  I followed the procedure in the Audacity forum:

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8

  1. Right-click on the icon "by the system clock" speaker, and choose recording devices to open the recording of "Sound" tab
  2. Right-click anywhere inside the recording tab and choose "Show disabled devices" then right-click again and choose "show disconnected devices".
  3. Right-click specifically over the input device you want to record with (in this case 'Stereo Mix' or whatever the solution you have) and if it is visible, choose 'Activate'.
  4. It is sometimes useful to right click on the "stereo mix" or similar device again and choose "set as default device".

  Even so, I wasn't able to save.
  Then I click with the button straight on the "speaker" icon and click on Volume Control Options, and found that the box near the speaker has not been verified.  Once I checked it, I could sound speaker recording on Audacity.
  If you find that the sounds of the microphone are also being recorded, you must click with the right button on the microphone in the recording devices and disable.

I was sitting here with a full battery when I started and now it is dead... and I still don't have FireFox on my ChromeBook.

  I had a peek in this and was informed that Firefox does not work on Chrome OS.

  It is designed and done a little differently from the likes of Windows and Linux and will not support another browser being installed.

  If a password is required to log on your system, then you won't be able to cirumvent it. Unfortunately the users of this forum are also not allowed to suggest ways to help you bypass (hack) the password (3668Microsoft Terms and Conditions).

  Remember passwords are case sensitive so maybe that you type a password in the case of bad? Did you create a password recovery disk when you created your password first? If Yes, then you must insert the password recovery disk to allow you to change the current password. If you did not create a password recovery disk then the next and more radical, opion is to re - install Windows.

• HP: microsoft programs do not work since the update to windows 8.1

  Since the update to windows 8.1, I was unable to access any Microsoft programs that I downloaded from the Microsoft store. I can enter the store to download games but once they are downloaded, and I click on it to open they will be just sweep upward from the taskbar and then continue straight down to the bar once again for the tasks.  I can access Microsft Word, excel, powerpoint, etc that I have purchased and downloaded from the internet.  The games through Microsoft store does not work once uploaded any ideas on how to fix it?

  You wrote that Vista has been installed when you get it. Maybe the sound was only cut, so you can use the FN + ESC key combination.
  Try to also load default settings in the BIOS and test it with external speakers, please.

  Hi Gregg, signatures do not affect functionality. Firefox heading demanding signatures as a filter on the extensions of software malware-ish. Who will start in a future version, for now, it's just a warning that you will see during the installation or on the page modules.

  I heard about 5.5 on Windows 10.

  The first thing I would check is that Windows and hearing are "accepting" on the audio interface (and pilots) to use and also things like rates and few sample depth.  We had a poster with CS6 yesterday who had a similar problem and going through and manually configure the interface card / audio itself sorted.  The upgrade to win 10 to reset everything, probably for video playback, at the expense of the audio recording.

  Your do not mention that you use as a sound card, so I can't be precise in what to do, but the first thing I would do is go to Windows Audio Control Panel and make sure that any sound card that you want to use is visible and selected by default for the recording and playback...  While in the audio control, also access advanced settings (recording and playback and make sure that the depth of rate and little run the settings you want.)

  If you have a card with its own software external sound, go there and set it up to match Windows.

  Finally, go to Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware and make sure that the right device is set for recording and playback on the drop down menus.  Also, make sure that the "device class" is set to the right kind of driver for the audio interface you.  This will probably be Ms for an integrated sound card or to an external ASIO - but you'll have to work it yourself.  Apply all these changes, so I hope that things work out.

  If this is not the case, let us know the details of your system and the audio interface and maybe we can come up with other ideas.
