Have you looked into disk management to see if it is connected, but not given a drive letter?

  1. Open Computer Management by clicking on the button start , clicking Control Panel, clicking system and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools and then double-click computer management. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. In the Navigation pane, under storage, click Disk Management.

  • XPS M1330 can not find network card after reinstalling Windows Vista

    Hi all

I'm passing my computer to a member of his family and wanted to give them a new installation, so I used the disc of Windows Vista (32-bit SP1) shipped with the laptop and reinstalled Vista on the computer. Everything worked fine until I wanted to connect to the internet, then Windows tells that there are no available networks. When I chose "Why doesn't windows find all networks" he stated that "this computer doesn't have a wireless network installed and configured card". I put in the Dell driver and Utilities CD that shipped with the computer and installed the drivers which seemed related to networking or communications, but the problem persists. I guess it's some sort of driver problem (as the computer used wireless before the reformat (a few hours ago) and so the device itself seems to work.)

I would greatly appreciate any help to get this race. :)

    Thank you!

    Hi Chris,

Please share the system model and the operating system installed on your computer?

If you are facing problems with the wireless, you can follow the steps below to check if the drivers are listed as installed in the Device Manager:

    • Press 'Windows' + 'R' key on keyboard.
    • Type "devmgmt.msc" into the box run without quotes.
    • In the Device Manager window, expand network adapters and verify if your wireless card is on the list.

If the wireless driver is not present in the system and is displayed as a network controller in the section other devices with a yellow question mark, you can download the drivers from the link: -> Enter-> the serial number of your system, select the operating system-> expand the category network to download/install wireless drivers

I hope this helps. Please respond to the findings.

  • I can not open hotmail attachments (updated Automatic Windows Vista, IE8, activated and updated running).

I have a new HP computer and I can not open hotmail attachments (updated Automatic Windows Vista, IE8, activated and updated running).  When you try to open an attachment, the bar downstairs quickly moves to the right, but never appears a dialog box asking if you want to open or save the file.  Error message I get when I try to resolve it with the suggested steps indicates "module"wintrust.dll"was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005.  I tried to do the same command prompt, but still not received the same error.  Thanks for help anything.

    Hi Paul,.

Have you tried to download an attachment after you turn off your antivirus?
I had a problem in the past where the system was performed at Trend Micro Internet Security and Web content filtering (I think that's what it was called) was preventing attachments from download.
I would like to know what are your results!

I installed Windows 8 Pro on my machine (Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 1 GB 6850 Radeon Toxic, 1 TB HDD)... I'm happy to use it except for one of the major problems that is search.

I can't find the files on my HARD drive! Applications, the settings option does not appear under the search option in the charming bar. In Windows Explorer, there is no search option. If I go into the right corner and go to the research, I can get just the weather, bing, store, music, video, finance. There is no search option, settings app that appears in other windows machines 8. Also, there is no search bar in Explorer window next to the address bar.

How can I get Windows 8 to my files them, applications and search parameters and also get the search box in Windows Explorer?

Yes. I contacted support and counsel really ruin my station with some rookie mistakes very until he was found. Basically, the solution was to re - install the search options in Windows by going to programs and features / turn on or off windows features. Once he did that options appeared in the search. But not before he has installed antivirus software freeware to scan my stations for viruses that took its logmein software that it has been detected as a threat how it decided to call my house at 02:00 once he realized that he was disconnected by its own hurt... I downloaded a third party application in windows 7. I did change the location on the save location. Now I don't see the application and some newspapers for the application files. Is there an equal path from Windows Vista (C:\users\\Local) to Windows 7?

    Hi xoxo.ciao,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

When you download files, Windows usually saves them in the Downloads folder which is located under your user name in the users disk folder
where Windows is installed (for example your namepersonal C:\users\). When you save the file, you can choose to save it in a different folder.
By default, some file types are saved in different folders.

A search with the name of the program you downloaded.

Search a file that you have downloaded:
