  I have a pdf document with a signature field. When im opening with AcrobatReader XI, I can sign / Place Signature / draw my signature. I can't 'save a copy '. It works pretty well.

  Now, I place a button in the pdf document to be sent via http post to a given address. When I now open this PDF in the XI AcrobatReader, trying to sign. I can only do this with sign / Place Signature / use a certificate. But there is no way to "draw my signature."

If you include a button with an action of type 'Submit form' and/or reader - enable the form, then e-signature (signature of drawing) will not be available in the player. If the document is compatible player then digitally signing will. So for what you want, do not Reader-enable the document and you can use the submitForm JavaScript method to submit.   It depends on the documents. If the document is configured to enter data, then you will need to use fill & sign tool to complete the form and sign it.

  If its only out in the signature, then you will get only the option to sign the form.

• Can not sign the pdf file

  I scoured the forums and the web looking for help with this - I hope that someone can help.  A colleague has created a PDF with Acrobat X Pro (trial version).  It has a number of areas and a signature box, but when I try and fill it drive 10.1.2 it wont let me sign or save info.

  The thing is, when I look at the security settings under properties of the document on the machine, it has been created, all the options are listed as 'authorized '.  However when I likelwise on my computer with Adobe Reader, it says Document Assembly, commenting, Signning and creating pages of models are NOT allowed.  We tried to look on a few different computers (I don't know what are the versions or apps have been used), but on two of my computers, all two with the same version of the player it tells me that I can't sign.  If I click the signature box, that nothing is happening.  If I click on the 'Sign' option at the top right, it tells me the prevetn of security settings adding text and/or by placing a signature top of Adobe Reader.

  Someone can tell me why it would be signable/savable on some machines but not on others?  Thank you very much!

  The document must be enabled for the drive. This allows the reader to do certain things, that it is not normally able to do, such as saving a completed form and signing a digital signature field. To do this in Acrobat 10, select: file > save as > Reader Extended PDF > activate additional features

  There are several types of types of files PDF ExportPDF impossible to convert into Word, and those who are protected by password are a (see Adobe ExportPDF FAQ).

  It seems, however, that you are the one who created this file PDF - is this the case? Can't you see it's not "SECURE" in the title bar (which would indicate that the PDF has a password).
