Can not connect. Try to change the password, but it does not appear in email

Just try to connect to Thunderbird. It does'nt recognize my login or password. I'm trying to change, Thunderbird said he sent a new to my email. Go to my email and it's not there. What I want ultimately to do is to find a tutorial on how to use my newly installed pgp program. I need something simple that I c a write down and follow so I don't make a mistake. I'm NOT "computer" somehow. EVERYTHING is a struggle for me, so having a "cheat sheet" pgp Protocol is the only way I can think to commit it to memory. Sorry for the long message, do not know another way to get my message across. Thank you, Charles

You're not in computer science is a little obvious, so forgive me if this comes harder.

Requesting password resets. If Mozilla, reset you your password for this site most likely like Thunderbird has no password. Or Thunderbird issue passwords or e-mail accounts. Your email provider, however, provide passwords to your e-mail accounts. Can you implement your existing email accounts in Thunderbird and get them to send and receive mail? Without any reference to PGP.

PGP I suppose is the add-on of enigmail for Thunderbird, which is supported by https://www.enigmail.net/support/ although you will struggle more than a little with it, I think. If you have the WebPg for Mozilla it is supported by https://webpg.org/ here
