Can not install KB2676562 and KB2679255 keep receiveing an error code 80070020

There was a series of updates released in May.  I finally got most of them to installed yesterday after installing all one by one.  Now I have failed to install 2 pertaining to KB2676562 and KB2679255.  I get the error code 80070020 on two of them.  I have Vista Home Premium SP2 32 bit OS.  I run the trend and Malwarebytes.  When I look up error code it tells me to make one of the two restarts) 1 start Windows Update in safe mode or 2) start Windows Update with a clean reboot of Windows.  Neither of these 2 options works and I'll add that the start in Safe Mode option requires you to "Click on the safe boot check box, click Network and then click OK."  I don't know why, but I cannot check this box sound as if it is grayed out.  I am the owner of this PC so I think I should be able to check that box and can not.  Someone at - it any other suggestions for me, please help if you can I'm so frustrated with this.
