• Win 7: still can't find "Fax and Scan for Windows.

  I tried and tried to locate the utility Win 7 embedded 'Fax and Scan for Windows' using the links given to me by your Anshul Arora a few days ago... and still does not activate/download... whatever, this utility application.

  For example:

  2 ""scan a doc or a picture with Win Fax and Scan " page says " click on the Start button, click on "all programs, then click on Windows and digitization." "" I don't see an "Windows Fax and Scan" when I do that.

  3. I haven't installed scanning programs and had Win 7 look for a Setup program; can't.

  Offhand, I would say that my version of Win 7 doesn't have this built-in utility!

  I don't want to use the installation of Canon. I used Windows Fax and Scan "" hundreds of times and I like it better.

• Windows Fax and Scan - what the appropriate use for the concurrent users to save to the network program?

  I'll try to keep this simple - as I already asked this on other forums without the answer. My environment - Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 32-bit client machines. A computer needs to scan patient documents to a network shared by a group of users folder. There will be many people who use this computer even through all day (several shifts - environment 24 hours/7 days).  This is why I need multiple profiles from windows to all save the scan to the SAME network location.

  Currently I am trying to achieve with Windows Fax and Scan and using the ' Scan 'option under 'tools' routing. "  There is a check box (once in this option) for "network location".  I am using this option, but its does not work and that's the whole problem. Its supposed to AUTOMATICALLY record each scan to the specified network location, but it does no such thing. The scan is not registered at all in fact it is just in the interface user of Windows Fax and Scan... double you click it, and then it shows you the image.

  Some information note for helping people answer this question (and any help is appreciated):

  (1) * YES * the network folder, I am trying to record is a valid network folder and * IS * accessible via my network of different devices

  (2) * YES * the user of this journal on the computer with the scanner * ALL * read/write to have rights to this location of the network folder

  (3) * file YES and printing sharing is already active on clients

  If you please if someone either knows how to solve this problem, or at this stage if you can even suggest a different (cheaper the better) application that will scan to a network location please let me know.

  One might think to a disabled feature labeled as "scan routing" and then a field for "network location", it would be simple as plugging in the network folder and checking a box - apparently it isn't.

  I have a M240 with lots of music on it. I don't remember when I put on. Years ago I guess. I plugged into my computer laptop windows 7 and you will see three folders (audible, config record) and a .dnc file. However, that is not my music. What the hell is happening?   The fixed. Apparently, you have set the USB auto detection mode. It must be in MTP mode instead of the MSC mode to view and download files on the drive of a windows system 7. I hope this helps someone.

• Why my Photosmart C8180 can not see my Virgin super hub, when he sees all the other distant routers?

  I'm on Mac OS x 10.7.2. I have a blank superhub. My Photosmart C8180 will not detect the hub using the wireless Assistant, but sees other networks in the region. I tried setting that allows a fixed IP address in the range of the router. Still nothing.

• Can not see my flash site when I upload it on the server. Help, please!

  I did a site in flash catalyst - and it was published as a swf file. Then, I went to filezilla and uploaded on the server. I have all the files I need on the server, including the html file that the swf is embedded. But when I look on the site of all, it shows me the background. I spoke with netfirms.com for 2 days and they tell me that it's on my end with the code.

  Other Notes:

  • It works when I discovered in the dreamweaver browser.
  • netfirms.com tells them that they need to update Flash 10.1 - what I did but still screen see purple and I have also went to 3 other computers with flash 10.1 on the computer and I always get the purple BG
  • Looks like he wants to come--looks like the clip wants to play but disappears and all you see is the purple BG
  • I also renamed the file index.html main.html (I've read is something that needs to be done)

• Cannot install the CD software, AutoPlay does not, can not see .exe files in windows Explorer

  I tried to load the software for a Microsoft mouse that I bought. When I loaded the CD in the drive, the Setup program did not start. When I looked at the content of the CD, it wasn't a setup.exe file. Tonight I tried to load TurboTax, and I'm having the same problem. I put the disc in a XP machine, the installation program starts right up and I see the installation files in Windows Explorer. I can't install it to work on my Vista computer.  When I right click on the drive, I don't get the option to install or run the program. It's as if she's even not recognize that there is a facility on the disk. I'm running Vista SP1 small business. I also downloaded windows a 4.5. No change. Help!

  Well, I am the furthest thing from a computer Wizard but I came across the solution to my problem and kklinger.  I recommend removing a program called "Xplay" from Mediafour.  There seems to be a MAC program and is the reason that the autorun is not complete.  Try this: 1. go to start, then Control Panel
  2. open "programs and features".
  3. scroll through the programs and see if you have the XPLAY under the title editor MACROVISION
  4 right click once a program to highlight, and then click "Uninstall/change" upward.
  5. (you may get a pop-up asking if it's OK continue.)  If so, click on "Allow")
  6. once the program is removed, you will need to restart your computer.

  It worked for me.  Good luck.

• Fax and Scan error: "the remote fax machine have not pick up at the time, resulted in the call.

  My pc modem will dial a number and starts to send my fax pages, but it disconnects and gives the message that the remote computer didn't pick up in time - what happens on several different fax numbers and sometimes eventually crosses so I know the works of modem and CAN fax on. I need to get these faxes!

  Method 2:  rename the queue in queue folder. Old and delete all pending tasks in the queue folder. To do this, follow the steps below

  (a) copy and paste the location into the search box of start

  C:\Users\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax

  (b) open the MSFax folder > rename the queue in queue folder. Old and delete all pending tasks in the queue folder

  (c) restart the computer, and then check

• Windows Fax and Scan - move the default location of the c:\ folder...

  I moved to Windows 7 RTM (MSDN version) with two internal hard drives. I added the location of the additional folder for "My Documents" on my D:\documents\keithha folders and all successfully which, by default, save location.

  How can I move the folder "documents" by default for the d:\?

  Problem solved by removing the Previews.lrdata folder.
