"I get this message when I try to burn the disc," there is not enough space in the folder, or you don't have permission to save files to the folder. 'Free space on your hard drive' I thought I erased the space on my hard drive. What should I do now?

How can I burn a movie to a blank dvd when the movie to burn is greater than the amount of space on the blank dvd?
How can I burn a movie to a blank dvd when the movie to burn is greater than the amount of space on the blank dvd?
You could import the movie into Windows Movie Maker, use the 'split' option, split the video to 2 or more smaller movie files, then burn each smaller movie file to separate DVDs.
This would be my method. There may be a better way.

I have Vista Home Premium but I do not have Microsoft Movie Maker HD.
Vista Home Premium is supposed to come with the version HD of Microsoft Movie Maker, but rather my installation (which came with my HP PC when I bought it) has only the ordinary Microsoft Movie Maker.
What can I do to get the HD version?

For your information, Windows Movie Maker 2.6 is just a "water-down" version designed for computers cannot run the built-in Windows Movie maker 6.0
Windows Movie maker 6.0 comes with Vista.
2.6 MM Windows does not come with Vista. It is not a 'new' program. It is a compromise version.
Excerpt from http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=34
OverviewMovie Maker 2.6 is for Windows Vista users whose computer cannot run the Vista's Movie Maker version.
To test whether your computer can run Vista's Movie Maker version:
1. on the start menu, click all programs.
2. click on Windows Movie Maker. If Movie Maker starts, you must not download version 2.6.
If you get an error message that says: "Windows Movie Maker cannot start because your video card does not support the required level of hardware acceleration or hardware acceleration is not available", download and install Movie Maker 2.6.
.............................................................................................................................................
Windows Live Movie Maker is better, contrary to what you feel. Maybe, you're just not used to it?
How can you install version 2.6? Go to the net.
If you like Windows Movie Maker 6.0 so, here's a tutorial to install it in Windows 7 computers.

You may not have the right codecs installed for the type of video file that you are manipulating? One option is to search for and install a code pack, such as the k - lite codec pack.
