Can it be made possible for Windows 8 undo changes made to the system to a date without go as far as to factory settings?

My problem is what happened after that I accepted an update yesterday on the Samsung "Keis' program already downloaded on my computer in order to transfer pictures from my Samsung mobile PAYG on my computer.  However, many no longer works, it has left my phone Samsung Galaxy Ace corrupt!  So, my question is, in an attempt to salvage something from the situation, is it possible to go back to the previous update, perhaps through Windows, but do not go as far as factory settings?  If this is not possible at the moment, would be - this something that Windows 8 could make possible in the future?

Instructions Samsung "Keis' originally downloaded on my computer using Windows 8 to allow the transfer of photos from a mobile phone to the computer via a USB cable.  Apart from a few points of friction, he mainly worked initially.  But, before that I tried to download a Update new pictures yesterday, marked up waiting to download, that I accepted without question before continuing, as it was on the official website.

Whenever the connection on the phone is on my computer & USB connection on my laptop, my phone hangs, signals a message that the SD memory card is missing and turns black.  The screen only comes from back when the lead is disconnected and later, whenever I check my photo gallery to see if OK, I find pictures at random times and scrambled and is no longer able to put in order of date.  And each attempt, the multiplication rises while after 3 attempts, I find the number of photos now 171 of 61 or more.  It's as if the copy is not so much on the computer, but being bounced on the phone!

Worse still, to try the less easy way of removing the memory card minute to a direct investment in the computer, it would not allow the withdrawal without a warning message to wipe out memory, if I did!  Try to send an email with the photos as attachments, has not worked either, as the frozen screen.  I also discovered that an application that worked before (either said passing on earthquakes), recognizes none!

I have Samsung were advised to try to take out the battery, but did not have a difference when back and are still waiting to hear their technical staff to see where I'm going from here.  But, if I can't solve this problem, I stand to lose all the photos of my 'new '.  In the meantime, I managed to copy photos 'old' on Sky Drive computer, in which case I have to uninstall the program.  Unfortunately, one or two not copied remains, as Sky Drive seem to treat during the copying of entire folders and not individual photos to the breast.  Didn't know what title to put this sub, but thanking someone at - it ideas to help me in this incredible situation.

For later use, you can do 'image' copies of backup of your computer - a snapshot in time.  If you have to return back is not in box 1.  There are probably several choices of software, I have one by acronis: True Image

    You can install Windows 7 with your recovery discs and then upgrade to Windows 10 or you can create a Windows [USB/DVD/ISO] 10 installation media and use it to make a 'clean' on the new hard drive installation.

    I do not know if I understand your question completely, but let me answer what I think that you have requested.

    The Windows System Restore will restore your Windows settings (drivers, registry, etc.) to a previous state (note it does not affect your user data).

    Smart restore or a system restore that is started before Windows starts, usually accessible from disk or a boot partition, an OEM recovery option.  It will usually restore your PC to factory without saving the data, depending on the OEM recovery options.  For assistance with this type of option recovery\restore, you will need to check with the manufacturer of PC.
