  Make sure you have Windows Defender active:

  1. Open Windows Defender by clicking on the button start , clicking all programs, and then click Windows Defender.

  2. Click on tools and then click Options.

  3. Under the administrator options, select or clear the check box use Windows Defender and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

     Do you have any other type of antivirus installed on your computer? What other security products are installed on your host computer (anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spam, firewall, etc.)?
     These can interfere and stop Windows Defender from work. I would try and disable the other product temporarily and see if Windows Defender starts.

     When you enter the Services (services.msc), the Windows Defender service applet is listed for the automatic start mode? This is shown as disabled, then it never starts.
     If it is shown as currently stopped (with automatic or manual startup mode), can manually start you it?

     You have errors where the viewer in the application log dealing with Windows defender? If so, then that can give you a clue as to what is perhaps the problem.

     If please reply back and let us know the results of your tests.

• Can not get to work in Win7 homegroup sharing

  I had a residential group set up between 2 Win7 (profesional) PC

  For "unknown reasons" it suddenly stopped working.

  So I created a new group of House

  BUT now... It does not work in one direction

  PC - A user can not access files shared on PC - B

  User on PC - B can access shared files on PC - A

  The residential group defined parameters are the two same PC... checked and double-checked.

  The only difference I can find is in sharing:

  on PC - B IE. on the PC that cannot be accessed

  only the advanced sharing is available

  -While on PC - A, the [part...] button, which here is grayed out, is available and the network sharing of files and folders can be set up.

  HOW can I make the button [part...] available?

  (NB: this is the same for all the folders I want to share - not only the following)

  ALSO is this the cause of the problem - or just another problem?

  so here is the question... you do not get a password business unless you are on a BES plan, it is for professional use... for personal use, you would use BIS (blackberry internet service)... to do this, you need a data plan activated BIS, chances are, your data plan is not for Blackberry use...
  I would give Vodafone a call and check your tariff plan.
  Once you have a plan active BIS, will allow you to have another option other than of the company e-mail configuration.

  I use a WRT54G Router I've had for almost two years.  It has the original firmware (v1.00.6, January 20, 2006) and worked perfectly, since I installed it.  Both of my two children (18 +) have NOW laptops, which they keep in their room, and I have problems with them staying up for most of the night on facebook or myspace, when they have to sleep.  I tried to just disable internet from 12:30 to 07:30 with access restrictions, but can't make it work little matter what I do.

  Hi, I have problems to make my r7000 working with plusnets iptv... Recently signed to it and they sent me their shitty router that feeds their iptv perfectly but I can't figure out how to get the nighthawk for this...

  Current firmware 1.0.4.30. in advanced settings, there is an option allowing to the VLAN / bridge I had some success using: iptv works for a bit, but not internet traffic outside of iptv is passed to the youview box - so can't watch netflix etc. It stops also work after I have change the channel so it does not seem in any case the right fix

  PlusNet cannot provide me details for tag vlan, so don't know not where to go from there... every time I have activate the Internet is not just connect - tried VLAN 10, 101, 301 and the thing that I could think of...

  I read that there is an option to enable the VLAN / IPTV on some firmwares, but I don't see "enable VLAN / Bridge" on mine.
  This feature is still supported on the R7000? or would be running DD - WRT work?

  And we have a solution! Flashed the CFW, a quick reboot of the router, and a bit of higgery pokery - work with enabled IPTV YouView.

  Here's a note in case others run into this forum and fall into the same obstacle. These are the settings you need once you have flashed the CFW:

  You must configure 'Enable VPN + connection DHCP' to 'No' to the terms of the WAN option.

  Parameters used were:

  -Have the router to the latest firmware: 3.0.0.4.374.130

  -Use the following settings in the LAN > IPTV:

  -"Select the ISP profile" = None

  'Choose the Port STB IPTV' = None

  -"Use DHCP routes" = Microsoft

  -"Enable routing multicast (IGMP Proxy) = enable".

  'Enable the effective transfer of multicast (IGMP Snooping) = enable ".

  -' UDB Proxy (Udpxy) = 0

  I hope this proves use for others in the future and thank you for all your help.

• Newbie #2 - got AnyConnect works, can not get to work computers

  This simple solution is beyond me!

  I got work AnyConnect successfully and I can get a VPN connection to my public static IP (69.x.x.x). I can ping devices on my home network (10.x.x.x) and surf the Internet from my PC at home, but I can't ping any computer on my work network (192.x.x.x).

  I added a NAT exemption rule (please see attached screenshot of the NAT exemption rule) and I entered the command management-access to the Interior of the ASDM, but I still cannot ping any computer work.

  Just to make sure the connections/ICMP traffic works in what concerns the firewall settings.

  Make sure you have ICMP inspect enabled on your firewall.

  My firewall is the newest software, so I'm not 100% sure if the menus/options are named in the sameway about your ASDM software.

  Try to navigate in the following sections

  • Configuration (in the top bar of the WHPA)
  • Firewall (in the lower left button)
  • Policy rules (in the lefhand side with which is visible after the choice of the previous section "Firewall)
  • There should be something called "inspection_default" in the main window
    • Click to select
    • above, it is the "Edit" button, click it
    • In the opening window, go to "Rule Actions.
    • Check the box in the section "ICMP" and then apply the configurations

  To re-create the Photoshop preferences files, start the application while pressing Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or command + Option + shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, "Delete the Adobe Photoshop settings file?"

  Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you are using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and try again.

  Important: If you re-create the preferences by removing the Adobe Photoshop CS6 settings file, make sure that you only delete this file. If you remove all of the settings folder, you also delete unsaved actions or presets.

  Reinstallation of Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before you reinstall Photoshop, re-create your preferences.

  Yes, you are looking in the correct place ("Inspector" is the official term - it is confusing because it is not at the top of the Panel).

  The reason why you don't see it is because you are using a new motion tween. Sorry, I thought you were in a classic tween, but then I realized it was someone else (they should seek scale option!)

  To resolve, all you need to do is move the playhead on the location of the span where you want the ladder at the end, and it fits. No keyframes required.
