  To my knowledge there is not anyway, unless start you numbering at 500 the number. It is an option in the export dialog window.

  There is an option called public links that allows you to do. Select your article and click on share. This throws a pop up dialog box. On the left side of the dialog box, you can have 3 options - members, links, public links. If links Public option no there is not, then your service administrator has rejected their use. Links Public option is controversial in the enterprise space. Initial offering of DropBox didn't hesitate to the provision of the public links because the content was guaranteed to be owned by the user to dropbox.   If you see the Public links option, click it and the right side of the pop-up dialog box will change. You can specify:

  • Link the Date of expiry - date after which the link does not work
  • Access - code an access code which you may disclose to the recipient expected by other means of your choice. This access code guarantees security on a link that could otherwise be used by anyone

  You can create several public links to the same article, and each of them may have the settings above, then you might have a link to downloaders and a separate link for contributors, for example. Each link can then be sent, either by copy/paste via the email button to the right of the link. You can also change the link using the pencil icon, so you it unexpire or reset the expiration date. You can also remove a link by using the trash beside him.

  384 MB is nowadays is no longer considered to be a file of "big."

  You don't mention how much space is actually available on the Synology but for arguments sake, we will assume that more than 60 GB of space is available.

  So in theory it should be possible to create a disk image of 60 GB (no doubt), there is enough space available. As you say there is no set of storage quotas and I'm happy to believe that. I think that the issue could be more to do with the maximum allowed size of the file, remember that I mentioned that 384 is actually not much, although some systems have a limit of 4 GB for a single file, for example FAT32 file systems have such a limit. In theory the FAT32 limit should not apply here because almost all including Synology NAS servers actually use Linux as the underlying software and so use Ext3 or Ext4 as file system, not FAT32. Same Ext2 a fortiori Ext3 or Ext4 allowing individuals will produce up to 2 TB of size which is clearly much larger than 60 GB.

  Still it could be related to that question even if it is necessary as an unnecessary and artificial limit may be for example to ensure compatible with other systems using FAT32.

  If you have enough space on the Mac, you could create and try to copy on the Synology, however another approach which is probably better all around is to create a "sparsebundle disk image. It's a disc image, but another type and will work around this problem because it is in fact made up of lots of all small files attached together. As that user do you see this as image a big drive, but the computer sees it as a folder full of files much smaller.

  I bought a surface as, among other things, a replacement for hanging out massive textbooks. I often buy books (mainly from Microsoft Press ironically) which are huge, hard and strong, the saving grace is that each book comes with a CD-Rom containing, among other things, a PDF version of the book... IDEAL!
  the problem is, these manuals are 100's of pages long and I would be able to 'jump to page x' to return to something, I would also be able to highlight a field or bookmark for a quick look at "return to this subject later" or "do these exercises when I go home." It would also be good to put a bookmark on the page I read last. Currently, I have a .txt file where I write the page number and no goodbye, isn't a very slippery solution, or the adobe reader app from the built-in Player app includes a "jump to page xx" so I scroll 200 + pages just to find "my place" everytime I open my book.

  Once you have installed the software,

  I see by your post that you replace the drive hard and now the printer on the desktop icon, shows all options. I can help you with this.

  Temporarily disable the Antivirus to see if it is causing any interference.

  Try the shortcut.

  It might be the shortcut at the origin of this problem.

  Try to go to start, all programs, HP, Officejet 8600, 8600 Officejet.

  It should open the printer Assistant software. See if the options are now available.

  If scanning a Document or Photo is still not listed, you will need to uninstall and reinstall the software.

  The software would have gotten corrupted, uninstall, download, save and run the latest drivers.

  Uninstalling the printer software.
