  I guess you would be able to exchange the keyboard but I would not recommend doing so. Why? Because you will lose the warranty.

  These replacements should be made by an authorized service provider available in your country (if possible).

  The keyboard on my Satellite C660-108 is very slow in response. Some characters are not at all, some only after a short delay.   What you can do is to check official page Toshiba Poland and check which models will be available in your country. I believe in the future Toshiba will offer models more and more and I can't imagine that u500 with backlit keyboard will be available in the future.
