Can it to cache HARD RAID drive in a system with a SSD tip?

I have a (relatively) small boot SSD and a wide range of RAID based on the standard HARD drive.  Can I use the ReadyCache to cache RAID volumes only and leave the single SSD volume?

Thank you!

No, readycache only works with the system drive that is the drive where the operating system is installed. He will work with RAID volumes but only if the RAID volume is the system drive. This is not recommended for computers that already use an SSD as drive system.

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-

If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

  • Replace the hard drive of 500 GB with 256GB SSD in spectrum XT Touchsmart

I tried to replace the HARD drive of 500 GB with 256 GB Samsung SSD and then began to install it using the external DVD drive, but during installation without disk hard were found. What I have to disable certain BIOS settings or I need to install the SSD in a separate location. Any kind of help is greatly appreciated.

Yupp, I could install an SSD. You need to install the drivers for RAID Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) driver (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&ProdId=2101&DwnldID=22194&ProductFamily=Software+Products&ProductLine=Chipset+Software&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Rapid+Storage+Technology+ (Intel % C2% AE + RST) & lang = fre) during the installation of Windows 8. I extracted the drivers for USB and everything by choosing which device to install windows 8 installed drivers.

After that, the SSD has been detected and the simple installation procedure. I pasted the link for the driver, don't know whether or not it will get removed. In case it is removed just search driver RAID Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST).

  • Installation of Windows 7 can't find my hard/Patition drive where XP is installed

My nephew is trying to run the windows 7 installation of Windows XP and and after having chosen the option (Advanced) Cutom & as it gets to the screen where it asks you to choose where to install windows 7 it says "no HDD found" found in the dialog box, and there are no partitions to the choice.

It gives him an option to load a driver to install a hard drive, but that doesn't seem the way forward, how do we get setup find hard drive?

We need to create a new partition if it gives this option?

    Hi BrianRinSD,

Unfortunately, a CD-ROM on its own will not play a DVD you need a DVD - ROM drive.

Your DVD-ROM USB should be able to work "If" you have the ability to boot from a USB key. You will need to check the manual of your PC to see if this option is available, it means that you have to press F2 or something similar to starting up usually get a boot menu. By the way, this is not the same as pressing F8 to enter safe mode.

My apologies for the delay in responding but I'm in the United Kingdom, where the time difference. It is currently 01:00 here.

  • Cannot set the password for hard drive on the W530 with Intel SSD 520

    Hello

I have a w530 with an Intel SSD 520 in primary hard drive Bay. Whenever I try to set a password for the primary hard drive, it doesn't stick. If I chose master + user or simply user, I will enter the password, it will take the passwords without producing an error and then just dump back me to the screen of passwords while leaving the disabled hard drive password.

BIOS is on the latest version for the w530 and SSD, the machine seems fairly normally operate differently.

Does anyone have ideas how I can activate the password? Thank you!

    Hi, ctenorman

I did some research and came across this thread of Intel. There are a few people in the thread who were able to set the password on this particular drive. It seems that changing the BIOS "SATA" compatibility mode, set the password, restart, and then change it to "AHCI" worked for some, but not all customers with this player.

Good luck and let me know how it goes

  • Can I return my computer to this original operating system with a disk. Was Windows 98, XP Home Edition

I bought a HP Pavilion6355 Top Desk of a former employee and it runs Windows XP Home Edition.

I found that these computers were originally under Windows 98.

My question: can I go back to the original operating system without disk.

Nothing I tried to perform a destructive restore worked, thinking that this is because the o/s has been upgraded.

    Need your help.

    Thanks in advance

Outside of why you would like to go back to Win 98, it's probably not possible without getting a CD.

You don't say how you attempted a "destructive recovery".  As far as I KNOW, performing a "destructive recovery" on the HP PC of this vintage required a set of recovery CDs HP.  See http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=bph07141&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&jumpid=reg_r1002_usen&lc=en&product=59328

As far as I know, HP no longer provides these CDs.

IIRC, the practice to have a hidden partition on the hard drive that could be used to restore a computer provided that "cost-of-the-factory" did not start up Windows XP.  Although there used to be such a partition, it is likely than anyone to install Windows XP removed as part of the upgrade process.

There is always the FleaBay, Amazonand similar sites.  Do not get a 'upgrade' version unless you have an old Win 95 CD lying around.

  • Qosmio G30 - Setup can't find any HARD drive

I can't change windows MSE for vista on my G30 set up can not find any hard disk installed on it, but with toshiba drive reanimator it works! can anyone help?

If I understand you right you use a disc of Microsoft to install Vista.

Have you heard of driver SATA? You will need this driver otherwise that your HARD drive will not be recognized.
Download drivers (as far as I know the Intel Storage Manager) and load it after booting from the CD or use you nLite.

In the forum are already a lot of thread on this Yes please read a little.

  • Windows 7 can't detect the TOSHIBA Portege M400 RAID driver

I put to level my M400 tablet from Windows XP to Windows 7.

Questions of compatibility check out, all right. In research I realized I needed to upgrade the RAID driver to a version of Win7. So I downloaded which, from my external hard drive to install to Win7, and installing Win7 can't find it. I tried the same thing with a variant of Vista with no luck. Even through the installation on the hard drive itself, nothing happened. Impossible to get in the tio silent run command prompt, absolutely nothing. I'm back where I throw this computer out of my 4th story window.

    Any help please?

    Hello

Where did you download the RAID driver?
Please try to download the RAID driver on the Toshiba site directly. These drivers are pre-tested and should work on your laptop too.

The older Portege M400 taken Windows 7 isn't supported so in the worst case, you can t use it.
But normally the drivers should work on Vista so make sure you are using the correct driver.

  • Update 24GB flash Cache hard drive for some other SSD acceleration

    Hello Experts,

    I plan to buy-

HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

    -With

    • 1 TB 5400 RPM hard drive
    • 24GB flash acceleration Cache hard drive

What can I upgrade (/replace) 24GB flash Cache acceleration of the drive with some other SSD whose greater storage size on the line after a few days? for example 240GB Crucial SSD?

    Thank you.

It's different. Any other animal. It looks like a wireless card. See below. What you could do with a standard 2.5-inch SSD is to replace the original main drive. If you could total of 240 concerts that would be OK. You will need to remove the disc from mSATA (aka WSSD) as it is useless in a WSSD Accelerator reader when you have a main SSD drive. I guess that I encourage you to wait and see how you like the stock configuration. The WSSD throttle control is very effective and can make even a 5400 RPM hard drive mechanics work almost as fast as an SSD.
