile of the shell (no Directors or Operartors) under Default Device Admin > authorization profile > edit and make changes.

• LDAP (Active Directory) questioning 'current user '.

  I went through a lot of things on it, but I would appreciate a response summary of this (probably...) FAQ:

  Using CF (latest and greatest) on a (I presume) IIS server, I want to be able to automatically detect the Windows identity of "the currently logged in Windows user" and through queries LDAP (Active Directory), determine its attributes and the membership authentication purposes.  The user would not be questioned to get into any sort of username or password on his.  (This is strictly an intranet application and always will be).

  In the Apache mod_ldapserver environment, I know that reliable information about the currently logged-in user can come from environment variables to make the following LDAP queries.  But I'm a little fuzzy on what I might expect/use in this situation.

  Pointers?  Hyperlinks?  Advice?

  With Windows IIS on a Windows Server in a Windows domain to a Windows client using a Windows browser it can be done easily.

  If "Windows integrated security" is selected in the IIS administrator and "Logon Anymous" is NOT checked, then the variable cgi.auth_user will be poplulate by the web server with the domain/user name of the user logged on to the client computer.

  It's pretty simple to access this cgi.auth_user value and use it in a tag to read the record of the current directory for more information about this user.

• Administrator rights to the ACS using Active Directory groups

  We must be able to use administrative accounts for our device ACS who reside in an Active Directory group, if possible.  If this is not possible, what other safer options would we be able to use (RADIUS authentication or authentication RSA 2)?

  You need a username to be present in your Active Directory DN of Base that will be used as the BISystemUser. You will need to create this user in AD or use an existing AD user and then specify its letters of nobility in Enterprise Manager (expand Weblogic domain > bifoundation_domain (right click) > Security > Credentials). You need to set the system.user under oracle.bi.system card credentials. Make sure your ad password never expires or you will encounter problems in a few weeks!

• I want to change the location of Firefox 3.6.8 profiles so that the same profile can be used by different Win XP user accounts.

  I changed the storage location of the profiles for versions of Firefox prior to version 3.6.8 on other computers by changing profiles.ini to point to the modified location, using the same file successfully profiles.ini for different user accounts. When I upgraded to 3.6.8 on this machine dual-booting Win Xp and Win 7, modified profiles storage location has been maintained so that all users in the two operating systems use the same profile (and the same version of Firefox). I tried to use what I think, it's the same procedure in another Win XP machine, but when I try to open Firefox 3.6.8 installed on this computer, I get a message saying that Firefox is already running and I have to close to go forward.

  Please explain how I can get this to work.

  You define the location of the profile profiles.ini file for XP and Windows 7 point to that same folder.
  
  Easier to accomplish this is to create a new profile and choose the location of this profile to point to the profile folder.

  It's "preferences > Extensions '-disable support for versioning here. Again, I recommend to record over existing design - existing directories will be deleted including svn directories. It is more prudent to save content in another directory and copy it to the directory versioned; also the files that have a longer date should be removed from files versioned.

Now, we have planned to implement the concept of area here. According to me, once we implement the domain objects (users) will create in MS itself. My doubt is that will happen to my staff profile in all the client machines. Should I remove this personal account before you add this computer to the domain? Or it may be exist without any probs?

  I have a task of personalized process that puts into service a right to the user and notifies the credentials of the user to the Manager.

  These tasks are conditional and configured to be triggered only when Create User returns the response as a SUCCESS code.

  The more bizarre behavior, these process tasks are triggered before (update of the value of the UID in the form of process OR before the response code defines SUCCESS) AND after (the user is created in AD).

  Anyone seen this?

  Try to set the task of the user to create a previous task for each of the other ones that must run first.  You can also add additional tasks that must be completed first too.

  Has anyone tried to use active directory to authenticate users on an ESX 4 box? Is this possible? I know that most linux operating systems offer a way to integrate into Active directory using some extensions and the ldap service. ESX 4 has this feature?

  about using esxcfg-auth to set on ESX. I recently configured our host ESX 4 auth against Kerberos using my instructions 3.x and it works very well. Don't see why AD won't be the same, good luck

• Open migration to Active Directory directory Windows vs Mac

  OK, so I help my old school to their IT needs, because they do not have a person hired for this role.

  Currently, they have a center where the staff use computers based on Windows 10 10 (systems of Core 2 Duo, especially assembled; all about 3 years) connected to a Windows 2008 Server (from Dell; about a year).
